Triple H came out and set up Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title, Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan, and Great Khali vs. Randy Orton. Christian came out to speak to Hunter.

Christian threatened that Hunter needed to change his SummerSlam match against Randy Orton or he would sue. Hunter told him he has no respect as the World Hvt. Champion, so the match is still on.

Sheamus beat Christian by countout. Christian wanted no part of Sheamus, so he got himself intentionally counted out while standing on the top of the entrance ramp.

Beth Phoenix and Natalya defeated Kaitlyn and A.J. Beth Phoenix pinned A.J. to get the win for her team.

There was a backstage segment with Teddy Long, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and Aksana.

There was also a segment with Mark Henry and Johnny Curtis backstage. They will meet later in the show.

Sin Cara defeated Tyson Kidd. Mike said it didn't seem like anyone knew the difference between this Sin Cara and the real Sin Cara, assuming they used someone else under the mask because the real Sin Cara is suspended.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Daniel Bryan, Bryan missed a top rope move. Del Rio got the win via submission.

Cody Rhodes defeated Ezekiel Jackson to win the Intercontinental Title. It appeared Dylan Drake of AllProWrestling.com was passing out the paper bags at ringside. Cody got the win with CrossRhodes to become the new champion. I smell a rematch at SummerSlam.

Backstage, Randy Orton said he will unleash his anger at SummerSlam. He then discussed his match against Great Khali.

Mark Henry beat Johnny Curtis. Sheamus came out to stop "Shamu" and wanted him to take on the great white tonight instead of at SummerSlam.

Randy Orton beat The Great Khali. Orton hit the RKO on Khali for the pin. Christian came out afterward and said he's the best thing going.

The big debut of Johnny Curtis and he loses...huh.

And again, more matches WWE could have saved for Summerslam which still has only 4 matches and air them on free TV...

From the front page also:

* Triple H opens the show and announces Randy Orton vs. The Great Khali, Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio and Cody Rhodes vs. Ezekiel Jackson with the Intercontinental Title on the line for tonight. World Heavyweight Champion Christian comes out and wants to talk to the WWE COO. Christian threatens to sue Triple H if he doesn’t change the SummerSlam match against Randy Orton. Triple H says Christian has no respect and will still face Orton on Sunday and be in action tonight.

* Sheamus beat Christian by count out. Christian walked off and stood at the ramp as the referee counted him out.

* Natalya and Beth Phoenix beat AJ Lee and Kaitlyn. Face pop for Beth and Natalya here. Beth pinned AJ while Natalya put Kaitlyn in the Sharpshooter.

* Backstage segment with Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes arguing with Teddy Long. Zack Ryder and Aksana are there.

* Backstage segment with Mark Henry and Johnny Curtis.

* Sin Cara beat Tyson Kidd in a decent match. Hard to tell if Cara is someone else under the mask. Cara came out to a huge reaction.

* Alberto Del Rio beat Daniel Bryan by submission in a great match. Cheers for Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez before the match. Wade Barrett came out and attacked Bryan after the match.

* Cody Rhodes beat Ezekiel Jackson to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion after hitting Cross Rhodes.

* Backstage segment with Randy Orton talking about SummerSlam and tonight’s match.

* Mark Henry beat Johnny Curtis. Sheamus came out after the match and confronted Henry.

* Randy Orton beat The Great Khali after an RKO. Christian came out and taunted Orton after the match, saying he’s the best thing going.

Hmm, interesting that no more matches were announced for Summerslam. I can see the show having a small 6-match card, with 90 minutes worth of time given to the main events, which could work out really well. I'd rather RAW combine their 3 TV feuds and put them into a hot opener for the show, and I don't really wanna see Barrett/Bryan or Cody/Zeke, but Cody/Zeke seems necessary now that the title changed hands.

Rey/Kofi/Morrison vs. Miz/Del Rio/Truth
Beth/Kelly
Cody/Zeke
Sheamus/Henry
Orton/Christian
Punk/Cena

I like that six man tag addition. I would have thought Ziggler vs. Riley would have been added Monday. I would put that match as well, but six matches seems good. I am hoping Beth wins the divas title, but I can see them having Kelly retain here and Beth getting the belt at NOC. I really hope she just wins at Summerslam. That divas tag match sounds great on Smackdown. Personally, besides Beth and Natalya, AJ Lee would be the my next favorite diva after them. She's actually really talented and I think she is the wrong person to be targeted in terms of being a mockery of the divas division. However, it does get her on tv so I can't complain in that regard.

I actually thought that they might do the Six-Man Tag idea, but nothing was confirmed on RAW. Del Rio could walk off leaving the heels to be beaten by the faces, teasing a cash-in for later in the night.

In addition to what you have there, I would add Dolph Ziggler vs. Alex Riley for the US Title and Daniel Bryan vs. Wade Barrett. Beth vs. Kelly really doesn't need that much time, nor does Sheamus vs. Henry or even Rhodes vs. Jackson.

I bet more matches will be added on SmackDown!. The WWE often just shows a graphic of the new matches when they put the show through editing.

Disco Apocalypse

Are they leaving some time open for a legit briefcase cash-in that will last longer than a couple of finishing moves?

What about a surprise Rock appearance that takes up a fair whack of the show?

Or are they simply giving more time to the main events, both of which (espicially Smackdown) have proved that they can put on a good wrestling match?

Whatever happens, another :y: to WWE for adding some unpredictability. Brilliant move to have some quality product coming at the same time that HHH is the storyline COO.

Also, HHH should add an N to his title and become a super-hero...

So where's our crack team of TPWW Investigators? Did they sneak Sin Cara back in early? Or they take a page out of the TNA playbook and slot someone in his place ala Suicide?

I forget his name, but it's someone who had played Mistico in Mexico at one point. It's not the real Mistico/Sin Cara.

 pretty bad debut for Curtis after all those videos.

Does he still have the tag team title shot he earned from winning NXT or that got forgotten like a lot of stuff in the WWE?

Although I could see why it would get dropped considering R-Truth turned heel.

If they do plan on Mistico coming back and feuding with Hunico I hope it starts out like this: "Sin Cara" comes out and puts on a match with ____ and the music hits. A minute later another Sin Cara appears at the top of the ramp and everyone is confused. Then the real Sin Cara runs down to attack Hunico. Sin Cara gets the upper hand and takes the fake Sin Cara's mask off revealing a different mask. The story behind it is Hunico attacked Sin Cara and has been taking his place but now that Sin Cara is "well" again he's come to take out the impostor.

Spontaneous Combustion.

I think they should start an angle where they act like it is a different dude under the mask every month. Because bad things keep happening to Sin Caras.

Until finally, one "breaks the curse" and "gets over".

If Cee Lo performs in the middle of the show, he'll serve as my piss break. I'd rather sit through a divas match then have to see that douche perform. To the concession stands I go!

Just watched the show. Seemes pretty obvious it was someone else as Sin Cara, the guy was more solid. Also the commentary at the end was great as they tried to make excuses for his different look and move set and explain why his mask didn't fit properly. Another over-all good show though.

Wow you can definitely tell it wasn't the real Sin Cara if you've watched some of his matches before. Different mannerisms, different body, and different move set as well. The dude seems a little bit bigger and taller than Mistico and not as graceful as him. He seemed a little awkward though plus he was trying to get a reaction from the crowd with his body language and it worked but it seemed forced like when Christian does the clapping thing. Mistico's reactions come naturally from the moves he does.

During the Undertaker vs Undertaker feud, people knew the Undertaker Ted Dibiase managed wasn't the real one.

That's vaguely relevant I guess.

Wade Barrett desperately needs a new finish. Post match Wasteland to Bryan got absolutely no reaction at all on a show that edits in crowd reactions.

Hunico obviously works WWE style better than Mistico since he's been at FCW for a while and he isn't as much of a Spotty McOverflip. I'm interested to see where they go with this once the suspension is up, the pressure is really on Mistico if Hunico does a better Sin Cara.

Mr. Nerfect
08-12-2011, 07:30 PM
At the very least, I think Hunico should be called up to NXT next season as "the first masked rookie in NXT history." But if they replace Mistico with, well, uh...Mystico, then they might as well just give that spot to Epico.

– Following Friday night’s WWE SmackDown!, it looks as if they will do a Sin Cara (Mistico) vs. Sin Cara (Hunico) feud. WWE development talent Hunico played Sin Cara at the latest tapings and the announcers were really hyping it up that it was someone else playing role on Friday night.
