So Time Magazine film critic Richard Corliss released his top 25 animated film list a couple days ago. Now I love my cartoons/cgi/stopmotion films as much as the next guy/girl, but I don't agree with alot of what is on this list.

Use this thread to agree or disagree with Mr. Corliss, but also post your own list. Let's see what other posters put as their #1.

Here's Time Magazine's list:

25. Lady and the Tramp (1955)
24. Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
23. Yellow Submarine (1968)
22. Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! (2008)
21. Kung Fu Panda (2008)
20. Paprika (2007)
19. Tangled (2010)
18. The Lion King (1994)
17. Akira (1988)
16. Happy Feet (2006)
15. Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)
14. The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926)
13. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
12. Toy Story (1995)
11. Toy Story 3 (2010)
10. The Little Mermaid (1989)
9. Finding Nemo (2003)
8. The Triplets of Belleville (2003)
7. Up (2009)
6. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
5. Spirited Away (2001)
4. Dumbo (1941)
3. The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie (1979)

Maybe I'll post my own sometime later on

The Iron Giant should be on that list somewhere.

I don't think South Park is better than Up.....South Park was funnier than Up....but Up beats South Park on so many levels.

Animated seems to span a lot of things like stop motion, computer, hand drawn..

If stop motion is considered than I dont see how Nightmare Before Christmas isn't on the list.

I also dont see how great the Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner movie was that it should be #3. Its nothing but a collection classic animated shorts stiched together..I wouldnt even consider it for a top 100 list really. let alone to be #3 on a top 25 list.

The biggest omission from the list I think would have to be Beauty and the Beast.

I dont think I could do a top 25 list, it would drive me up a wall.

There was a list that came out last year I think. It was a 1000 times better then this.

It's almost laughable that not a one of the following are one the list: Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, Ponyo and My Neighbor Totoro.

No fucking way should that many movies from the 2000s should be on the list. I am in 100% agreement that The Lion King should be #1.

Maybe more than half of the list would be built on Disney movies alone. But too many of them from after 2000 should be bounced. But I'd keep either Up, WALL-E, or Finding Nemo.

I'm sorta with AKin3D, you can't talk about Spirited Away without talking about Princess Mononoke. Maybe Corliss thought it's a bit on the violent side. But hey that's where Akira probably comes in.

Lion King at #18 nullifies this completely.

Shrek?

The lack of this is why the list totally FAILS.
