From PWInsider:

The All Wheels Wrestling taping on 6/29 at Universal Studios Florida will be a pilot taping for the Speed Network and a potential series to launch in 2012.

Speed has been looking to do a wrestling-related property for many months. As I noted on my Elite Hotline yesterday, one of the hold-ups during talks earlier in the year would be who would own the property and the show.

TNA is involved with the taping as the have purchased the trademark and the domain name for the property. Hermie Sadler is involved in some capacity as well, helping TNA with material needed for the taping.

One source outside of TNA has told me Jeff Jarrett was involved with the launch of the project, but I haven't been able to 100% confirm that. I do know that some people within the TNA office were surprised when word of the taping came out, as it wasn't something being discussed internally and was pretty much developed "off site" as its own entity.

No word on what talents would be involved or how the concept of the series would merge racing and wrestling.

this reminds me when I went to a WCW Nitro and Steve Grissom and the WCW car were there. Then Kyle Petty was driving the nWo car at one point.

Simple: "TNA" announces the aquisition of Thurmann "Sparky" Plugg, better known as Baldcore Holly. This would make total sense in the realm of batshit insanity that is Impact Wrestling.

Lethal and Dutt deserve better than this.

Indifferent about Daivari and Jesus.

Also, I think Cody Deaner got rid of the mullet and became more "serious" or something. I could be wrong though.

They should have just had members of the Mean Street Posse head each team and drive while their theme, on a continuous loop mind you, plays in the background.

From PWInsider:

The All Wheels Wrestling promotion posted more details on the concept of tomorrow's pilot taping for the Speed Network at the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida on their Facebook and Twitter pages, noting:

"Wrestlers can earn points for their team in every #AllWheelsWrestling match & each week will have a different specialty match. Speed matches will give wrestlers a chance to quickly earn several points for their team. Each week, teams will be ranked #1 thru 4 based on the points they’ve earned throughout the season. Fans will be able to track their favorite team's performance online & check the current standings. Teams will compete in a postseason tournament with the winner taking the AllWheelsWrestling Championship Cup."

I'm not a "All Wheels" fan but I like new wrestling concepts and if the cross over actually works I could see this being a small success and a good place for guys to get paid. And that alone makes it worth it. They have a great roster and it could be a good little show.

It's more wrestling on television. I'm all for it.

Unless it turns out to be a TNA clone. Then no thanks.

Jordan

I try to support smaller indie feds with TV and internet exposure because the business needs "regional" replacements of some kind so that we don't have the same problem we've had the past few years which is guy getting to the big leagues with no true TV exposure or experience...

Xero
06-28-2011, 08:50 PM
I really do think the advent of IPPV will rejuvenate the indy scene in the long run, and create essentially a "virtual territories" situation.
