View Full Version : Who are the up and coming fighters?
I've only been watching MMA for a couple of years or maybe three and I tend to focus mostly on the big names. At first I would watch all the fights but nowadays I just fast forward to the main events. So of all the fighters who have just a few wins under the belts who do you guys think will be champion some day or will make a huge name for himself in the future?
I've heard good things about Jose Aldo but I didn't catch any WEC events so the next UFC event will be the first time that I will see him in action.
Daniel Corimer & Ovince St. Preux in Strikeforce
In UFC Phil Davis & Pettis, probably

Mark Bocek is a guy who has potential to be a solid, solid mainstay at 155 and is fighting Ben Henderson in Toronto, I honestly think Bocek will tool Henderson, like he tooled Jim Miller (although for some reason he didn't get the deicision  ). Ric Story is a guy who could end up winning a lot of fights at 170, as he just beat another solid prospect in Johnny Hendrix. Chad Mendes is a team alpha male tank at 145, as well as Danny Castillo at 155. Mark Munoz was never much of a prospect but all of a sudden has strung together big wins over some tough competition and had in retrospect a half decent showing against Yushin Okami in a loss, so he's sort of a fringe contender.

I'm looking to see if Daniel Cormier will continue his undefeated streak and win the SF Grand Prix.
Also, has anyone followed Luke Rockhold? He is the current Strikeforce Middleweight Champion. How is he?
I actually want to see Bobby Lashley do well but he doesn't seem to be having much luck especially with like 4 fights canceled because the other fighter pulled out for various reasons. Also I hope he gets his cardio issue addressed.

It's hard to say with Rockhold. He beat Jacare, but the fight was really close. Knocking out Keith Jardine isn't all that impressive for him though considering Keith never fought at 185 before and is on the tail end of his career anyways. I'd say the top 5 MWs in the UFC would eat him alive.
Tyrone Woodley sucks. So boring.
Jimy Hettes looked awesome on the Lesnar/Overeem undercard.
