Let's go back in time, well kind of, an you are starting your own company. You can choose ONE main guy. One main "face" of the company, who do you pick, and why?

My vote goes to The Great One since he's the most electrifying of them all.

I went with HBK, because too men, while The Rock is the best promo person of the bunch, Shawn Michaels is the best overall as far as Charisma and Wrestling Ability.

Gotta go with what I know. Hulk Hogan.

Larger than life, charismatic. People will be in awe of this man.

Bret. Maybe he can't cut as good of a promo as Rocky or even Austin, but his promos are good and dammit he can wrestle!

I'd sign Steve Austin to a huge f'n contract when he walked out on WWE, refusing to lay down for Brock.

You realize whatever you guys say in here, Austin will still win the poll?

Whatever people like to explain their reason for voting anyways. I voted for Hogan cause of the track record for starting WrestleMania off of his popularity/celebrities.

HHH.

Hes entertained me for a longer period than the rest and I'm nearly always interested in his matches/promos.

Austin or Hogan depending on 'specifics'

Depends on what era of wrestling since a Hogan style character would work well with the PG style of WWE now and during the 1980s while a Rock or Stone Cold character works better with less restrictions.

Hogan would be a good choice if we are talking about today because while Cena has some trouble with selling and promos, Hogan rarely had that problem. Both were also pushed heavily and had kids as their main fanbase.

Had three options: Hulk Hogan, SCSA & Bret Hart. Hogan was the brain talking, Bret Hart was the heart talking, SCSA stunned both of them in to silence.

Shawn Michaels. He's the perfect pro wrestler. No one else has ever been incredibly stellar is every aspect.

Shawn Michaels...

...'cause he's the greatest of all time.

Are we getting these guys in their prime, with their prime fanbase?

If that's the case I have to go with Hogan or Cena.

You have someone the kids like, you make money. You have someone the smarks hate, you make money.

What? You want me to vote on who I would sign? What? You wanna know why? What? Speak up so I can hear you.

The answer in this poll is really obvious.

I said it's an easy answer.

I said it isn't hard to come to the right conclusions.

I picked HBK but was on the fence with Austin/Rock/Hart.

HBK because of his overall ability in the ring and on the mic... SCSA is a VERY close second but HBK was a better in ring guy to me...

I went with Austin. I can't see picking anyone else over him.

Hogan can't wrestle, Bret can't talk (honestly I'd prefer Owen if I were taking a Hart), Cena is middle of the road at both, Rock actually bores me to tears with his "insert at least 10 of 14 of my catchphrases into every formulaic promo I cut" crap, I was never an HBK fan... so Trips is probably my second choice. As much as I respect Bruno, if I'm starting a company in 2011, I don't see him drawing like he once did even if we get the westler "in their prime." Totally different era then.

HBK was not a huge main eventer like Austin or Rock, Even though only wrestling wise he's easily the best in that list. I Go With Rock.

It really depends on the era that I'm starting it in.

I'm going to assume that it's the modern era and everyone is in their prime.

Can't say anything of Bruno as I've seen very little of him, but he likely wouldn't work today.

Bret was never on the level with most people up there in terms of stardom, so he's out.

Cena is an absolute beast just for PR purposes, and he's a workhorse for WWE. He's an amazing team guy. Easily a top pick.

Michaels is hard, because he's had two primes. If it's pre-97 HBK, no way, he's too much trouble. Post-2002, he's a top pick. However, I don't think Michaels could have carried a company on his back. Don't get me wrong, he has "it", but compared to some of the others on this list, he doesn't have as much of "it".

Hunter is a great pick, but it's hard to pick him just because he's injury prone and could be a hassle backstage.

Hogan is a great mouth piece, but in this day and age you have to go at a pace Hogan would never have been able to go at, so he's out.

Austin is a top pick. Awesome in the ring, amazing promos, all around amazing. But I always consider his prime post-neck injury, and that's not a good thing to have on you.

Rock is also a top pick, easily. Promo guy, can go in the ring, and oozes charisma very few can muster up. Probably the most charismatic guy on this list.

Out of all of them, I honestly feel Cena is the best choice. Obviously I don't have hindsight with him so I can't say if what I've seen in terms of his dedication to the business will stick, but he's been busting his ass for 6 years at the top, and does always deliver a great energy. Plus the PR boost is amazing with him, and I think that's the most important thing here, honestly.

Though I will point out that having one face of the company is a VERY bad idea. Having one tippy top guy and EVERYONE below them is a mistake, and I would not run a company that way.

Would have picked Kevin Nash, seeing as he was holding the world title at the biggest peak of wrestling, but without Nash I will go with Stone Cold.

in all seriousness if i were starting a wrestling company and was going to take one man, i would take bobby heenan as he would be the most versatile and valuable guy.

of this list the rock. from a business standpoint he can draw in outside fans, sell merch work programs with everyone and was a decent enough in ring performer
