This is another one that I'll be using in my dissertation so the more people who vote the better. Also if you could give a brief reason as to why you prefer one to the other that would be great.

I prefer the Jules-version. It is sombre and a stark affair that appeals to me more than the TfF version.

Haven't heard of this song before, but after giving it a listen I'll go with Tear for Fears.

Gary Jules.
After it's use in Donnie Darko, the song pretty much associates with more emotions, mostly sadness. The TFF one just sounds like any pop song from the 70's/80's (whenever it came out).
Also, I learnt the GJ one on piano because it's fairly easy and everyone knows it. Chicks dig it when you play and sing it.

I learnt it on piano as well. I still have the sheet music somewhere, though there are some mistakes on it that I had to sort out. Whomever transcribed it did a shitty job.

Have you used it to impress girls yet?

Alas, no. I can't even remember how to play it. I now have the urge to pull my keyboard out from under my bed, set it up, and learn the song again.

Do it. Play it at the next party you go to, and then rejoice in the following admiration from girls who are suckers for soppy songs.

Damnit! I went searching for the sheet music for this song and I can't find it. I have the bad feeling that I might have accidentally thrown it out when I cleared my old room out. Bad times.
But I did find my Dresden Dolls songbook and some Regina Spektor sheet music. Oh, and REM's Night Swimming. LET'S DO THIS!

Neither
I've always been a fan of Adam Lambert's version
