I was lookin back at some of the old WCW matches and I have acouple of questions.
1 When did Hulk Hogan become Hulkamania again/ was there a story behind it? I saw he won the title in 99 from Savage and was wearing the NWO black and white (still used NWO music). Then he was "American Made" at Road Wild that year.
2 Was there an official end to the NWO the first time? I know there was NWO 2000 but before that did they actually end it in a segment?

1. Nah, he was just a babyface in the black and white garb at one point and then appeared one day in the red and yellow while Tony Schiavone marked out like he'd just cured cancer
2. I don't recall specifically but I don't think there was a definitive 'break-up', it just kind of fizzled out/stopped being mentioned. Not 100% though

Wasn't it the russo era where he became red and yellow again? and then FUNB Terry Bollea later that year.

I don't remember that at all. I remember him going "worked shoot" Terry Bollea and dressing like an ex-con biker for awhile, then it was back to Hollywood black & white.

I seriously don't remember him donning the "red & yellow" again until he was back in WWE.

I can't remember exactly, but if I recall it was in a tag match, something like Goldberg, Sting and Hogan vs Sid Vicious, Rick Steiner and...? DDP?

Pretty much as CSL said, he was black and white one week, and then came out in red and yellow and Schiavone marked the fuck out. And this happened around mid-1999.

As for the NWO, they kinda just fizzled out, until all that was left was the jobbers: Vincent, Horace Hogan, Stevie Ray, Bryan Adams and Scott Norton. Don't remember what happened to them though... they just fizzled out too I guess.

I've got it on DVD at home so I'll check it out for sure, but that's the match as I remember it. Some kid who had been hanging around for weeks was begging Hogan to re-wear the red and yellow.

Then some shit went down and Sting didn't trust Hogan, but it turned out to be Luger that was pulling all the heel shit.

I remember him being in a six man tag match where he started the show as black and white... and then he saw his kid or something in the back, and when it came time for the match he came out in the red and yellow.

I think his partners were Sting and Goldberg

I remember watching it that week, wasn't it his son Nick? He asked Hogan backstage to wear the yellow and red?

So Hogan became a face while still "Hollywood"? I remember the epic 1999 Uncensored match where Hogan was pinned via submission in that barbwire steel cage first blood match (when I was 11 it was the greatest thing I had ever seen) How did Hogan become a face after that?

I believe Flair and hogan did a double turn at Uncensored 1999. Arn Anderson gave a tire iron to Flair and Flair hit Hogan.

Yeah here was the deal.....the match where he won the title from Savage was kind of a stupid deal because I think Savage was attacked during the match and Hogan was out as well, but he somehow had made the cover and won the title. When he came around he acted surprised. The next week or so, Hogan was getting ready for his match and Nick asked him to wear the red and yellow, which he did. After all that he had a little feud with Sting which set up Sting's short-lived heel turn before Russo pulled the plug on it and Hogan wouldn't be seen again until early 2000.

The real end of the 'true' nWo occured after Starrcade '97 when they split up between people following Hogan and those following Savage. Savage's group would later become the Wolfpac(nWo red and black). Nash, Luger, and even Sting would end up in this group, but Savage suffered an injury and Sting got hurt as well. By the end of '98 the Wolfpac was pretty much Nash, which led to him winning the belt from Goldberg and the famous fingerpoke of doom in early '99 when Hogan came back. That's when the feud between Flair and Hogan started that led to the barb wire match. I've remembered all this without going to look it up so I apologize if something isn't right.

I actually remember that Hulk Hogan went Red and Yellow the very same day that Y2J debuted in WWF. Jim Ross made a comment on one of his Ross Reports about how WWF was looking to the future and WCW's answer was to bring back the past.

Very vividly remember that. If it wasn't the same day, it was within a week of eachother.

His first night back in Red and Yellow was on nitro, Its on the best of Nitro box set and I watched it the other day but CBF rewatching it.

Only stick in my mind coz the announcers went apeshit and the crowd was pretty meh tbh.

Don't try to figure this kind of thing out in regards to WCW's failing years, you'll give yourself a brain hemorrhage.

Yet the WWF later also brought back the past. It's all about money with these guys. Whatever sells, they push.
