I just discovered Stargate Universe Season 1 via Netflx and am waiting for them to run a marathon or something on t.v. so I can DVR the episodes of Season 2.
In the mean time, I'm thinking of going back and watching the Stargate Atlantis series.
I tried watching the first episode of the series, but had a kind of hard time getting into it. Do the shows get better with time, or is the series flat in general?
I didn't get into SGA at first either. It wasn't until a few seasons in that I caught some episodes and I started getting into it. I would say I like it better than SG1. I feel like it's better than SG1 in many ways.

I dunno. After a couple of seasons I found the Wraith boring, and as for the replicators.... I enjoyed watching it in general, even though BSG kinda spoilt it for me, and has continued spoil other sci-fis for me, with it being so epic.
I've been wanting to buy seasons 1, 3-6 of SG1 for awhile now, as I have not seen them in probably ten years (for the earliest seasons), and can't remember them.
This JTV channel is usually on all the time and shows SG1/SGA: http://www.justin.tv/st8rg8te
SGA is playing currently.

I found Atlantis finally got somewhat good around the mid-season cliffhanger of season 1. It hit its stride in season 2 and kept it up for a coupel seasons, though near the end there were a fair share of duds.
Because I didn't get into Atlantis at first, I gave SGU a full season try, and it never got good. All three franchises are kind of different, though.

I stuck with it. On episode 7 now. It's not as bad. Still favor SGU as of right now.
