Gonna start this off as a little series using covers that are often debated. Dunno if it'll go down well or if people will vote in these much.
This one is actually partly for use in a section of my dissertation for uni too so I'd kind of appreciate if people would vote. I'm just generally gathering opinions on different versions of tracks.
First track: Hurt
Nine Inch Nails

Oh and if you could post reasons that would be pretty swell too.

Second. I agree with Trent. Johnny really took it to the next level.

Both are great but they have like totally different meanings when the other sings it
but Trent's version is just too damn good to not pick
gotta give this one to Trent

I like the Cash version, but I prefer the darkness and madness of the NIN original.
Johnny Cash. Love the mood his version sets.

Nine Inch Nails is one of my favorite bands, but I think that song is a bit over rated because there's better songs.... but I'll go with the original here.

Cash's cover may well be the greatest re-imagining of a song ever. Easy choice.

Nine Inch Nails because I believe that song cannot be topped by any cover including Cash.
I really don't like Cash's version. His voice doesn't fit for that kind of song. It's a dark song and Trent does it perfectly.

Lol I got the perfect response from some girl I asked about this.
"Cashs version is much better, nothing beats the original"

I hope she was ridiculously hot and you were hoping to bang her, otherwise a slap would have been in order for her.

She is pretty hot actually, but she's my best mates ex-girlfriend so it's kind of a no fly zone.
I was just generally asking people on facebook the same question for the same uni work.

I dunno, I'll do them every few days or something.
In the mean time, some of you may prefer this version

That pisses me off when people say that.
But makes me happy in a way because they don't really know NIN and I think it's better if they don't know who they are because they don't deserve to be opened up to awesomeness.
