with no theme music? watching SS 94 last night and backlund had good amount of heat with no theme. wondering if there is anyway with fireworks props and themes being the norm now if you think a guy could actually get over without it. discuss

He'd has to be the "monster type"
The Giant is WCW pulled it off pretty well, but you kinda have to be established to do that. Kozlov was doing it for a bit, meh.
Dark lighting with no music would be pretty decent. Kharma could probably do it.

it still angers me gert to think of the giant circa late 90s to transition into paul wight the joke from his debut.

The WWF/E booked him into oblivion. He was a joke right from his debut.

He hardly helped himself.

That too, but he was basically jobbed out to Austin right away. When Vince signed him from WCW he stated "WCW doesn't know how to book a Giant"

I honestly liked it when Kozlov came out to no music.

Similarly, Batista having the lights turned down was awesome.

More 'was getting $1m a year guaranteed downside and couldn't be arsed which led to him getting fat quickly'

yea, makes me wonder if he has alot of regrets about his career with how he started off so well and now how it just too late for him to do anything to rectify the last 7-8 years

I think it would be tough. The theme music is probably the last thing people will ever forget about a wrestler and it becomes pretty synonymous with the character (Taker's bell, HHH's "time to play the game," "If ya smell what the Rock is cooking" whatever that yabba dabba doo shit in Cena's theme is). Plus it adds to the entertainment value of the show.

Some guy just walking to the ring with nothing would get pretty boring after awhile.

The Giant started putting weight on as soon as he signed that 10million dollar contract

I am confident that Cody Rhodes could do it. It's only a matter of time before we see him running the show.
