Good read, but not much there that we didn't already know. Pretty surprised he was only 24 when he was in WWE though! Thought he was a bit older than that! And it's good to hear he went back to college. Would be fucking sweet to have a former WWE performer in your class. :D

I'd like to see him come back for like an anniversary battle royal or something

And get thrown out right away because everyone gangs up on him.

Probably one of my top Royal Rumble moments ever.

He had potential to be one of the greats to emerge from the Cena/Batista generation

He was the best thing going for WWE in 2005.

I still think it's retarded that the WWE got rid of him in the first place.

It was too soon for a gimmick like that. WWE was playing with dynamite and it blew up. I loved the character because I knew it was a play on idiots who lump all Arab people with the terrorists. The problem is that those idiots make up a huge chunk of the audience of professional wrestling.

The henchman thing should have just been cut from the program. Should have just aired anything else other than that.

great gimmick and he was super over...... If WWE really valued Copani as a performer, they could have had him denounce his Arabian culture and reveal that he was truly an Italian that was disgusted by America..... gimmick basically stays the same and he gets to keep his job..... Obviously, this did not happen.....

The heel heat he got was amazing for the little things he did. They should rebut him in September. THAT would get ratings.

Always loved Hassan. Nice to hear from him. Very sad that it didn't work out for him. Def. one of the most memorable characters in the last 10 years.

Hassan was awesome. They should have just took him off TV for a bit and have him eventually return when things calmed down. Can't believe the guy's career got destroyed like that. I'm also surprised that TNA never picked him up.

I remember reading that the original plan was for Hassan to be a babyface. That would have been interesting.

the only reason he doesn't want to come back is because he is caught up in some pussy right now.

Yeah, all my class got was Nick Mondo.

The henchmen thing was dumb, but the gimmick was not "playing with dynamite" prior. The only reason it "blew up" is because they added "terrorists" to the mix....On the same day of the 7/7 bombings. There's no "too soon" in that, because terrorism doesn't go away. Ten years from now, they could try that angle and just chance upon the same day as a terrorist attack, and it'd be fucked.

Maybe the gimmick should never be done for risk of that, but it wasn't killed by 9-11 or proximity to.

Absolutely 100% agreed. If people would really be that offended by a single 10-15 minute match that featured a post-match segment which was only "controversial" because of events that transpired hours earlier, they need to either not watch or have their heads examined. Seriously, WWE and UPN did all they could to warn viewers via a ticker at the bottom of the screen all night that something like that was going to air at the end of the show, and if people can't read/don't like it, that's their problem, not WWE's or the network's.

Should have just cut the attack after out and put it on WWE.com
