Jim Johnston is legend. Every theme in the WWE bar Punk's and Taker's were composed by him. The only thing that has changed is that Jim no longer performs all of them; I think he contracts bands to perform them. They work, because he knows how to make music work.

Really?

Yeah. You'll notice a lot of the guys start out with instrumentals that he composed and when they get over enough they get a band to do a song to the instrumental.

Wasn't Christian's originally that band who did the first version of that theme?

And Edge's was Alter Bridge's through and through, but for everyone else, I think he's right.

Yeah, there are very few that aren't either Johnston-composed or production themes. And that's because "real songs" are expensive to use.

I do wonder if WWE retains the right to Metalingus, or if it's a license and down the line when they release Edge material they'll have to edit it out. They do with with Never Gonna Stop.

Punk said on Bill Simmons' podcast that he chose to change the music

don't know if we're still arguing about that though

New theme is growing on me, Punk has a point, it really fits him better than "This Fire" right now. I can't believe I am legit interested in the WWE again. Have no idea what's going on on Smackdown, but this Punk shit has me hooked.

I like Cult of Personality. Good guitar riffs, great lyrics (that fit Punk to a T if you don't know em) and a distinct guitar rift that starts the whole song that's different from everyone else.

Waterproof Blonde's version is way better. But that was still written by Jim. It has the exact same guitar as Blood Brother.

I figured Motorhead would be on that list, hence the query... although I guess the Game is just a add-on to My Time, and Kings of Kings is an add on to that, so maybe JJ did do both...

Talented guy.

Dolph Ziggler for president.

There wasn't a single shitty match on Raw (Divas serve their purpose).

Dolph FINALLY started using the Downstait version of his theme. I'm not gonna lie, I marked like a total bitch when I heard it.

Looks like The Miz may be up to something. I almost forgot about that. It almost feels like he wants to bring back McMahon.

Yep. Btw, this theme song is used during his ROH era.

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NzdUy90vTuk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And I liked it better than his Killswitch Engage theme.

I got this CD shortly after it came out as part of my BMG Music Club introductory offer. Still have the disc.

Here's my thoughts:

I didn't know that Punk used Cult of Personality in ROH, as I'm a bit of a WWE snob. Spoiled myself on his return because I haven't had a chance to watch Raw as it happens for a couple months, but still marked out.

I'm willing to bet that JR coming back is a short-term thing just to mine some more comedy gold from Michael Cole. It'll be interesting to see just how far WWE will push the "You're under contract so you'll do what I tell you" thing this time - they didn't go as far as I felt they could have a few years back with JBL/HBK in a similar story, but Raw has been a bit edgier as of late.

Now that Ryder has a "real" Internet Championship belt (see http://youtu.be/bFvRSBHu47E if you don't know what I'm talking about), I wonder if he'll be set to feud with Dolph "Follow THAT" Ziggler or if he'll have to wait until Morisson is done with R-Truth.

Or maybe Ryder is still gunning for the tag champs.

Pretty sad when the tag titles are a step up.

What the fuck is the 'tag titles'?

Something with less current prestige than the Internet or Million Dollar Championship.
