Hey, so with these reports that The Rock may be coming back around Survivor Series or whatever, I've had this thought in my head for a few weeks now. Please forgive me if its been brought up here or not, I've not been as active as I'd like to be lately.
I could see The Rock returning this Sunday night to ensure that John Cena doesn't get fired so there won't be any chance of Cena missing their Wrestlemania match.
Thoughts?

There may be something to this.

Did someone not make this thread weeks ago??.
All though I had the same idea. But
Rock actually turning heel, as I don't see WWE turning CENA.
Rock could actually screw Cena get him fired then brag about it..
No, I do not see this happening at all.

If The Rock getting Cena fired led to The Rock turning heel I'm all for it.

Dude if they turned The Rock heel and it got Cena fired, that would cancel out the heel turn so much that he could get a sex change, insult every fan in the building personally and get popped for it.
The Rock could DDT Little Jimmy and the crowd would go nuts.

I just can't see The Rock returning this Sunday.
There is no money in The Rock making a surprize appearence.

but there will be higher rating for raw the next night to see if he shows up

True, but if you advertised The Rock to appear on pay per view and people pay and he does show up, people are going to tune into RAW the next night anyways hoping he will show up again too.

The idea doesn't sound bad but it would have made more sense for the Rock to tease something like that could happen as a way to hype up the ppv for a lot more potential buys.
I could see them just playing his music right when it looks like CM Punk has the chance to win as a way to distract him and let Cena pull a quick AA or roll-up for the win. The Rock wouldn't actually show up but instead Vince reveals he was willing to do anything to make sure Punk wouldn't leave with the title even if it meant fooling the fans with the music.
It could also let The Rock continue teasing Cena in promos saying it took his music and not Cena's skills to save the WWE title.

The Rock is a money ball. It would be foolish to have him on a PPV without telling the potential viewing audience about it. Kill this noise.

Raw? Sure. PPV? No way.

i think the most likely scenario is the one someone said awhile ago. punk wins, then the raw MITB winner cashes in. thus being the loophole to where cena can lose, and still not get fired because essentially punk isnt leaving chicago with the title. either way i still can not wait to hear that thunderous pop punk is gonna get, and the heat cena is gonna get. im actually really excited for a ppv for once

This is a scenario I could see the WWE doing (it includes a Rock appearance in due time, don't worry):
* Rey Mysterio wins the RAW Money in the Bank Ladder Match. I get a strong feeling that Wade Barrett should be winning the SmackDown! briefcase, and the WWE creating too many new stars, or having two heels holding the briefcases doesn't seem like something they'd do. Out of the faces on RAW, while Kofi Kingston could use the win to build him up, and Alex Riley is super-hot right now -- I think they just go with Mysterio for a couple of reasons: a) He's ready now, b) On RAW, while he is pushed as a top star, his great successes have always been on SD!. A MITB victory would actually be his greatest RAW achievement, and reminds people to buy his masks and shit.
* CM Punk is shown beating down Mysterio backstage. "I'm no fool, Rey. There is no chance you're taking this title from me tonight..."
* The main event sees CM Punk actually defeat John Cena to win the WWE Title. The smarks rejoice and the marks look horrified. CM Punk is over the moon, fulfilling his promise to leave the WWE with its crown jewel -- until Rey Mysterio's music hits. Mysterio hobbles down, as Cole says he is wasting his title shot and whatever. Punk looks enraged at this, and attacks Mysterio as soon as he enters the ring. He hits a GTS on Mysterio, but Rey kicks out. Eventually, just as it looks like Rey is about to be defeated, he pulls out the victory out of nowhere. The WWE Title is Mysterio's, and the WWE is saved.
* On RAW, Mysterio shows off a bit of a cocky personality when he wants John Cena to thank him for saving his job. Not a heel turn, but a bit more swagger than we are used to seeing from Rey. Cena does thank Rey, but says he wants a rematch. Rey says that California is his home state; Cena says he won his first WWE Title in the very building SummerSlam is held in. Rey says that Cena has never faced a guy with a bigger heart than he has -- but he is at SummerSlam, etc.
* The Rock is confirmed as the Special Guest Referee for the match.
Therefore, your SummerSlam main event is:
WWE Championship
Special Guest Referee: The Rock
Rey Mysterio (c) vs. John Cena

If it makes you feel better, the whole thing could also be done with Alberto Del Rio in Mysterio's spot.

The Rock will be back when he has another movie or some other thing to promote :naughty:.
All Takering it easy aside. I don't care about Cena vs. Rock. I think I did when Rock came back. I told myself to give him a chance, that he might not just come around when he has something to promote, I told myself that the Rock might be telling the truth.
Since that moment it seems less likely that the Rock was telling the truth. Sure, he will come around for a moment every couple of months to remind us he is still there and WM is still coming but will he offer anything of substance?
I hope that the previous paragraph is quickly proven wrong and the Rock does show up at MITB or does become a year long story line which seems more committed too.
Can the Rock make me care about any match involving John Cena? Probably not but I'm just Takering it easy.
P.S. John Cena and the Rock are both like a bad hand job. They keep stroking and rubbing, keeping you hard but neither of them can ever make you blow your load. /5movesofdoom

Not this Sunday, anyway. But maybe he'll have some sort of appearance at SummerSlam. Would be right up his alley as he would be literally within a few minutes of the arena at any given time, plus his appearance could be used to help further the "plot" of the eventual encounter between him and Cena next spring.
