It's May 19th, and that means it's that time of year when we look back on all the wonderful things Kane has done in his career.

Happy Kane Day!

Kane had a pretty killer year (for Kane). A fairly long title reign. A few wins over his brother. Mood lighting.

Now back to normal monster but we don't have much for him Kane so let's stick the tag belt on him to make him still seem important.

Just kidding., He is important. ;)

Was May 19 ever explained?

It was supposed to be the day the fire started, killing his parents and burning his face. He "ran" away from the fire and so that masked "Kane" came back. Or so it was supposed to be anyway.

It was also the release date for See No Evil.

Ya, that was the whole reason for the storyline. It ended up working, the film was a decent success.

I still hope some day they do an angle where Kane goes completely insane (more so, I guess) and reverts back to his old costume, no talking, masked gimmick and just totally ravages the main event scene and wins the WWE Title.

I think a psycho, silent, masked Kane vs John Cena could actually be a decent feud, allowing they have Kane go over him clean once or twice.

Probably won't happen though.

I was glad Glen Jacobs got another run with the WWE/World Heavyweight Title last year, and didn't actually job it out the next night on Raw, considering how long he's been with the company, and all the jobbing he had to do to Talent WWE felt had it...(turns out they didn't)

For a Big Man, Kane is a good worker, and from what I heard, one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Taker even offered to have Kane end the streak, and Kane refused because he felt he wasn't the best decision.

However, Happy May 19th Kane, Thank You for so many years of service, and entertainment

I thought he woulda been done by now, with last years title reign and win over Taker as a thanks for years of service type deal. It's cool to see him partnered with Big Show as it gives him something fresh to do. Usually Big Show get's partnered with charismatic guys who are good on the stick like Jericho and Miz, but Kane has the whole menacing thing which is just as good.

Yah, really would like to see Kane bow out with the mask on. Just to give a bit of circularity to his career and end it the way he began it - as the scariest monster in WWE history.

Probably won't go down that way. Anyroad, Kane has been through good and bad stages in his career but overall I think he's had an awesome run.

That reminds me of that awful Kane impersonator the first appearance was laughable but when he appeared backstage later on in what I recalled was supposed to be all in his head he looked a lot more like the Kane of old.

they need to find big shows twin and have that angle...Kane can be the jealous step brother.

Always liked his theme with lyrics

When he switched to his current one, I thought it was part of a plan to revert him back into an absolute monster... but that didn't happen. So they should have changed it back to this at some point.

I thought it was the night he killed Katie Vick?

Anyway on topic I would like to say my favourite Kane moments include when he blood bathed Austin (quite possibly the first time he spoke as well), when he choke slammed Eric Bischoff off the stage, his recent feud with Taker and but of course:

the whole mystery mistique wouldn't exist anymore since we already know what he looks like and we already know anough about him

going back to "wearing a mask" doesn't work. Kinda like Rey, we already know what he looks like, you know what I mean?

reverting back to the past isn't really the evolution of the Kane.

I get what you're saying, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be about reviving the mystique of Kane, but more about reviving the bad-ass-ery that was the early years of Kane.

Right now he's a mid-carder. Even when he was the World Champion, I don't know if anyone really took him seriously as the champ - probably nothing further than "good for him, he deserves another reign." But we all knew it was nothing more than a thank-you run as the champ, and that it certainly wouldn't last.

I see my suggested angle as a face Kane getting totally screwed over by someone he trusts - kind of like the angle he did with Tori and X-Pac back in 2000, but to an even further degree. He gets wronged, stabbed in the back, and he disappears for a few weeks. Suddenly he returns in his old outfit, mask and all, and starts decimating everybody. Not even matches - just showing up in the middle of main event matches on RAW and totally shit-housing everyone - chokeslams through tables, knocking people unconscious, victimizing everyone in the most brutal ways possible.

They could do an interview segment where somebody tries to interview him mid-ring and he just doesn't speak. They say something like "We know you can talk, Kane, just tell us why you're doing this" and he just shakes his head and Chokeslams the interviewer to hell. Like he's reverted back to his old ways because of whatever wrong happened to him.

I dunno. I just think it'd be a fresh way to restart the Kane character. I don't really see what else they can do with him where he is now, and I believe the best way to bring him to a higher level is actually to go backwards to the grounds that he started on, and give the current generation of fans a taste of what Kane really was in the beginning.

I know the general consensus was people didn't like it... but I LOVED Kane's overproduced promos. Listen to it. He's talking about the goofy Undertaker Vegetative State thing, but I got chills up my spine watching it. The music, the lighting, the video footage intercut with it..... GOLDEN.

I'm a big fan of Kane. One of the things I've always loved is that no matter how badly he's booked, no matter what stupid shit they put him in, he's pretty much always over, and always seems like a threat.

ahaha, that's exactly my response when i saw the topic.

Anyways, Kane in the past had been one of absolute favourite wrestlers ever, but that time has sort of passed. His heel run just (last year??) recently was absolute beast, showing that he has always had it. All I wish is for him to change his look a bit. Not really a big red machine, anymore. I'd love the classic Kane mask to go back on, but I definitely don't think it is necessary.
