I'm sorry, Martin Kampmann won that fight. Yeah Diego slugged him a few times, but for every couple Diego power shots, Kampmann was landing sweet counters. And Diego's takedown was worthless and he actually ended up in a bad position when Kampmann stood up.

Not the worst decision, but still a fucking pissoff if you're a Kampmann fan. Diego showed a ton of heart, and it's easy to say "Kampmann should have finished him blah blah blah" but seriously, this is Diego Sanchez, the guy is hard as nails, but Kampmann outstruck him. Compuscore and Fightmetric both had it for him, and they just didn't spend any sustained time on the ground.

Also, both netted $160,000 fight bonuses. At least hard work pays off.

I thought Kampman won the first round easily and did enough in the third to win that fight. Deigo was more aggressive, and landed a big shot every now and then, but didn't win the third round, IMO.

I wasn't entirely sure who should've won, but I felt like Sanchez would get the decision.

The problem was Kampmann started to gass, and it seemed like Sanchez was doing more.

Also Sanchez looked fat.

I would have settled for a draw. But Kampmann certainly didn't lose.

I'm a big Diego Sanchez fan so take my opinion with a grain of salt...

I thought that Kampmann won the first round easily he out stuck him and stuffed every single take down.

I thought Diego won the second because he buckled Kampmann twice with hard shots and continued to move forward while Kampann was going backwards. Though I think this round was very close cause Kampmann still out struck him, but I gave the slight edge to Sanchez for pure agression and octagon control.

I thought Diego won the third because he pushed the pace forced Kampmann into slugfests and he landed the take down. Once again Kampmann out stuck Diego but Diego hit the more impressive shots. Also a real close round but I gave it to Diego based on aggression and octagon control.

Once again that is from someone that was openly rooting for Diego to win. I like Kampmann too I just gave the slightest of edges to Diego. I wouldn't have been shocked by either outcome. I was however shocked by the controversy of this fight. Even if you thought Kampmann won you still have to acknowledge the fight was close. This certianly wasn't Bisping/Hamill or anything.

I just watched the fight, and I agree with TSO 100%. Granted I'm also a Diego fan.

You can't deny that Diego got his face fucked up. Kampmann definitely won the first, and Diego won the third (Diego pushed the pace, and got the take down, even if it was pretty worthless.)

As far as the second round goes, I think Diego won that too, as he was more aggressive, and landed more in the second.

Anyway. It was definitely a close fight. There have been way worse calls from the judges. I think a draw, or at least a split decision would have been more appropriate, but, hey, it happens.

Also, I think it's a shame that judge's value take downs so much, but don't seem to give a shit when they get stuffed.

I don't think Octagon control means shit when the guy is countering you the whole time but I guess that's just me.
