View Full Version : Where do you see Evan Bourne in the future?

I’m a fan of smaller wrestlers. They’re actually my favorite type of wrestlers, hence why I was a huge Dean Malenko fan.

Which brings me to my thought, can Evan Bourne become the next Malenko? There’s not much I can say about Bourne, except he’s crazy in the ring and over with the crowd, but he lacks in size as did Malenko, and from what I’ve heard of him, he’s not that good on the mic, but neither was Malenko.

Of course, they’d have to tweak his character a bit, instead of the guy we see now, but it could work. Bourne has the ability, and he’s bigger than Rey Mysterio. I could see him contend for the WWE Championship and having a run as United States Champion, but if they brought back the Cruiserweight Championship and gave it to Chavo Guerrero, I’d love to see a feud between the two.

See him being the upper mid-card version of Rey Mysterio.

mid-card. He has a nice SSP, but he's not someone I'd pay to see personally. I could see him holding the I-C or US Belt, but nothing really more than that. He's a good worker, just depends on if he can stay healthy.

He'll hang around the WWE, probably be given a run with the US Title at some point, and a couple of tag title runs (either another smaller guy a-la Justin Gabriel, or a giant type). Won't ever crack the main event scene though, can't work the mic for shit.

Mid-card but no higher than maybe 1 US or IC title reign due to the lack of cruiserwieght title and the tag titles being seen as not an important belt these days.

He could also get a push similar to Brian Kendrick before he ruined it due to drugs. Kendrick had the same qualities as Bourne but got a nice push and looked to have a good future away from the tag team or low card divisions.

When Undertaker turns heel next year Evan will be his first victim and he'll achieve even lower jobber status than he has now before working Superstars and then retiring to TNA where he will also be wasted.

He's not going to go any higher unless he develops something resembling a personality. Which is fine, he could stay in his current spot the rest of his career making tidy money, putting guys over, winning mid-card titles and so on. He's already achieved more than most.

I kind of liked his feud with Chris Jericho. If he wasn't so injury prone, he would have probably made it to the United-States title level.

He's already at US title level.

Evan Bourne could climb to the next level if he strikes a connection with the fans and his t-shirt sells a lot. The WWE tried giving him a push last yeah, and sort of aborted it. Not really entirely, but Bourne really didn't do much with his big PPV victory over Chris Jericho. Being injured probably helped him in a way, because it's freshened up Bourne close to WrestleMania.

I think Bourne should be moved to SmackDown!, so he can wrestle longer matches, and really strike that chord that he needs to with audiences. Also give him a spot on NXT as a Pro. Bourne might surprise us all by showing a humourous personality, and maybe something resembling a character can spawn from it?

This. Bourne should've been a pro on NXT this season. I enjoy him in the ring, but he'll be stuck in mid-card hell unless they groom him to be better. A training ground like NXT is the ideal place.

I can see him becoming Intercontinental Champion.

I see Bourne's future as being on the next major house cleaning list of WWE and getting his "Future Endeavored" award.
