View Full Version : WWE considering a 'physical' HoF (read: HoF building)

According to a source, WWE has made the decision to start construction on a physical Hall of Fame. WWE officials are still looking for a city to put it in but Orlando, FL has at least been talked about. It should also be noted that WWE has been purchasing legendary memorabilia in recent weeks and plan on putting them in the new building.

From the front page, btw. Sounds pretty awesome to me. Just wondering, how many of you would actually go if they built something like this?

This is quite old "news". I like the idea.

I'd never heard anything about them even coming close to considering an actual HoF building/museum/whatever in the past, but that's just me. Decided to post it in here because I figured it was "brand new" and would generate a bit more attention/discussion in here.

I had heard Detroit was a potential choice which seems like a perfect spot. Fuck Florida.

I think it would be cool if they detached the Hall of Fame from Wrestlemania weekend and did some sort of deal where the hall of famers were inducted on Saturday night and then they did a PPV like Night of Champions or something on Sunday.

Right, because never mind that the HoF ceremony has traditionally been held at that point (the night before Mania) since 2004.

they should build an actual hof..without that it seems dopey to induct people in, and there is nowhere to show off their accomplishments

if i had a vote for location it would be nyc..but that could be tough

Detroit or Orlando would be cool bc I'm not far from Orlando and my parents are still in Detroit. Orlando makes more sense because more people visit Orlando than the D.

HQ is here in Connecticut. I'd figure find a plot of land somewhere here in the region and build it up. Find it weird they would build it up in some random city.

They should put it in Parts Unknown

If I were ever to be in Florida, I would efinitely go out of my way to go..... However, I probably would not book a vacation with the sole purpose to go there but I would apply for a job as a tour guide of sorts..... that would be awesome....

That's a very good point, and I'd be very happy to check out the HOF if it were to be built in Connecticut. However, I'm wondering if McMahon et. al would rather have the building in a state that might attract more tourists than Connecticut, such as Florida.

They should put it in Las Vegas if they want a purely tourist destination where people might visit the HOF in addition to doing other things, because theres no way people would go on a trip just for the WWE HOF itself, sort of how the Baseball Hall of Fame is in the middle of nowhere in Upstate New York.

New York mane, close to the Garden as possible. WWE has always been New York.

Welcome the WWE Port-a-Potty of Fame, cause thats about the size they could afford in NYC proabably. They had a building in NYC (WWE Times Square) and couldnt afford to keep it.

Orlando is not really a random city...... It has tons of people who go there for vacation all year round.

Detroit, ehhh that city is random and a terrible choice.

Connecticut does not really have that much of appeal and would be kind of close to the Baseball HoF (Which they will not want to compete with). Basketball HoF is a dud, so being by them does not matter.

I like the idea, but I think a place near the garden would be better.

I'd much rather visit the Liberace Museum or Madame' Tussaud's Wax Museum when I'm out in Las Vegas.

Fact: McMahon bought the old Debbie Reynolds casino out in Las Vegas back in '98. Didn't even get off the ground.

+1 for Vegas, and they should make it a Madam Tussad's type HoF with wax 1:1 replicas of the Hall of Famers in their prime

It would have been a good idea to just convert their failed restaurant building in New York into the Hall of Fame building instead of just keeping all the memorabilia and stuff in a basement or storage closet for all these years.

I've heard of them possibly using some of the land they own alongside their corporate headquarters as the spot or at least a WWE hotbed area but never Florida as a spot.

maybe it will be as awesome and cool and successful as WWF New York was.... wait....

They were planning on doing that on next week's iMPACT!

I do not see this working simply because as soon as a wrestler in the HoF pisses Vince off a display will have to be removed and due to some already in it being with other companies or on VKM bad side some very big names will not be included.

The real question is what memorabilia would you choose to have in the hall of fame?

Mae Young and Mark Henrys hand.

It should be in CT. Makes no sense to put in a hurricane prone part of the country.

I never understood why Vince didn't help the Hart family keep the mansion, even if it was just to turn the building into a wrestling school or even turn it into a few appartments and keep the basment the way it was.

The Hart family im sure could have kept it between Owens wife and Bret (maybe if they were on better terms with vince at the time)

but wouldn't the Hart Mansion have made a great Hall of Fame (despite being in the middle of nowhere in a place that isn't very touristy, maybe it could be the canadian branch...)

Why would you put it in Detroit? Seriously. That is such a random place. Is it because Florida, California, and New York are overrated?

They'd all be better choice then Alberta, You can tell that was after my first bong hit since after work.

They still should have saved that house for some sort of wrestling musiam/historical building.

Of the places named thus far i'd have to say the best place to have it would be in the same area as WWE HQ as it would be a nice area to actually visit and it close enough to the Canadian border.
