If there's another thread, fuck it. I'm too lazy to search this morning.

Anyone playing it? It's a Third Person Shooter/mech game mixed with tower defense elements put out by Double Fine. I'm normally not big on DF games, but this one is surprisingly...Competent. And fun.

If it has one failing it's that it could really do with some more variety. The guns all start to get kinda similar later on, and there aren't a huge number ofcampaign missions to choose from, so you're probably going up against the same threat quite a few times.

But for a 15 dollar game, it's pretty damn solid.

I beat it, and was a bit disappointed. It's certainly not a bad game, but I was put off by the lack of variety (as you said). Would have had a better experience if I had some friends to play it with, because the online match-making is pretty terrible; people can change the level they want to play on a whim to the point that every time I made a decision someone would just change it immediately after, and I had teammates quit a ton mid-match as well. Ended up skipping a few early mission because everyone wanted to play the later ones all the time.

It's got some good humor, and I enjoyed hearing the guys at Double Fine talk about its development on GB. Brad Muir seems like a pretty cool dude.

I only played online with randoms yesterday. I wish I could team kill in this game. Seriously, one dude dropped collection prongs to keep us from gettting any scrap, and would run around and cock block people. My buddy and I were trying to gold star Farnsworth, and him slowing us down really fucked us.

The next set of douchebags I played with were intent on stealing my tube kills, even if it meant the ship was overrun by the areas they were guarding two seconds before.

I finally just quit out. It was that annoying.

Game would probably be pretty awesome with three friends though.
