From http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/03/10/teennick-goes-retro-with-90s-programming-exclusive/ :

If you’re a twentysomething who’s been jonesing for repeats of All That and Clarissa Explains it All, then this news is for you: EW has learned exclusively that starting this fall, TeenNick will dust off old faves like Rugrats, Kenan & Kel, Pete & Pete, The Amanda Show, All That and Clarissa and air them in a new midnight-to-2 a.m. programming block dubbed (appropriately enough) The ’90s Are All That. The tween cabler came up with the idea after seeing the huge interest in early Nickelodeon programming on social media sites. There are several Facebook pages — followed by millions of fans — that are devoted to Nickelodeon shows from the ’90s.

“At the time, we were completely devoted to that audience ages 9, 10, and 11,” Keith Dawkins, senior VP and general manager of TeenNick, tells EW. “It was ground-breaking and for the young viewers, a powerful and pivotal time in their lives. Those kids who are now 22, 23 and 24 want to bring that back.”

Over time, TeenNick hopes to use the retro block to showcase other ’90s programming and movies. So if you didn’t get a chance to see Good Burger then…

All I can say is, FUCK YES! Just wish they used the Nick at Night block for this.

They better have Are You Afraid of the Dark

This is a really smart move. I for one will definitely be getting totally blitzed before tuning into Nick at midnight for a stoned out walk down memory lane. I hope Stick Stickley makes an appearance, though that might be asking for too much.

Hopefully they will be doing this for Nickelodeon in the UK.

It's a great idea. :y:

Legends of the Hidden Temple HAD been on that Nick Sports channel whatever it is called. Dunno if that even exists anymore.

I'd love to see Are You Afraid of the Dark? again, the last time I watched it on tv was about 4 years ago when Family aired it. The last episode was "The Tale of the Phone Police"

Nick GAS was one of my favorite channels of the last few years, but it's gone now. They used to show nothing but the old Nick game shows from the 80s-90s.

Hopefully this will get them to bring something more of that back. Woo!

If this goes well (and let's face it, it likely will), I could easily see Nickelodeon starting a "Retro Nick" station that airs nothing but 90s stuff (and maybe 80s stuff in the later hours, like 2-5 AM).

"I don't know." *slimed*

"Water?" *drenched with water*

"This stuff looks like it was roadkill. Does Ralph really like to serve us this stuff?" "Dahhh I heard that!"

Yeah, this is def gonna need its own station. With only a 2 hour time block and so many '90s shows to bring back - you'd get like one ep per week of each show. It'll work for awhile, but you'll eventually want to see your top shows every night. Gonna chalk this up as another reason to get DVR. Stupid needing to get up early for work.

There was a rumor a few months back that new eps of Rugrats, Rocket Power, Doug, Hey Arnold, etc. were going to be produced based on the popularity of them on social networking sites. This is better.

Yes, let's remake Doug again. That worked out so well the first time.

Late-20s Doug.

Apparently they're also releasing Hey Dude on DVD.

I'm going to guess that with this and how well Rocko must have sold to prompt this, that pretty much every show will be getting a DVD release.

Apparently there are also Clarissa and Pete and Pete DVDs that came out in 2005. Forgot all about them.
