VINCE McMAHON has revealed The Rock has signed up to wrestle at various WWE events over the next 12 months.

The wrestler turned actor is scheduled to fight John Cena at next year's WrestleMania and has promised fans he will be involved in this November's Survivor Series.

But in a conference call with WWE shareholders, McMahon confirmed the multiple-time world champion will compete at other PPV shows stretching beyond April's Mania.

He also praised Rock's financial impact within the company, saying his hosting of this year's WrestleMania generated more than £17million of revenue and that travel packages for next year's show sold out in just two days.

McMahon's comments also dispelled internet rumours that the Cena v Rock WrestleMania match may be in jeopardy due to complaints within the company about it ruining the new direction of storylines.

I just hope The Rock appearing at the PPV's aren't half assed like some of his RAW appearances. It was great to see him on TV again, but at the same time disappointing to see how effortless it looked. His heart clearly isn't 100% in wrestling anymore and it shows. Maybe once he gets in the ring working again we'll see more passion from him...

Fuck you pal. Me not liking his half assed work since returning is my opinion. If you wanna be content with it, fine, but don't expect me to do the same. It's clear he doesn't put all his energy in it, so why do it? I think you are the one who needs to read and stop taking this shit so seriously.

If by that you mean critisize them for their flaws, yeah I do complain alot. I'm fucking entitled to bitch about it, and not mark out for no reason. It's becoming very obvious you like anything they do and aren't very objective about WWE.

Oh and btw, there have been several things I liked about WWE, but this isn't one of them. You apparently cannot even see that Cena has been carrying all this fued thus far, while The Rock hasn't done much of anything. So, trying to explain something rationally to you is a lost cause. But, I'm not gonna say I like something shitty if it sucks. Being content with the shit WWE churns out is the fucking reason WWE doesn't listen to their fans anymore...

Honestly as much as I love Rock being back, theres nobody for him to face outside of Cena and Orton.

Guys like Morrison and Christian etc arent stars, its the equivalent of Rock facing jobbers like Road Dogg & Perry Saturn back in the day.

Yeah we all have the right to bitch, but come on your like 3 years too late. Nobody here wants to go through that shit again. The majority here are really enjoying the product and giving props being they are absolutley trying to make it better on a daily basis.

I'm not trying to be insulting now but really tell you something here. You will enjoy wrestling more if you don't expect them to book it for you. All of us are cynical at times and have the right to be, but you truly don't seem to like much that's happening and keep raining on the parade of good things coming out.

Honestly, I'd just prefer you had a better experience watching WWE and stop expecting them to book it for you and enjoy what they are coming out with. Because dude, it's the best it's been in a long long time.

I wish the Rock would stay gone.

He was boring and stale at the end of his time in WWE when he was actually here all the time. Now we get a guy who -- outside of the occasional funny one-liner -- is just as boring and stale as he was years ago, and is phoning in anything he does. (Sometimes literally. "I Bring It -- Via Satellite.")

I know that, from a business standpoint, this is probably a smart move because of the millions.... AAAAnnndd millions of the mindless fans... but good God I don't have to like it. WWE has been doing so much that is working... and then we add the Rock's boring ass.

I like how he promised he was here to stay... and hasn't been seen but once in like 5 months. Way to keep your promise, jackwagon. I really hope Cena beats his ass. Or CM Punk is introduced to the main event and beats both Cena and the Rock. Just as long as Rock jobs.

Thing is if The Rock continues his ways he may eventually turn a large part of the audience to Cena's side, then at Wrestlemania in Miami the crowd will be electric and probably 100% pro Rock, which I think is an interesting dynamic much like the Punk/Cena rivalry with the fans controlling so much.

I don't really see how I'm 3 yrs too late on The Rock returning recently. As far as his pre WM and post WM stuff this year, he hasn't impressed me thus far. His mic work is clearly not good as it once was and his lack of effort in this fued is apparent. To me, all his return now has been aimed to do is respond to all the insults Cena did about him. That is a very crappy reason to come back. If it's not to entertain the fans and only about his ego, why even bother with it?

And the flaws I see in WWE are things that should be obvious to any long time viewer of wrestling. The shows are getting better, no doubt about that. However, to claim pointing out the flaws is wanting the booking to cater to me personally is a ludicrous statement. The Rock will have to do better than he did his last appearances in order to make this fued exciting. It's good he's scheduled for more PPV's, but I hope he'll bring more than lame insults and a bad Fruity Pebble joke this time...

Nah, it is pretty cool.

Except for how much time he used up at Wrestlemania which resulted in two guys being knocked off the card and two matches lasting barely a minute.

Okay I see where your coming from. Yeah The Rock is turning into kind of a jabroni and I don't really care because he is the heel in this feud. He takes the more adult approach to bashing Cena, while Cena prove his worth in the ring and speaking the truth about the holes in the Rock's new gimmick and attitude.

If you have seen the photo of The Rock they did for press he had camo Cena shorts on with the goatee. He looks like a heel, he's a prick, and if you have herd some of his more candid interview of late he has spoken so egotistically that there is no way the majority of the WWE universe will end up in his corner come Wrestlemania. I think that will stand true for PPV buyers but of course likely the crowd at Mania will be pro Rocky.

What you've said is true, I just don't think it's a bad thing.

I'm nervous for the Rock to wrestle before Mania, but makes obvious sense. I just don't want anything to take away from his return to WM.

I wonder what they are thinking about doing with him? It seems like Survivor Series needed a big PPV buy boost so Rock's already confirmed himself for the show, not as a wrestler (yet anyway), but he'll be there.
Would having the Rock in a classic Survior Series match against team Cena be awesome or what?

Especially if they booked it so that Cena and The Rock weren't in the ring at the same time until the end of the match, that would be awesome.

WWE needs to STOP LIVING IN THE PAST!!!

This is not like Terry Funk coming out of retirement :shifty:

This is Rocks second (maybe third?) return, he's still relevant. I agree, his appearances shouldn't be at the expense of the Del Rio and Miz of this world. But if Rock can take the compulsory Cena-job match away from these guys at ppvs, allowing those guys to have great feuds without having to tap-out to a STFU at the end, all power to the Rock.

Plus look what they've done to rejuvinate HHH, he's all over TV now and it's only helping the product. (Minus the pedigree to Ryder :nono:)

I now predict The Rock to be a surprise entrant in the Rumble. He eliminates John Cena and the road to Wrestlemania officially begins there. That's assuming Cena isn't holding the belt at that time.

Meh.

I've been one of the few that aren't pro-Rock but if this helps build the Mania match I'm all for it. Really not interested in the match at the moment but it's a long way off. Hopefully they can fill the time between now and April with some good stuff.

Depending on how far apart the dates he can work, it should be mostly good news because now he doesn't have to just be focused on Cena and could even help Punk or a few other wrestlers like the last time he was on the roster before taking his huge break.

"Wazz up wit dat" is that I believe his TNA deal is not up yet, so he can't sign with WWE, let alone show up on tv.

I think Foley has to wait until his TNA contract is/would have expired. Until then, no Mick.

At least, that's what I heard. It could be totally, completely, 100% wrong.

Anyway... Rock is boring. He was boring then, he's more boring now. I do agree with Punk -- the fact a guy who hasn't been wrestling for years is suddenly headlining Mania makes me sick.

What DO you like? Goddamn you find something wrong with EVERYTHING.

Like I said before, I'm not gonna claim I like something if it sucks. While there were a few decent moments between Cena and Rock, for the most part it's been kinda boring. I never thought I'd side with Cena on the issue, but Rock not being there takes all the excitement out of this storyline. Hopefully that can change with more appearances by The Rock, but so far his lackluster insults and retorts haven't been impressive. Doesn't really inspire much confidence if the only reason The Rock shows up is to respond to Cena's insults and not further the match.

If something like this has it's flaws, I'll point them out. I don't mind giving WWE their props if they are worthy of it, but they haven't done much with this. Something this big can peak the interest of new fans. Not if they don't do it right though. Maybe you wanna mark for everything WWE does, but I'm gonna keep being objective here...

Apparently, most ppl here think it's a crime to judge wrestling objectively. Yeah, there are things I do like about the shows. But I'm not gonna kiss WWE's ass and say they are perfect(far from it). That's the whole damn reason WWE doesn't listen to their fans right now. Ignorant marks like the show regardless and don't demand better quality for the shows.

On a side note, I did a thread a week or so ago saying RAW was headed in the right direction. The shows are better now than they have been in 5-6 yrs. However, to not point out their inconsistency would be blindly marking out for them. This fued with Rock/Cena is a perfect example of something that could've been major, but turned out more lame than it should've been...

No, it just seems to me most here critisize me for not liking every single thing WWE does. As I said before, it's that kind of logic that has put WWE in the boat of not listening to their fans. Ppl here like accusing me of marking out, then turn around and do the same thing. The only difference is I don't state my views as fact. It's real easy to take something out of context then try to pass it off as my ignorance.

The bottom line for me is if you think everything the WWE does is good, you are a WWE mark. Pointing out the flaws WWE has and expecting better quality from them is being objective. Or at least that's what I consider the definition of the word to be. Taking the approach that everything WWE churns out is gold doesn't make it so...
