Impact 5/26:
*Ken Anderson, dressed like Sting came out and cut a promo. He brought out, no kidding, Disco Inferno as his guest on the “Scorpion Sitdown”, so he did an entire talk show mocking Sting before laying out Inferno. Sting made the save.
*AJ Styles and Chris Daniels defeated Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer in a Street Fight.
*Velvet Sky cuts a promo saying she is tied of the accusations against her. ODB comes out and says that a year ago, she was fired because she didn’t have the right look and she’s tired of people like Sky being what everyone thinks a female wrestler should be. ODB said she’s a pathetic woman and that’s why her best friend Angelina walked out on her. Sky tried to leave but ODB laid her out.
*Jeff Jarrett defeated Matt Morgan after Scott Steiner interfered.
*Eric Bischoff came out and said last week, they met with the Network and convinced them that only one person is qualified to run Impact Wrestling and that man is Hulk Hogan. Hogan came to the ring and gloated, saying his genius is second to none. Hogan told Bischoff that what he did to the X-Division last week was genius as well. Mick Foley came out and said that no matter what Hogan thinks, all he did was make the Network mad, because after Hogan left the meeting, Foley showed them how the X-Division put TNA on the map, so it’s here to stay. Bischoff told the Bischoff told Foley it doesn’t matter because he has no power over what goes on the PPV shows. Foley said they can’t promote the PPVs without the Network, so they have no choice. Hogan tried to goad Foley into wrestling Abyss but a number of the X-Division talents come out. Brian Kendrick says he wants a shot at Abyss and that match is made.
*TNA Knockouts champion Mickie James pinned Winter. Angelina Love attacked James after the match.
*TNA X Division champion Abyss pinned Brian Kendrick.
*They refilmed the ODB and Velvet Sky segment.
*Eric Young pinned Gunner to win the TNA TV championship. Young laid down for Gunner and then small packaged him for the surprise win.
*Kurt Angle pinned Rob Van Dam with the Olympic Slam.

Also love how TNA are all "We are wrestling!!" then force their fans to sit through retapes of terrible promos and 20 minute Bischoff / Hogan / Foley segments while they're putting their midcard titles on Eric "all my moves are comedy spots" Young and "Attempted Murder with a spiked board" Abyss.

I agree. He's no Samoa Joe or Kurt Angle. At least they can actually hang with the X-Division stars.

lol 'hang with'. Yeah, because the little guys doing all the 'movez' are the proper wrestlers right. Not like he's got 15 odd years of experience working with skinny guys on the indies or ROH and so on.

So unless I'm completely forgetting something, what relevance does Disco Inferno have to Sting?

after watcing impact last night, anderson looked just like old sting, i think he is the best fake sting ever.
on abyss having the x belt i guess that is part of bisholf killing the x-div story, i do not know if that is work or shoot.

:D I know, right? :D
I was watching an interview with Paul Heyman (can't remember which YouTube video it is now) and he REALLY has his crap together. He basically "hypothetically" laid out a 5yr plan for TNA if he were in charge and it was BRILLIANT.
Grrrrr, I WISH he would put his foot in the door and just kick it open

You know what? I actually think that could be a good show, on paper. Anderson is pretty entertaining, and I used to love Disco Inferno, so a segment of them masturbating their egos could be pretty entertaining. Anderson is being an asshole to Sting, which is, I guess, his gimmick, isn't it?
The AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels vs. Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer Street Fight could be fun, if not a classic, and it comes from the storyline of these guys all being involved in programs against each other.
Now, there are circumstances where I would enjoy the ODB/Velvet Sky feud TNA seems to have planned, but is Velvet just going to forget that her best friend is a zombie. That shit is so stupid, and while I do enjoy that Mickie seems to be moving into a feud with them, I'm not sure if I really like ODB's involvement right now. I'd rather they sit on her for a little bit, and perhaps run Madison Rayne vs. Tara and Mickie vs. Winter vs. Sky with Angelina Love being the x-factor that Winter has in that match.
Jeff Jarrett wrestling anyone other than Kurt Angle, at this point in time, is a breath of fresh air, even if the matches won't be as good. Plus, the storyline between Morgan and Steiner makes sense, can help elevate Morgan over time, and Jarrett getting the win helps keep him looking like a top star. The only question I have is why Steiner would help a member of Immortal. But whatever. I don't really know the story between Steiner and Morgan, so maybe they just really hate each other. I hope they do something with that to build towards their likely Slammiversary match.
The X-Division stuff I don't mind, either. Abyss, as CSL has said, has pretty much spent most of his career working with these sort of guys, and his size advantage adds drama to the "no limits" aspect of the division. I also like that Brian Kendrick seems to be stepping up.
I'm glad Eric Young won the TNA TV Title. I am not glad that young has become such a goof. I've got no problem with guys being funny, but it just doesn't make sense. There was some taste to it when he was paranoid about being fired, and then he got serious and formed World Elite. Then he's a goof again? Young should really be pushed, and this is a good step towards that. This was also set up by Young eliminating Gunner in a Battle Royal the week before, I believe. Yay! Continuity!
Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam? Well, in 2001 that would have made the entire internet community wet. Both guys are getting on, but Angle, especially, is still one of the best in the world. If a wrestling fan is familiar with either one of them, then they'd stick around to watch. Also, Angle going over is good, because he's lost quite a few to Jarrett recently, and RVD's had his title shots and can come down a bit.
They are baby-steps, but I can see TNA eventually getting consistently not bad, which is the first step to good, right? Again, this is just by what is on paper...

Noid, you took the words right out of my mouth. Except that I admit I really liked Angelina's lesbo zombie relations with Winter. Man, her hypnotic looks is just OMNOMNOMNOMOM. Stupid or not. :p

As I've said somewhere else, in my opinion, the smart move would be to put the TNA World Title on Ken Anderson at Slammiversary, with Angle becoming the #1 Contender. With the history between Angle and Anderson, another match between the two could just be so good. Just let them wrestle, put Anderson over, and he instantly looks like he belongs as World Champ. Create a new star, TNA. I'm begging you.
Also, I hope they don't scrap the King of the Mountain concept. Do it for a title shot at the August PPV, or something. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Kazarian vs. Matt Hardy? You've got a member of Immortal (who also knows Ladder Matches), three members of Fortune (Eric Bischoff could give them all the shot to try and make the group implode) and Rob Van Dam. Yeah, that could be pretty sweet. Out of those guys, I'd probably go with AJ Styles getting the win. Anderson going over Sting, Kurt Angle and AJ Styles at three straight PPVs is a great way to get his run as World Heavyweight Champion rolling.
Also at Slammiversary, you can have Matt Morgan vs. Scott Steiner, Samoa Joe vs. Crimson, Beer Money vs. Mexican America, Abyss vs. Brian Kendrick, a Gauntlet for the Gold featuring the TNA Knockouts (since there's so much going on in there right now) and maybe a "Full Metal Mayhem" to decide the #1 Contenders for the TNA World Tag Team Championship: The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Generation Me vs. Ink, Inc. vs. The British Invasion. Or something like that. There's nine matches, they all build to future storylines and/or culminate current ones, and all your major players are pretty much on the card.
Include D'Angelo Dinero and maybe Eric Young on the pre-show, just for the DVD. Or as a "free taste" match. Dinero could even go over and win the TNA TV Title.
All TNA really needs to do is get consistent.
