I'm very curious how TPWW as a whole feel about him as a commentator. I was surprised to learn that he is the longest tenured employee of the WWE from Tough Enough. I think that he serves as a great buffer for King and Cole and can be somewhat humorous when he wants to be. So what do you guys think as to his future in WWE?
I have no problem with the guy. He's ok in my book.

He was my favorite from the original tough enough, not just because we share the same first name, there was another josh on there too.

He's great, I think he is a good medium between Cole and Stryker.

Favorite play by play guy on the roster.

I like him. He's very even keeled and consistent which is a nice relief from the over the top shit we're getting from Cole and the half ass performance we get from King.

He gets the job done. Prefer Matt Striker though. :(

I like his style. He gets excited, but doesn't go over the top. He's been in the ring, so he knows the name of the moves and has some sort of psychological understanding of what's going on.
I also like that he play's a nice counter to Cole. When King is there, Cole runs amok. Matthews does a nice job of evening things out, as he has more to say and is more objective than Cole.

I like him but i didnt really understand him laughing and joking with cole on raw after swagger had taken out jr and king. like he was gone a bit heel all of a sudden

He's become a way better broadcaster imo over the past couple of years.

He is my favorite announcer in WWE right now.

It's kind of surreal seeing the guy who used to call Heat and Velocity getting used as one of the more prominent announcers in the WWE. Personally, I've always liked the guy. It's obvious he knows a lot about wrestling, and does his nerdy research. But he also knows what it takes to call an "entertainment" event. He can switch between play-by-play and color seemlessly, and I hope to see him become a mainstay at the commentary table.

he doesn't have a great broadcasting voice, but he can do it just fine.
he has more to say and is more objective than Cole.
yes, and i like that he's aggressively objective. he kinda forces cole to back up his douche character with some thought instead of letting him just spout off uncontested.

Josh Matthews is different than most commentators because we've seen him develop over the years. We first saw him on Tough Enough, and ever since then, we've kind of seen him grow up, and develop into what he is today.

He's pretty good. Definitely no Scott Stanford though.

I do like me some Scott Stanford. I actually wouldn't mind it if he became an on-screen buddy of Zack Ryder's. Like part of an entourage labelled "The Zack Pack."
I also like Jack Korpela. It's obvious that kid has a love for wrestling, and goes back into the history of everything.

Personally I think he's a great balance of play-by-play and color commentary.
