Honestly, it's pretty obvious that Gil Melendez is top 3 lw in the world if not top 2. What he did to Kawajiri was just ridiculous. He's a beast, and he's ever evolving as a fighter. How do you all think he would fair against UFC's top 2? I think it's a toss up every time.

I'll go w/ Edgar, just for how he nullified and beat the shit out of BJ. Would be a good scrap either way.

It depends on which BJ comes to fight. If it's a pissed off and motivated BJ he's damn near unbeatable.

As far as Gilbert goes, I've been a huge fan for a long time, but 155 is the most stacked division in MMA and I think guys like Henderson, Pettis, Guillard, Jim Miller, and Dennis Siver are currently better than anything he's faced in Strikeforce and could win just as easily if they faced the same level of competition as Gilbert.

Not Gilbert's fault, but it is a reality people should consider. I would like to see him fight a couple of those guys first before I put him against Maynard or Edgar.

hahaha I'm sorry but Tatsuya Kawajiri, Josh Thompson and Shinya Aoki are all more proven fighters than Pettis, Guillard, Siver and Miller. Not to take anything away from them because they're all good fighters, but let's get fucking serious here...

Mind you, Jim Miller would prolly hand those guys their asses (Aoki, Thompson and Kawajiri), but still he's a somewhat unproven commodity. He may have got a judges decision agains Bocek but even he thought he lost that fight, and his one big step up in comp against Maynard, he lost.

Melendez has also beaten Guida back in the day.
