View Full Version : One Last Run!

Okay so I came up with an idea that isn't done to death. It's simple, we all have our unique favorites, maybe you were a big D'Lo Brown fan or perhaps you were an honorary member of The Nation of Domination and Farooq was your inspirational leader, or maybe you even love guys who pooped their pants in the main event of Wrestlemania, I DUNNO.
BUT, if you had the magic power to conference with Triple H (James Steele, cool it bud) and convince him to hire a former WWE employee for one last run. Who would it be?
Now to make this a realistic hypothetical let's say the wrestler in question must be physically able to work or do whatever you want him to do. So no, Blackman marks, The Lethal Weapon won't cut it.
The run can be as a wrestler, manager, or GM.
No question about it for me- It seems WWE is looking to revive managers and I want Cole to manage Swagger for real. Get back good ol' JR please.

EDGE!!! lol
Um...I would have to say....the Warrior. I don't care what anyone says but I am a huge Warrior mark. And I think he can still go....right?....RIGHT?!

That's my "One last Run!" wish.
Unfortuneately it would never happen because it could not be done in the "PG" era. I just can't see Vince giving up the millions of dollars he may loose from advertisers that wouldnt support a more mature show.
Think about it. Tough Enough is one of the most entertaining things WWE has done in quite a while. Why? Not because of the crappy reality show aspect. I tune in every week to see Austin's smart ass humor and to see him chew someone's ass.

Jake The Snake because he is my favorite and actually is practically retired. BUT we all know he doesn't deserve to be in a WWE ring in a wrestling capacity.
People who DO deserve another quick: Ricky Steamboat (even though it kinda already happened), Stone Cold, The Rock (happening).
I am also in full agreement with whoever mentioned Regal. <3
as far as JBL goes: I got sooo bored/tired with him at the end of his career I was glad he left. However, after a long break I can see myself giving in and loving him once more. His appearance on RAW really made my day for some reason.

If someone in the company isn't trying to get this guy in as a manager, they're not doing their job properly

After seeing the Chikara footage, and knowing that he was recently working development in FCW with Triple H and The Undertaker, I'd love to see Waltman get another year or two run in his old spot. His old spot being the buffer between up and coming Superstars and the main event. In particular I'd like to see him go against Cody Rhodes, R-Truth, and Ted Diabiase.

I'll list five that I would like to see have one more run in WWE.
1. Kurt Angle- He would have five star matches with more stars he hasn't had a chance to yet and even revisit a feud with Cena/Triple H/Undertaker. It would be fun to see him have at least one more WWE run so he gets honored in the WWE HOF.
2. Brock Lesnar- I know he is in UFC, but he would be more than capable of having another solid run in the WWE where he could just run roughshod over the roster. A feud with Orton would be awesome as they never had the chance to cross paths.
3. Ken Shamrock- I feel he is one of the most talented guys to ever compete in the WWE. He should have gotten a title push. I liked his IC title run and thought that he was ahead of his time and would have thrived better in the time period when Angle, Lesnar, Benoit, Mysterio etc came around.
4. JBL- One of the top five best talkers in the history of the business in my opinion. I think he could serve well as a manager or general manager.
5. Bobby Lashley- I know his mic skills weren't good, but with the premise of bringing back manages, Lashley just competing (I thought he was one of the most talented guys on the roster in 2005-2007) while another person carries the mic work would make for a great package. Think about Lesnar when Heyman was his mouthpiece and Lesnar just dominated in the ring. That's where I am drawing a comparison.
The g.i. joe guy?
Yeah, just a tad paler.

Nash. Yes. Agree.
One last run for Nash is like one last run for oxygen. He will have as many last runs as he chooses because he will be around until the sun explodes or dies and potentially after.

Also, for someone who hasn't been mentioned yet, I always wanted to see Al Snow get a push. The guy was a great worker and is crazy likable.

Why?
G.I. Joes were my favourite toys as a kid.
I remember my mom buying me an Asian G.I. Joe action figure (don't remember who it was, though) and I started crying, because I didn't want a jap.

Mr. Kennedy hands down guy deserves another shot. HBK goes without saying would love to see him back for a while. JBL as a manager/announcer would be golden. Kurt Angle doesn't even need an explination.

Seriously, fuck Nash. I hate Kevin fucking Nash.
For an answer to the question, I just keep thinking of dead wrestlers but I think that's against the rules, realistically Angle is the obvious choice. He's a big name and after a year of build up he could face Taker at WM, and it would be incredible.

Also Bill Demott would be awesome to have a decent last run. He could probably put on some good stuff these days I think.

He has had plenty of time recently squashing green people. I would enjoy a Rumble appearance or something like that.

If not as a wrestler, DeMott could make a great manager. Comes out and interrupts matches, berating people. "What the hell was that? Get outta my ring. Let me introduce my client, who has REAL talent."

As far as Kevin Nash goes he should have been the one that dethroned Triple H in like 2003 that would have been the time to give him his last run he's getting a little long in the tooth to try it now.
I'd say DDP, but there's no way he would be used by the WWE in a main event capacity, he's getting pretty damn old, and I don't know if his personality would really get over with today's audience.
I'd love to see Lesnar make a return to the WWE, but with him making so much damn money in the UFC, I highly doubt we'll ever see him come back into the ring.
Foley probably has one more good match in him, but I have no idea who it would be against or who deserves to get a "Foley-rub", as pretty much everyone who gets into a major feud with him ends up getting into the main event.
Carlito should get another run in the WWE, and I'm sure we'll see him back some day. He had a good look, good charisma, but maybe he was just still too green (mentally) to survive in the WWE atmosphere. I'd like to see him come back and fulfill what he was meant to fulfill on his first run through.
