Is it just me or has all of the recient bodyguards/ backup been very unimpressive? I think Alex Riley serves his purpose for Miz (getting beat up while Miz runs away), but Jackson got "killed off" in less than a month and I dont think Clay has won a match yet. There's acouple of guys who act as bodyguards in FCW but none of them are that great. Back in the mid 90s Desiel started his WWE career as a bodyguard and both Sid and King Kong Bundy served as enforcers for Dibiase's Million Dollar Corperation. The only recient one who has been successful is Ezekial Jackson. Has anyone else been dissapointed in the recient string of back up that has come out in the WWE?

I thought Andrews might have been something.

I liked CM Punk's handpicked "bodyguard" member for Nexus with Mason Ryan since he was willing to do anything for Punk while the other members had doubt.

WWE ended up letting Orton manhandle him and the rest of Nexus too easily and dropped from the Punk-Orton feud. Orton ended up killing Nexus much faster than Cena did with Barrett's version.

Yeah I was really hoping Mason Ryan was going to be In Punk's corner at WM. Also Tarver needs to come in as someone's enforcer, the guy has the right build and look for it. Don't know who you could pair him with though.

One of the biggest problems is they're trying to develop new talents by making them bodyguards.

As it was said, Sid & King Kong Bundy were great enforcers because they were already made. Look at The Ministry. All of their enforcers were well established.
No one cares if the new guy wins or loses, but they people that are already established, that matters.

Cade wasnt nearly as good as Ralphus, the original Jericho personal security guard

Who was the big black guy that Jericho had for a while? Mr. Somethingerother.

Looking at how Diesel came in, you don't particularly need someone who's already over to make them strong as an enforcer. Zeke was not over, but the way they've handled him, destroying and man handling the Big Show, has done him wonders.

Andrew Jackson could have gone places, and taken Tyson Kidd along for the ride, but they canned that real quick. I think Mason Ryan still has a bright future. It's just a matter of how they use them.

Outside of constantly losing, Brotus Clay is being utilized fairly well. He just needs to not lose so often, or just not wrestle and get involved instead.

Don't you guys realise that bodyguards are only used in this day and age just to take bumps to protect the person they're associated with? The days of the likes of Diesel ended many years ago

Wasn't it Jackson Andrews?

TBF, Clay didn't even win NXT and he's on the main roster working matches on Raw/SmackDown and will appear in some capacity at WM27. That's not bad all things considered.

They aren't as much bodyguards as they are buffer zones. They are meant to stand in the way of the heel of the angle, look intimidating, but still take the fall to the face.

I'm probably wrong on the name. And yes, I completely agree about Clay. Love how they're using him as a whole. I was just nit picking.
