Gonna be something special.
Jones knows he wanted to laugh too. He wanted to. But Rampage beat him to it.

That was bloody amazing. I love Rampage. Jones will kill him, but I still love him.

that was awesome. i don't really understand jones getting all up in his face then looking away tbh.
that said, rampage is going to get killed. jones' reach will once again be the deciding factor.

I just don't have faith in Jon jones ability to slug it out. If rampage has solid TDD, and he can stay close/Inside...HE WILL BEAT JON JONES

how on earth would he stay close inside? shogun was reduced to taking ridiculous potshots that got nowhere near connecting. and given jackson didn't have much joy getting kneed in the head by wanderlei i reckon he might suffer there too.

It's called footwork, and if Jackson can close range and keep it standing, he's got a very good chance of winning, Jackson packs some serious dynamite in his fists and has a chin of granite. Jones leaves openings, he is not a technical sriker and his footwork is just plain terrible, he gets away with it because he so long. But if someone can work their way inside he could have some problems. I don't see Jones as unbeatable, and both Machida and Evans will be waiting for him, and both could beat him imo.
I don't how much stock I would put in the Silva/Jackson fight from 7 years ago.

Fuck it, I'm picking Rampage to win, KO, round 3.

nobody can get within jabbing range of jones, nevermind close enough to start throwing hooks. and if he does get that close jones' trips and throws and elbows and knees are all very damaging. i haven't seen rampage fighting off his back that i can remember but i imagine that's the last place he'd want to end up.

Rampage stuffed some Evans takedown later in their fight and Evans has much better takedowns. Its all well and good that his knees and elbows are damaging, they are also very wild and unorthadox, leaving openings for counters.
Shogun did nothing to try and get inside of Jones, which is why Jones just stays at distance and throws whatever he wants.

yeah but you're thinking shoot takedowns whereas i am thinking more the shit he pulled out against bonnar

He has to get into Rampage's range in order to do that though.

nah i'm not saying he's going to try to do that, i'm saying that will be what happens if/when rampage gets in close, he will just get tied up and taken down.

Jon jones is super talented when you fight his fight. I think that anyone who decides to fight the fighter, instead of fighting the hype (ironic that I'm paraphrasing his words) will be able to put him in DANGEROUS AND DEEEEP WATERS....which is exactly why he didn't want Evans.
But I digress

So he's going to stand with Jackson? I beleive that's what Rampage wants to happen, I don't see this being a good match up for Jones.
