Of purchasing tickets to Summerslam this year. My lady and I's anniversary is coming up and she digs wrestling like I do. So why not go to a PPV? We've never been to a WWE show before, so I think it'd be quite the experience.
You guys can use this thread to discuss your past experiences at WWE shows, give some tips to a newbie like me, sign ideas etc.
Rep headed your way. Because you know, a green dot is awesome.

I've only been to a house show, which was about 18 months ago. And I was quite far back.
But Raw and Smackdown are being filmd in Liverpool in November so I'm trying to get myself a ticket for one of those. I know a guy selling a 3rd row ticket for Raw, so I'm hoping he'll hold onto that for a while until I'm not as poor as I am right now.
That's all I can add I'm afraid.
Don't be a dick to the kids. That's about it.

Sounds like a good idea. I've probably been to something like 40 live shows over the years, ranging from local promotions such as Heartland Wrestling Association to WWE PPVs (InVasion (Stone Cold joins the Alliance) and Backlash 2006 (God's wrestling debut)). I almost always have a good time.
Tips? Hmm. Well, I wouldn't bother with signs, if I were you. They seem like a fun idea to maybe get on TV for half a second, but they usually end up becoming a pain in the ass to carry around. Also, there's the chance you put any sort of effort into one and it gets confiscated at the gate. A friend of mine (a girl, mind you) got her sign taken at Backlash. It was when Carlito had that shirt that asked "DO YOU SPIT OR SWALLOW?". Her sign said "HEY CARLITO, I SWALLOW". Clever, I thought. Not so much to them. I had a sign that said "CENA DOESN'T SUCK...THAT BAD". He definitely stopped and stared at it during his entrance, looking very confused.
What else...ah, seats!
Your first inclination (if you're willing to pay for it) is going to be to get floor seats. Floor seats are great if you can get somewhere within the first five rows or so, but anything beyond that, your best bet is going to be the very first level above the floor. The floor gets muddled, and it can be hard to see if people are annoying with their signs. Back in the day, kids on the floor used to run up to the barricade at the beginning and end of every match to try and slap hands with their favorite superstars, but that behavior seems to have been quelled today. The first level up will give you a nice view of everything, and it's stadium seating, so you don't have to worry about some tall dickhead with a big hat or something being in front of you.
I'm going to keep going here...
Don't be reserved. You may feel like a big nerd for cheering or booing, but the fact of the matter is that you're already there, so you may as well make the most of it. I've noticed that the more I get into the show, the more inclined the people next to me are to do the same thing. It's just more fun that way. Especially when you're a Cena fan sitting next to a Punk fan (or any other example you can think of). Getting drunk may aid you here. Be mindful of your surroundings though, because a lot of today's audience will be kids, so you probably shouldn't yell things like "FUCK ZACK RYDER" around them. You probably already knew that much.

WWE shows are generally excellent live. Even if people whinge and bitch about the content on the internet, the live atmosphere of an event is awesome. If you can afford to go, (and your missus likes it... Summerslam tickets... best anniversary gift ever), then go for it.
Just gonna throw out that I was at the first ever UK tapings of Raw and Smackdown back in October 2004. Been to some house shows since then, but none-the-less that is my claim to fame.
Also, since you're new here, a good sign idea like 'Malfeitor TPWW' would get you over huge! It worked huge for Dave Youell at Wrestlemania 19. :D

i found it to be best if you're on the same side as the main camera as there are plenty of dickwads that constantly hold up signs, which they wont do if they aren't facing a camera.
also please don't be obnoxious and annoying the entire fucking time, i almost had an experience ruined because of idiots that do that

This.
I have been in the middle of the floor seats, and it sucks. The people in front of you won’t sit down, and the people behind you get mad when you stand up. It was not a fun experience.
I have also sat on the first level above the floor seats, and it was awesome. Judgment Day 2003, I think that was the year. When ever it was in Nashville, TN. You could see everything, including the top of the Cell when HHH and Jericho climbed up there. Perfect view of the entrance too. And as a bonus, if your on the side opposite the cameras, you can see yourself on future WWE DVDs (if anyone is interested, me & my brother are both wearing "Hogan STILL Rules" t-shirts and sitting together in any of those matches from that event).
Nose bleeds aren't terribly bad, for the price.

ABT, good information there. Thank you very much. Depending on where my seats are, I'll consider a TPWW sign, Ramm. :)
Sixx, don't hate! Hater.
I'm definitely not afraid to geek out at a wrestling show, if I'm going to pay money, I'm definitely going to make sure to enjoy it.
Also, my girlfriend is probably more excited than I am. Getting my tickets Saturday. Bitchin'.

You get none.
Sixx, send me a wizard hat and I'll make damn sure that she wears it.
Will you make her wear it when you two have sex?
I'll buy a wizard hat and send it to you, if you promise to do so and take pics.

Beerfest fucking rocks. The Beerfest drinking game = pick a member of team USA and drink what they drink. Loads of fun. :y:
But back on topic- From what I understand, and what most people have said, the floor seats are a mixed blessing. A friend of mine got lucky and was sat pretty much behind the announce team.

There are my tickets. Fucking rad. Section 106. Row 11. Seats 3 and 4.

Great seats. :y:
That's probably the best placement you can get outside of first three rows or so. In terms of level, anyway.

Definitely. I am looking forward to it. The view should be pretty damn good. :)

Summerslam in LA again, what a shocker.
SS is the only one of the BIG(ones that matter) ppv's I need to attend, but I'll have to wait for it to get back to the midwest.
I hope you guys have a good time, live shows are a lot of fun even if the card sucks.

Yeah, great work on the seats. I'm gonna try to get seats like that next time I go to a show in Bridgeport...the arena is small so there really aren't any "bad" seats per se. I've sat close on the floor and it ruled...but I've also been stuck far back on the floor many a time and I felt like I had to stand 90% of the show.

I've been to 4 Raws and 4 Smackdowns in the UK, plus been to WrestleMania once.
As everyone said the atmosphere is amazing, and you have scored some pretty sweet seats.
You will have a great time whatever the card. guaranteed.

I sat in the fifth row on the floor (which was the last row) for Smackdown a few months ago. It was good. You definitely have to stand at times to get a good view. I'm in that .gif of E&C doing the 5 second pose the night Edge had to retire.
I would probably agree that the first level would be the best. Depending on how arenas are set up I could see how the floor seating would be obnoxious to some. It's a bit deceiving from TV to the live event how little floor seating their actually is. The way they shoot it for TV makes it look like the whole arena floor is packed with people. That's not really the case. I had forgotten that aspect about the live events.

I read on the front page that something big is supposed to go down involving Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam. Take that for whatever it is worth. It's Ryan Clark, so who knows.

Awesome seats, and Thrilla hit it all on the head... you should mark out for anything you wanna mark out for, don't be the dickhead around the children booing Cena etc... I would expect Cena to be pretty over in LA, so it would be more fun to cheer than boo.
I hate people who wanna show that they are a smark and just go against the show.
Cool chick though that you got to wanna do that, hope she likes it.
