Andre and The Undertaker fill the same void, big men with the legendary streak. Andre went 13 advertised years undefeated and we all know the legend of The Undertaker. Both men didn't need to be in a title feud to reach their status, while The Undertaker reigned with gold much longer and often, we all know he didn't need it. Which one in 10 years will be hailed as the the biggest attraction in Wrestling history?
Andre. While Undertaker is awesome and absolutely a legend, Andre was really a first of his kind and really one of a kind. In the grand scheme of the business, Andre means a lot more than Taker, and always will.

Probably Andre the Giant to be honest.
I personally don't really give a shit about Andre, he was before my time and anything of his I've seen hasn't really impressed me, but overall Andre seems more of a 'pop culture' type icon. Dunno really, kinda like Hulk Hogan, outside of wrestling most people know who Andre the Giant is. As legendary as Undertaker is in pro wrestling, most non-wrestling fans probably have no idea who he is.

I dunno about that man, if you ask most American's who The Undertaker is I am sure the words "wrestler", "WWE", "WWF", or "Deadman" will come up. I dunno I'll try it out at work tomorrow. Although truly undebated will go Andre as "wrestler" or "Princess Bride".

Also, American's only make up about 6% of the worlds population.

That's only because this generation knows The Undertaker. If you take out the factor of the current generation and take it 20 years from now (10 is too soon IMO), Andre will be a bigger, much more important part of wrestling. The Undertaker played in an already-established world. Andre the Giant was partially responsible for building that world.
Also, speaking relatively (amount of fans now versus amount of fans in the 70s and 80s), I think I can safely say that Andre was a much bigger draw on his own than Undertaker ever can be. Andre was a true spectacle in and of himself. The Undertaker is part of a spectacle.
The Undertaker vs. Anyone isn't necessarily going to draw. Andre the Giant vs Anyone was a virtual guaranteed draw.

andre was and still is a part of popular culture. you say his name and people know who you're talking about. with the undertaker, you mention him and you'll get the recognition mainly from fans who have been rasslin' fans at some point during the past 20+ years

In 10 years? Will go with The Undertaker because of how the WWE will remind of so often of his streak. He will also have a few matches that will go down as all time great Wrestlemania (And probably overall) in history.

Andre mabe.... honestly it depends on where the business goes from here and how much WWE pushes Taker down peoples throats from here on out though. So I'm gonna say Andre for now, but really only time will tell.

Andre..... Taker can put on some great matches, but Andre was a Giant..... people paid money not to see him wrestle, but just to see him in person.....
If that isn't the definition of an attraction, I don't know what is.....

But in 10 years from now?
Ten years from now, Andre will still be dead.

All depends on how WWE chooses to write its history to the next generations.

Yeah when you say "Andre the Giant" people know who he is.
When you bring up Undertaker, you tend to get the "isn't he like a wrestler or something?" question.
This is to the average Joe, at least from what I've seen.

Andre will mean more to wrestling, while the Undertaker will mean more to the WWF/WWE.

Honestly, I think most people know the name Andre the Giant but when they consider who the biggest wrestling attraction was 10 years from now, most people will say Undertaker because most of the people debating this 10 years from now would have actually seen the Undertaker perform and Taker will likely still be fresh in their memory whereas Andre would have been dead for 30 years.
It's like anything in sports or entertainment. Oscar Robertson, Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain were just as good and popular in their day as Jordan, Dirk or Kobe in this generation, but the more recent guys get the nod as greatest of all time.
in the wrestling industry, it will be the Undertaker. He's surpassed Andre in the same way Steve Austin, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan surpassed Lou Thesz and Bruno Sammartino, just because somebody came first doesn't mean they stay there, he's been around longer, he's had the much more expansive and visible body of work, he's the better performer and has been part of far more "marquee"/classic matches (I don't see you're "average wrestling fan" naming more than one Andre match, of course being WM III) Andre will always be remembered fondly and outside of wrestling will probably remain the more famous of the two but from a 'business' viewpoint (which the first post seems to imply), it's Taker and it's not really very close.

Biggest general attraction will go to Andre on sheer size alone, biggest pro wrestling attraction will be Taker because of the classics he gave us

Andre The Giant
the man was a traveling attraction throughout the 70's and early 80's and went to all the different territories such as AWA, Crockett, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling From Florida, WWC Puerto Rico,Pacific Northwest Wrestling, Japan, Mexico and many other places
when Andre came to town the whole building was packed just to get a glimpse of the giant
He may not have been the best in ring technician but he was great for a guy his size

DLVH84 was clearly referring to Andre Nagasaki, who is much more popular than Undertakersan in Japan.

Andre The Giant .Like others have said , he was an attraction in n out of the ring ,wrestled everywhere, not just one place and for those who remember the old days was undeafeted for most of his career, which started in the mid to late 60's .I'm not knocking 'taker he is a legend as well and people will know him but people ,fan n nonfan alike will remember Andre.

Nobody said "Greatest Draw" I said attraction. Hogan isn't a legend he's a fucking Hero and ground breaker twice over. Anyone who knows wrestling terms knows what I am talking about. Andre and The Undertaker are the definition of wrestling legends in our great sports history, other would be Bruiser Brody, Abby The Butcher, Roddy Piper, Yokozuna etc... Guys who's draw was their body or character. Hogan had more than that. Were talking about fucking intention.
Andre and Taker, I gotta say in the long run, Taker. I don't think his streak will be broken and if it does it will be the biggest mark out moment of my career.
