View Full Version : WARRIOR dvd
Ok so I finally got to watch this and aside from being a vehicle to covertly blow Hulk Hogan for the better part of 90 mins pretty good (love the parts where Christian,Edge or Jericho talk Christian and Jericho in particular are hilarious and their fandom really comes through. My question is did warrior ever respond to the accusations made in the DVD,specifically holding the show hostage for higher pay and the frequent no-shows?
And his total lack of wrestling ability?

Yeah. I think he actually threw a law suit towards WWE. I think they came to terms a few years ago.
According to Pwinsider.com, the lawsuit that Warrior had filed against WWE back in January of 2006, in regards to the Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior DVD is over. Judge Douglas L. Rayes ruled that Warrior could not sue for damages over WWE's comments about him on the DVD. Warrior filed the claim stating that the DVD violated a March 2000 Settlement Agreement between WWE and Ultimate Creations Inc, which is Warrior's Arizona corporation. That agreement allowed WWE to use footage of Warrior, but that Warrior owned the rights and trademarks to the Ultimate Warrior character and could use them in any future venue as he decreed. It was also agreed that both parties would "not disparage each other". WWE agreed to pay $890,000 to Warrior's Ultimate Creations as part of the settlement agreement. The case had been dragging on, and during appearances, it was found that Warrior made "publicly disparaging claims" against WWE. It was ruled that Warrior himself breached the deal, and that he was not legally able to receive damages for the same thing he accused WWE of.

From Lance Storm's latest Q and A:
Q: When I first watched the "Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" DVD, I remember Hogan saying that when Warrior came to WCW in 98 and they were building up to their match at Halloween havoc, and Hogan said that Warrior mentioned on the mic how he beat Hogan in 1990 at WM 6. Hogan was furious and said Warrior just ruined the entire storyline. I’m confused, and maybe it's just me... but I don't see how that would ruin the match, wouldn't it add to the story because it's now "the ultimate rematch" ? What are your thoughts?
A: Yes Hogan’s comment was ridiculous. The whole point to bringing Warrior in was that he was the one guy Hogan never beat and had in fact beat Hogan clean. It didn’t just make the story better, it WAS the story. The DVD was supposed to be a burial so Hogan was just trying to make stuff up to bury the guy and didn’t think this through very well. A lot of the stuff on that DVD didn’t make sense, but guys were told to bury Warrior so they did, even if they had to make stuff up.
