There is backstage heat on both John Morrison and Melina, reports Pro Wrestling Torch. It centers around the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII, which saw Morrison repeatedly brush partner Trish Stratus off.

During their post-match celebration, Stratus hugged Snooki and went to hug Morrison, but he had already turned his back on her. Morrison then led Snooki to the corner of the ring and used the Jersey Shore star as a shield, to guard himself from Stratus.

The backstory behind Morrison's awkward body language is that either he or Melina, his girlfriend, felt Stratus took her spot in the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII. The backstage belief is that he either holds Stratus in contempt for taking Melina's spot on the card, or had to portray himself as such so that she would believe he was rude to her.

Behind the scenes, Morrison rejected various ideas Stratus had for their match at WrestleMania XXVII, and was said to be very difficult to work with. His outright refusal to comply with any of her suggestions reportedly hurt her feelings. Word quickly spread amongst the locker room, garnering heat.

Many feel Morrison's unprofessional behavior will set back his standing in WWE since Stratus is highly regarded amongst company personnel.

While Morrison is considered a nice guy, he's not greatly respected amongst his peers. This dates back several years due to his real-life relationship with Melina. Particularly, he lost a lot of respect for allowing Melina to engage in a sexual relationship with former WWE talent Dave Bautista (a/k/a Batista) while the two were dating. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion made no qualms of being intimately involved with Melina in his 2007 autobiography, Batista Unleashed. He wrote:

"My wife thought I was sleeping with Melina right off the bat, while we were still married. It wasn't true, but it did make me feel guilty about being friends with her.

"Since then, as I've said, Melina and I have gotten closer and our relationship has become physical. That's caused a bit of controversy, but I don't give a shit. She's my friend, and I love her very much."

Former WWE stars Paul London and Brian Kendrick alleged numerous behind the scenes stories involving Melina and Morrison in their 2010 "shoot" interview, Brian Kendrick & Paul London's Excellent Adventure. London stated that Morrison is 'spineless' because he repeatedly permitted Melina to engage in sexual activity with outside partners while the two were dating. He added that Morrison would accompany Melina on dates with her partner of choice. Kendrick also claimed that he himself had been intimate with Melina.

What a lot of people tend to forget, though, is that these people get into the business simply because they love it, not necessarily to be the top dog. If that means sacrificing normal lives for the chance, they'll do it. Here, Morrison is essentially getting to have his cake and eat it, too. He's still useful enough to the WWE's upper mid-card and he gets to have his girlfriend along for the ride. Don't get me wrong, he should be making some sort of strides to ensure his tenure gets extended but if he can still be viewed as an asset for the remainder of his career, it's all the better for Morrison.

Reality is Trish is bigger now, post career, than Melina will ever be. If Morrison is going to take offense that his less than popular Diva girlfriend is not booked in a storyline in where she didn't fit than whatever punishment comes down on him is deserved.

Melina hasn't done anything note worthy ever. Granted, the Divas division isn't what it used be when Trish had pros like Molly Holly, Victoria, Mickey James, Jazz and Lita to work with. But it wouldn't make a difference regardless. Melina has been given the match time to show what she's got, and while not terrible, she does not posses the "it" factor that Trish had from day one. Regarding the validity of the story, former WWE talent Sean Waltman (a/k/a X-Pac), who was on hand for the WrestleMania festivities in Atlanta, wrote yesterday on Twitter that a participant of the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match did not behave in a professional manner. He wrote to Stratus, "It was wonderful seeing you this weekend. You are a true professional, unlike someone else in your match and I don't mean Snookie."

He then added that he was very surprised and disappointed by the person's unprofessionalism.

According to a friend of Melina's, the Raw Diva is legitimately upset with Stratus. Melina has privately said that her source of contention with Stratus is not because she herself was snubbed from WrestleMania due to her, but because many of the Divas were. She's upset that many of them were snubbed from the grand event when they're on the road throughout the year, unlike her. Melina also said that she's not the only girl upset with Stratus for "taking their spot."

Meanwhile, Melina wrote a message on Twitter Tuesday defending her Diva peers, and that she will fight for them.

"I was eliminated from TE...Look how far I've come. I'm not the best but God knows I try my best! Thru all the h8 I'm still standing strong!"

Unlike the Divas, male superstars have something more than a lone singles title to work for. Morrison has main evented back to back Elimination Chambers, and had a very good Raw title match. He is literally on the brink. By trying to please his jealous girlfriend, he is undermining everything he has busted his ass for since winning Tough Enough. It would be a damn shame to see him piss it all away, just because his lousy, one trick pony girlfriend didn't get included on a card where no Divas were included.

Objectively, compared to a lot of the Divas, Melina is one of the better in ring workers. Is she as good as Trish, and her rogues gallery that featured Jazz, Victoria and Mickey James over the years? No. But compared to most of the Divas, sans Natalia, Phoenix and Gail Kim, she isn't terrible.

There are very few wrestlers I would say this about but "I HOPE SO".

I don't think Morrison will live up to the hype people have put on him, and I roll my eyes every single time I hear his music. He does some amazing moves, and really knows how to flip flop well, but sometimes his ring work is a little unbelievable for me, not saying that there aren't worse people on the roster but his inability to have an interesting character makes me want to Matt Cross him out of the WWE. I think he'd do better in TNA anyway.

I hear ya. Only reason I thought termination would happen is because WWE has fired people for a lot less in the past. As successful as it is, it's a very sketchy workplace. The whole WM match turning out to be the firestorm it has in the lockerroom and WM27 being shit doesn't help perception much.. Or maybe wrestling sites are reporting about the Morrison fiasco it too much. That's just trying to add to the flames.

I don't think it was professional for Morrison to do that, but to have it go as far as it did shows that WWE were being insincere with him all along about his push and were needing an excuse to take him to task to justify their own personal opinions on the man.

Melina getting the boot wouldn't bother me at all. The only time I liked her was 2007 when she was feuding with Candice and her only really good match is with Beth Phoenix at One Night Stand 2008 the I Quit Match and that's really only because of Beth anyway. I do see her getting the boot. I'm hoping Morrison isn't cut. He's one of the best guys on the roster and I don't care about the whole snub situation. I feel there was alot of overreacting from Trish's camp as well in this. R-Truth most likely replaced Morrison at Extreme Rules, but I think getting rid or Morrison, Kofi, Dibiase or McIntyre would be a bad decision. All three are great mid card talents. I do think they should bring in Shelton Benjamin again, though. However, those four are favorites of mine and I don't want to see them go, but I feel they're in the most danger on the main roster. I don't want to see Masters go either, as I have always been a fan even when he debuted. Reks, Hawkins, Primo, Hornswoggle etc are probably the expected ones at this point. On the divas side I really hope Beth and Natalya don't get cut with Kong coming in. They could have some great feuds and matches with those two and Kong. Getting rid of Gail would be ridiculous as her and Kong can have good matches as we know. Rosa should be with Del Rio. Alicia Fox, Maryse and Melina are not favorites of mine so whatever happens with them won't bother me.

The six-man tag match pitted Trish, Morrison and Snooki against Lay Cool and I don't remember....

Thing was after the match they made a HUGE fucking thing because while Snooki and Trish were hugging and playing nice after they won, Morrison visibly gave Trish the cold shoulder and kept his distance.

Predictably enough, insider information showed that Morrison was said to be very aloof and rude to Trish and that apparently was serious business as Trish is the only respected woman on that roster and she's considered one of those untouchable types.

Reason speculated, and all but been confirmed, that he was pretty much doing what he felt was defending his gf Melina. She had a major beef with Trish because she felt Stratus took away a spot on the card that only she or any other "Diva" should have had since they bust their ass for the company while Trish is arguably seen as more a glorified freelancer who comes and goes as she pleases.

Things escalated when Trish "took the high road" with Morrison by putting him over and complementing his talent immensely on a radio show but definitely pointing out how he was acting. Wasn't a team player, that sort of thing.

This scenario likely didn't help Morrison's standing within the company because word has it that Melina was pretty much the cause of the ridiculous drama that this thing turned into as she has been vocal backstage about feeling robbed of being in that match originally.

Word also got out that she's been tapped in other senses, as once Vince McMahon got word of what was going on (which wasn't long) it had been reported that Morrison was more or less on McMahon's shit list since John is repped to be a pussywhipped, cuckolded loser backstage by the macho tough guys that I guess never had menage a trois' of their own while on the road. Once word got out that he allowed Melina to sleep with whoever she pleased when they were together--one of them being Batista, that's all she wrote.

Adding some more gasoline to the fire is Sean Morley/Val Venis in which he spazzed out on Melina via Twitter, calling her a slut, and BURIED Morrison. All this because he and Trish were such good friends.

That's different because by doing that, King was facing repercussions from Vince himself. Morrison being a douche to Trish when the choice to put her in the match likely came from someone on Vince's creative team makes Morrison a passive aggressive punk. Don't see how you've come to the conclusion that the two are even remotely similar. King quit his well paid, 1-2 day a week job on national television that still allowed him to wrestle elsewhere because they fired his wife, he did something to the detriment of his career and bank balance strictly out of principle. Morrison by all accounts and purposes sits back while guys spaff in, on and around his missus. Where is there anything close to being similar there?

Former WWE star Sean "X-Pac" Waltman feels John Morrison should apologize for his unprofessional conduct towards Trish Stratus at WrestleMania XXVII.

"I think he should be ashamed," Waltman wrote on Twitter. "I think he owes Trish a public apology, and deserves to be in doghouse. Total bullshit."

He continued, "I lost a lot of respect for Morrison over that. He may not care, but he f'n should."

The former WWE Women's Champion stated during a radio interview two weeks ago that Morrison gave her the cold shoulder during their post-match celebration. She also said that he rejected her suggestions during pre-match planning.

Company sources indicate that he and/or his girlfriend Melina believe Stratus took the WrestleMania spot away from the Diva regular, hence Morrison's behavior towards her.

Those on Morrison's side say as he was laying out the match with Stratus, she was insisting that her trademark spots be featured, which led to his resentment. The complaint was that Stratus wanted to be the "star" of the match when its intention was for Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi to garner mainstream attention for WWE. Also, the match was also under extreme time constraints and Morrison should have been treated as a rising star as opposed to "just another guy."

While Stratus is generally regarded well behind the scenes, she has had her share of detractors over the years. She was not popular during her early years in the promotion and there have been complaints of her being arrogant, self-centered and phony. Former WWE announcer Kevin Kelly, who worked with Stratus from 2000 to 2003, was particularly negative towards her during a 2007 "shoot" interview and alleged that she engaged in a sexual relationship with Vince McMahon. Stratus also received a lot of heat from WWE officials for refusing to participate in the 25-Diva Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXV. More recently, Stratus drew the ire of numerous Divas as they believe she "took their spots" at WrestleMania XXVII.

Morrison getting his spot in the match makes me think that this story is getting blown well out of proportion. WWE has spent considerable time molding and building up Morrison, and while losing to Truth doesn't look like a good sign, at the end of the day, he still has the spot.

With that said, I did wish/was looking forward to Morrison and Ziggler getting considerable time in the match and beging given the chance to really show up and tear the house down. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way, but he still got a spot in a match that recieved media exposure, which is the plus side of that.

To follow up on the story of John Morrison snubbing Trish Stratus at WrestleMania XXVII, friends of the Raw Superstar were shocked by his cold behavior. The assumption of many within WWE is that Melina was in his ear all week because she believed Stratus was taking her spot at the pay-per-view event.

WWE sources say as Status was presenting her match suggestions to Morrison backstage, he said things such as "I'm not feeling that" (coined several years ago by Hulk Hogan in WCW) and "I don't want to look at you."

Kelly Kelly was scheduled for the Six-person Mixed Tag Team Match at one point, but the addition of Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi to the bout apparently led to a change in plans. It has been speculated that WWE instigated rumors of Kelly Kelly appearing in the match to prevent news of Snooki wrestling from leaking out.

Multiple people within WWE are blaming the entire situation on Melina as they feel she's primarily responsible for the friction between Morrison and Stratus. Melina has been a heat magnet within the locker room for years, which is why a number of her pushes have been derailed.

Comparisons to former WWE talent Tammy Sytch (a/k/a Sunny) were drawn early in her WWE run as many people felt she was similarly difficult to deal with and that her ego was out of control. Melina was sentenced to face The Undertaker in "Wrestler's Court" in early 2006 due to her unscrupulous behavior, which is the unofficial forum among WWE talent for the policing of wrestlers that violate the rules and traditions of the company. Her ill-behaved manners persisted and she found herself transferred from SmackDown to Raw.

There have been numerous other accounts of friction between Melina and her locker room peers dating back to her time in WWE's developmental system.

* She had issues with veteran female talent such as Amy "Lita" Dumas kicking her out of the locker room and forcing her to change in the hallway. Melina carried on the tradition with some of the younger Divas once she became a veteran herself.

* Melina was involved in a backstage altercation with Sharmell on May 13, 2006 at a SmackDown live event in El Paso, Texas. The incident was triggered by Batista's fistfight with Booker T the week prior during shooting for the SummerSlam commercial.

-- Melina engaged in a war of words with Candice Michelle via blog postings on WWE.com. In early 2007, Michelle accused Melina of stealing one of her signature wrestling maneuvers. Michelle fired back with a defamatory post, which WWE.com deemed unsuitable to publish. * Brooke Adams, who now performs as Miss Tessmacher in TNA Wrestling, revealed in an interview earlier this year that her departure from WWE in 2007 had nothing to do with Melina—as rumored. She did, however, disparage her former colleague's character.

Adams stated, "The reason I left WWE never had anything to do with her, that was just a rumor. When I left I was actually the only person that liked her. She was such a rude, fake, bitch to everyone. She then tried to turn my girls Layla and Kelly Kelly against me by telling them a lie that I said which in reality was a rumor that she started. It was never anything I said. I can't stand her and neither can most of the rest."

* Melina harbored great animosity towards Mickie James early in her career. She trashed James for months on the message forum of her official website while the two worked side by side in Ohio Valley Wrestling, going as far to call her a 'slut' in one post (while also belittling future TNA Knockout Angelina Love).

Melina wrote: "I'd rather work with a Diva who has no training than work with Alexis Laree.

"She steals other girls moves. Is lazy and doesn't care about anyone but herself. It's justice that she isn't on tv.

Shortly after James' promotion to the main roster in October 2005, Melina posted a lengthy commentary alleging she was victimized by the Richmond native—without referring to her by name.
