View Full Version : So was The Rock Vince's back-up plan since he couldn't sign Sting?

Seems like it to me. I DUNNO. Not sure if this was discussed before. But Rock coming back reminds me of the time when Austin took his ball and went home, so Vince asked Rock to come back to save the day. Plan B. When shit goes down, just call up The Rock

Also with all this talk of Rock returning to the ring reminds me of that spring of 2002. Rock came back out of nowhere, he appeared at KOR 2002, and then he started wrestling Vengeance and SummerSlam 2002, Then left.
Fuck the Q&A Forum. THIS IS MY HOUSE

Yes, I'm sure The Rock was an understudy for Steve Borden.
He was saying last yr he was talking to WWE about a 'big role', I guess this was it.

In all seriousness though, to your suggestion that it was more of a "coming back to help" thing, no way.
It seems very likely that it was a plan much earlier than the night Vince came out and said there was a Wrestlemania host.
I'm sure the cogs were turning on this deal way back into 2010.

I think Sting felt bad for Rocky and didn't sign because he didn't want to ruin his return by overshadowing it

What I did was double double, I was being sarcastic about being sarcastic
I also think you highly underestimate Naitch's reply. I'm not sure but I have a strong feeling that he was pretty aware that I was being sarcastic and was being sarcastic about it.
WHO KNOWS, ENTIRE THREAD COULD BE SARCASM
The Rock was the backup plan and MITB is a shoot.

I also heard that the Disco Inferno was going to host Tough Enough, but when he pulled out, they went to the Plan B of Austin.

Pssh. You think that's more likely than the notion that Vince just called up the Rock because he couldn't get Sting, and the Rock just dropped everything and jumped a jet?
 mark.
I doubt Vince even tried to sign Sting in the first place.

WWE probably has more money for Sting but it's kind of hard to pass up punching in for 90 seconds and getting paid.

I agree with Naitch here. Seems like Rock would be that "In Case of Emergency" button, where as Sting just seems like a solid option for the Georgia Dome. I don't feel like Vince would want to play the Rock card until he absolutely had to.

maybe teh wwe felt that this was going to be teh worstest wretslemania evar so they had to pack it with the big guys like rock and atsin and snooki

It's actually a pretty strong Mania. No where near as bad as WM 23.
