Aight not to be such a pessimest. Is it possible that the WWE are planning on unifying the WWE/WHC title? They were rumours about it last year, so is it possible that the WWE has Del Rio win and then sets up a tournament where The Miz ends up winning the WWE and WHC title or John Cena doing so?

I hope they unify the titles, one belt will be better

Agreed. One belt is long overdue, if you ask me.

It would only work if they ended the brand idea all together. I don't see that happening because they like the idea of them being their own competition.

I've long wanted them to Unify the World Titles with the champ making appearances on both shows, while making the US and Intercontinental titles more important on their respective shows. I'm tired of title belts just being an ornament and not having much meaning anymore. I mean both US and Intercontinental champs were pinned cleanly on Raw last night.

One was pinned by a former World Heavyweight Champion and the other guy is at the same level so it was 50/50 going in. no big deal

It doesn't matter who pinned them, it makes the champion look weak to take a pinfall, unless it used to push the other person as a No. 1 contender.

May I ask why?

Because wrestling has always had ONE guy in the company. ONE champion that everyone guns for. It gives everyone one certain goal and makes that goal MUCH more of a big deal. I don't think anyone can really argue the fact that the WWE and World titles at this moment mean a ridiculous amount less than the WWE World title meant as the pinnacle of the company. Even post brand split before Brock Lesnar became Smackdown exclusive. There's no reason the champion can't just go between both brands while he has the title.

You've got a roster full of guys who grew up wanting one day to be THE WWE Champion like Hogan or Austin. Now the best they can do is be the "Champion of Raw" or the "Champion of Smackdown" basically.

Not a fan of combining the titles. There are a lot of positives, but one huge negative always sticks its neck out at me. Assuming that there are still different brands, you will have to have the champion go back and forth to each show. Meaning one show will have a shot per ppv (Like before) and while Smackdown has the title shot Raw has lost that main attraction. When Raw has the title shot, Smackdown will lose the main attraction. Basically one show will be almost pointless (main event wise) every other month.

One world title belt would be awesome.

You can build a World title unificatuion matchup for a pay per view payoff.

You can even keep the brands and alternate each PPV for which brands gets the title shot. It gives the WWE an oppertunity to give a superstar (wrestler) a stronger build leading into a World title match oppertunity (not that they will take advantage of this) & you can have number #1 contender matches that will make the outcomes more important.

Then stop thinking of it as RAW and Smackdown - have it simply be WWE Entertainment hours.. or something like that.

If the champ can go on any show, then so can everybody else. It's not like there's a clear split as it is. Just have it stop being "competing" and just be same wrestlers but different days.

If you really need a difference then keep the US and IC title, and have them be brand exclusive, but have the non-champions be viable to compete for either.

Not at all. You raise the level of the US and IC titles. Make them cusp of the main event level. And when one brand has the World title feud for a month, you've got the guys on the other brand fighting to see who gets the next title shot on their brand. Not to mention the non-title specific main event feuds that have been popular lately.

I don't see how that's not better and doesn't add more prestige. Everyone in the company, no matter what brand, chasing one goal.

I don't really think this would be the case. If anything it would force the WWE writing team to come up with more provocative and interesting storylines for their top guys who aren't currently chasing the belt. Every "main attraction" doesn't have to be "you have the gold and I want it." Rey/Punk wasn't about a title, HBK/Taker wasn't about a title, Nexus/Cena for the most part wasn't about the title. You can have a RAW main event on the show that doesn't feature the undisputed title up for grabs and it could still be on par, billing wise, as the title match from Smackdown. It would just mean that the writers have to build feuds around something other than the belt.

I've been saying it again and again, I hate the brand split and I've hated it for nine years now. I wonder if Vince has ever noticed that wrestling really took a dive off the cliff around the time that split happened. I'm not saying the split is what damaged the wrestling business but it's obvious that it hasn't done anything good for it either.

Now as far as everyone saying that ending the brand split would take alot of guys out of the picture because of not enough tv time to go around............oh well, those guys would not have it any more worse than all the guys that came before them.

Sheamus vs Wade Barrett IC/US title unification?

God I hope not. The US and IC titles should continue on on separate shows. Each show has their upper-midcard title to give him bragging rights to his brand and to launch a guy into the main event scene while there is one world title for them all to go after in the big picture. Then you've got tag and divas titles that go between the brands too so those divisions can have one true champ as well. It's nice and neat instead of the mess the titles have been in since the invasion.
