Today, UFC President Dana White revealed exclusively to the Underground that middleweight's Michael Bisping and Jason 'Mayhem' Miller will coach the fourteenth installment of the Ultimate Fighter reality show.

Speculation has been spread throughout the MMA world on who would fill the roles, from Chael Sonnen, to Michael Bisping, Georges St. Pierre, Nick Diaz, and more. The position was confirmed to have been gone to Chael Sonnen, but his recent troubles with the California State Athletic Commission seem to have made that impossible.

The 14th season of the Ultimate Fighter is expected to include featherweights and bantamweight, a first for the reality show, and will start filming soon.

The UFC President also confirmed that the two will square off in the cage at a yet to be determined date and event. White said that Miller's scheduled bout with Aaron Simpson for UFC 132 will not take place, but Simpson will get a new opponent.

Mayhem has a green mow hawk. That's odd enough. I wonder how the bbd crowd translates to TUF views... Solid soundbites from the coaches are in store. I hope the fighters bring it.

I like Mayhem. There are some Pro-Wrestling antics that I'm perfectly fine with being in MMA. Entertaining Trash Talk and Solid Entrances being the extent of it. Let Mayhem be Mayhem and sit back and rake in the cash.

More than that, though. Dana should seriously try to get a version of Bully Beatdown (if it's done with on MTV) onto Spike. It would make for great exposure for his lesser known fighters. I wouldn't put a Brock Lesnar or a Josh Koscheck on there, but someone who is likable, definitely.

I could definitely see Mayhem pissing Bisping off and giving us some good soundbites. Hopefully their interaction is more interesting than Dos Santos/ Lesnars.

Sonnen/lisping could've been gold. Lesnar/JDS have been dull sound byte wise.

Mayhem on TV for a season, YES.

Really struggling to get excited for this one. Same tired format and two coaches whose hostilities will be mostly manufactured.

They have got to do something different to make it more than just a bunch of dudes working out in a house stocked with alcohol... who might fight once the entire season.

Let them go out to clubs or bring broads to the house or something. It will at the very least make the interactions a bit more interesting.

lol. Team Bisping finally wins a fight and the fighter didn't deserve to win. Akira clearly tapped. Dustin's fault for taking it off and not waiting for the ref to stop the fight though.

Also, love how Bisping played the victim card at the end of the fight when Akira is the one who taunted Dustin to begin with. Oy.

The semifinals are:

Bantamweight semifinal No. 1:

Bantamweight semifinal No. 2:
Team Miller's John Dodson vs. Team Miller's Johnny Bedford

Featherweight semifinal No. 1:
Team Bisping's Akira Corassani vs. Team Miller's Dennis Bermudez

Featherweight semifinal No. 2:
Team Bisping's Diego Brandao vs. Team Miller's Bryan Caraway

My predictions for the finals are:

Bantamweights:
Bedford vs. Dillashaw

Featherweights:
Akira vs. Diego

How about illegally kneeing a grounded opponent in the face on purpose to gain an edge and then spitting on that guy's corner men? And I don't care what he says, he spit on them.

He's also one of the most immature fighters in the UFC while constantly preaching about class and respect.

What Would Kevin Do?
11-10-2011, 03:36 PM
My problem with Bisping on the show is only that he does the immature shit, and then acts like he doesn't. Like when Akira went over to the other corner after the match and started doing shit, and they got pissed, and Mayhem threw water, Bisping acted like they did nothing and it was all Miller.

Also, if I was Akira, I'd be sort of pissed at Bisping since he couldn't train the one day before the fight since Bisping's "prank" made the gym unusable.

12-03-2011, 11:06 PM
Yeah for sure he earned that victory. He could have just layed on Miller landing pot shots but he made sure to get himself in position and land good enough shots to get the refs attention to end the fight. You could tell he was fairly gassed out as well.

I was really pulling for Mayhem in this fight so I'm a bit disappointed he couldn't find a way to win. Maybe it was just the pace of the fight but Mayhem gassed pretty early on. Probably something he should evaluate.

Dodson walked thru his competition and made it look easy.

I agree with Brandao needing polishing. He got caught recklessly storming in and he nearly paid for it. With the right kind of fighter he would have been put to sleep. But holy fuck MONSTER arm bar finish out of nowhere. Very explosive dangerous fighter.

I wonder if the lay-off had something to do with it.

I think he's not as good as everyone wanted him to be. He has a great personality, but as a fighter his biggest accomplishment is almost beating Jake Shields.

I'm almost tempted to say it was the whole Octagon jitters/first fight back in the UFC adrenaline dump thing, but it's not like he was going against GSP in Toronto for the Welterweight strap. It was at the Palms in front of 80 drunks. He's fought in front of much bigger crowds. Didn't seem to bother Nick Diaz too much either and he had a whole shit storm around him.

Even the lay-off isn't that great of an excuse. Chael, Rashad and Big Nog were off just as long or longer than he was and they decimated their opponents when they came back. If he was the real deal, he still may not have won, but he wouldn't have been dominated the way he was either.

I feel like Bisping was a huge step up from the last cans Miller crushed in Japan/Strikeforce and dude got exposed.

I'm sure it did not help Mayhem, but we have seen several fighters come off long layoffs and they did not gas out after Round 1.

I thought it was interesting though that even Bisping had his hands on his knees after Round 1 before he walked over to his corner.

I really want to go back and see how many body shots Mayhem took.

To be fair to Bisping, the Rashad fight could have gone either way, Wandy was close and getting your shit rocked by Hendo isn't really something to be ashamed of.

Outside of Anderson and Chael, most of the 185ers are upper midcard.

I think a re-match with Wanderlei if they want a "name" opponent or a fight against Maia make the most sense right now for Bisping.

Yeah, that was AWFUL. Guy was completely out on his feet and had been rocked at least 5 times and was only managing to stay up/roll around into even more punishment. I am all for giving a guy a chance to recover because I hate early stoppages, but when the fighter is recovering only to be rocked each time you step in. That fight should have been over 10-15 seconds before it was actually stopped.
