There will never be a truly Black WWE Champion. Discuss.

Define "truly black".
Mommy and Daddy were Black Folk.
Well at least you didn't post a black cock so I have to give you that!
Who was the last black wrestler that was even over? JYD?
St. Jimmy

Scorpio, Ron Simmons, Booker T

Not WWE champion.
Thats sort of silly. WWE Champ, World Heavyweight Champ, all the same too me.
The World Heavyweight Championship is the Minority Heavyweight Championship. Seriously.
Minorities who have held the World Heavyweight Championship, since its inception:
Goldberg
Rey Mysterio
Booker
Khali
List of WWE Champions who have been minorities, since its inception (40 years prior to the WHC):
Inoki (And I'm not sure if this is even recognized)
Iron Sheik
Andre (Not sure if this is officially recognized)
Yokozuna
The Rock
Eddie
Sheamus
Rock, Eddie and Sheamus are the only WWE Champion minorities since the WHC's inception. And in the WHC's 9 year existence, they've had 4. In the WWE Championship's 50 year existence, only seven have held it. That's less than two per decade.
The WHC is the minority title.

There hasn't been a black guy good enough to carry the Title yet..... I'm sorry, but Koko B. Ware & Mabel don't cut the mustard with me.....
that Rock bloke was never over either
Droford
06-11-2011, 08:45 PM
how the hell does Sheamus qualify as a minority?
Droford
06-11-2011, 08:46 PM
doesn't the WWE recognize the WHC lineage back to WCW, which would mean the Ron Simmons won it too?

Rock is only 1/2 black.

06-11-2011, 08:49 PM
and if we're just gonna start listing foreign guys that won the belt than why the fuck not say Bret Hart while you're at it?

It depends on what you believe, really.
http://www.wwe.com/inside/titlehistory/worldheavyweight
That doesn't list it, and that's pretty official.
As far as I'm concerned, the WCW title was absorbed into the WWE Championship and the WHC just uses the same belt.
and if we're just gonna start listing foreign guys that won the belt than why the fuck not say Bret Hart while you're at it?
Dunno, really. Don't really see Canadians as minorities, unless they're French Canadians.
Warrior's the 'biggest' minority champion, not many folk from Parts Unknown get green cards

Alright then I'll make you a bet, if R-Truth wins the WWE title I will fuck Fangles fat sow of a wife.
Pretty sure both titles are equal. Who fucking cares.
Still doesn't take away from the fact that a black person has never won the WWE Championship, even if they are equal. Which I don't believe, because I believe the WWE Championship will always be the title in Vince's eyes, because it's his company's title.

Lashley an Monty Brown would of won it if they'd stuck around.

Lashley definitely would have had a run as champ. Vince definitely loved his chocolate body. Other than that, I don't see any black guys on the current roster or in development that I would want to see as champ other than R-Truth.

funny, out of both feds, WCW was always considered the most racist, compared to the liberal WWF/E
so IMO, Booker becoming the WCW Champ is a bigger accomplishment than most people think

I think his was bigger because not only was he black, but he had been held down for a long time and theoretically deserved the belt a lot soone than he got it.....

I still think Kofi has a chance at being a transitional/MITB champion for a brief time.
Wouldn't that make him more of a token champion than being an actual champion WWE would want to focus the show on?
It would be similar to Christian getting his token title reign as a way for the WWE to be able to show they at least gave him something even though nobody wanted him to be champion (ex. Vince).

Thread was about black champions, so, no there has never been a black WWE champion and no the WHC is not treated the same way.
When has the WWE Championship EVER been defended IN THE FIRST MATCH at a Wrestlemania? Exactly. Honestly, unless they swerve us and put the title on Truth, if even for a brief moment, Kofi is probably next in line to actually have a shot.
