So now that Zuffa owns Strikeforce and EA made a mostly Strikeforce game, what happens now??
I recently bought EA MMA and really like the fight mechanics.. Grappling is much easier and the career mode is ten times better than in the Ueashed games.. I know that Dana White had gone to EA Sports in like 2007 to make a UFC game but it never panned out I think cause EA wanted an MMA "sport" game not a UFC brand game.. So my questin is, will the next MMA video game be just that, a true MMA game featuring fighters from both promotions?? Or will they keep it seperate??
If they do keep it seperate will bot THQ and EA be invovled??
Personally, I'd like an MMA game with all fighters and all rules/rings/venues with EA Sports making it..
Think of having Fedor vs Lesnar with Vale Tudo rules..
Thoughts??
EA had no interest in making an MMA game at all when approached by UFC/Zuffa, slated MMA, brushed them off etc, hence Dana's venom towards them when they suddenly appeared with their own game after the boom and the success of the THQ game. And word is that EA are pretty much done with MMA since Zuffa now owns all the guys, brands etc from their game, Randy has already said he's pretty sure he'll be in the next THQ UFC game etc. I'm just hoping we get UFC vs. Strikeforce, especially now that THQ have switched to bi-annual, Fight Night esque periods between UFC games. Dunno though, maybe they'll keep them seperate. Would be a huge money maker though.

Yeah I'm more for a UFC vs Strikeforce game but wish EA was making it..
Just been enjoying this EA one more than either of the UFC ones.. Like, in the career mode I'm an all around good fighter where in the UFC one the ground game was so hard once I got up to the "elite" status guys would just take me down and sub me.. The way this one is set up, you get good at everything.. Even though I got like 20 KO's i also choked out Babalu for the title and then armbarred Kevin Randelman..

EA MMA bombed financially too. I liked the THQ game better personally and wouldn't mind seeing a Strikeforce vs. UFC type deal.

I want a Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain version of MMA, including all the storylines and text boxes.

Thereason EA's MMA bombed is cause of star power.. Other than Couture, they had no one casual fans know..
I mean their biggest "stars" other than Randy were Fedor and Mayhem
Miller.. Most casual fans only watch UFC and prolly didn't watch back when Miller was around..

the ufc ground game is a piece of piss if you have a good submission circling technique and reversals. it's kind of flawed actually since it's so easy to time against the CPU, especially on expert. i was obsessed with that game for a while though so i know all the dumb tricks.

The new UFC Undisputed looks like it's gonna be sick. Especially the Pride mode with Bas and Ranallo on commentary.

THQ currently has exclusive rights for the UFC license so unless they lose out in the next contract or UFC lowers its fee, EA won't have complete access unless somehow they made an agreement with THQ for some fighters or paid THQ to be able to work on a game.
EA could have bought the license to Strikeforce or Pride in 2007 but thought buying up rights to certain fighters would be better than buying rights to a promotion. They could have been grandfathered into the THQ deal if UFC kept all Strikeforce/Pride deals but EA never made a deal.
