Haven't seen any other posts about this so...
FX has placed an order for the pilot episode of the Powers series, based on the comic by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. Charles Eglee of Walking Dead fame wrote it (see “Walking Dead Writer to Powers”).
Bendis said in a Tweet, “Powers pilot was just greenlit by FX! It’s official! Your window of reading Powers while it was still cool is running out.”
Charles Dutton has been cast as Captain Cross in the FX pilot based on Powers, according to Deadline. Dutton is the first actor cast for the pilot, which was greenlit in February (see “Powers Pilot Greenlit”).
The Powers comics are by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.
Jason Patric is in negotiations for the role of Christian Walker in the FX pilot based on Michael Bendis’ and Michael Avon Oeming’s Powers comic series, according to Hollywood Reporter. He will play opposite Lucy Punch, who was cast as Deena Pilgrim (see “Female Lead Cast for Powers”). Charles Dutton will play Captain Cross (see “Powers Casting Begins”).
Lucy Punch has been cast as Deena Pilgrim in the FX pilot based on Michael Bendis’ and Michael Avon Oeming’s Powers comic series, according to Hollywood Reporter. Punch joins Charles Dutton, who’s playing Captain Cross (see "'Powers' Casting Begins").
The pilot will shoot this summer.
Punch appears in Bad Teacher, which opens this weekend.
Carly Foulkes, the leggy spokeswoman for T-Mobile who invariably wears pink and spouts apparently useful mobile phone advice, has snared the flashy role of Retro Girl in the pilot episode of the adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis’ Powers comic book series. Bendis revealed the tidbit that Foulkes would assume the role of Retro Girl in an interview conducted last week on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Geektime.
It is the murder of the highly popular Retro Girl that starts off the chain of events in the first narrative arc of the Powers comic, which it appears will also provide the storyline for the pilot episode of this police procedural set in a world where superpowers are common. Foulkes will join a cast that includes Lucy Punch as Deena Pilgrim (see “Female Lead Cast for Powers”) and Jason Patric as Christian Walker (see “Male Lead Cast for Powers”).
