<font color=goldenrod>Awesome ending, really excited to see where this leads to on Raw.

I do hope Nash is more than just Del Rio's bodyguard. Way more entertaining things he can be doing in this story.</font>

The extra elements make this more intriguing in my opinion. There was only so much of the HHH/Cena/Punk worked shoot stuff that they could do before that got old. Now you throw Del Rio and an amazing talker like Kevin Nash in the mix and it's fresh again because everyone is curious about how he factors into it and if it's a conspiracy.

if Nash turns out to just be doing Triple H's dirty work I will be much more accepting of Del Rio being champion

I hope that it turns out Trips is backing Del Rio, since Cena and Punk didn't want to "play ball".

Strange ending, I used up all my mark-outs over Orton killing off Christian, so I found Cena/Punk a little less dramatic than it should have been. I can already feel the CM Punk return heat cooling off very quickly. It was still enjoyable though.

I'm glad they finally pulled the trigger on Del Rio being Champ, but more matches against Rey is going to be really dull to watch. I think the best thing they can do is keep the title off of Cena and Punk for the remainder of the year and shift focus to other guys.

Hopefully Christian fucks off to the midcard where he belongs, and we get something new such as Barrett vs. Orton.

I feel quite the opposite. This might sound a bit like rambling, but allow me to lay this out:

Two people with very close real life ties to Triple H (Kevin Nash and Stephanie McMahon) came back last night. So you have the potential for McMahon-Helmsley 2.0 which obviously has both CM Punk and John Cena to feud with them because both have varying pasts with TripleH/StephanieMcMahon plus, what happened at SummerSlam. Triple H & Steph could come out tonight and reveal that they created a plan that lead to last night's events. They could point out that they tricked CM Punk into coming back so that he would defend his WWE title. Then he could say he put Del Rio in contact with Nash to ensure that they cost Punk the title and now he will never get another shot and that they are going to make his life hell, etc. Maybe point out that Punk said at Axxess this weekend that he does not care if he gets fired. Could lead to Punk being the underdog trying to get a title shot again the hard way. Maybe wins the Royal Rumble and wins the WWE title at Wrestlemania.

Cena will maybe get a match against Del Rio at perhaps Night of Champs. Tease tension between Cena & Triple H/Steph. Then have The Rock show up and cost Cena the title. Maybe Triple H comes out after NOC and says he had The Rock come cost Cena the title. The war of words continues on the build up to the Cena vs Dwayne match at Mania. Maybe The Rock helps Cena win the title at Elimination Chamber and tells Cena he did it not to help Cena but to make sure he could beat Cena for the title.

To sum it up, I think things are just starting to get good. For the first time in a while, I am really interested to see what goes on tonight on RAW.
(Oh, and spare me the posts about "too long to read/can someone translate").

Honestly love how they left the ending and can't wait for Raw tonight. I'm with the group that hope Nash isn't with Del Rio. There's so many ways they can go with this storyline still.

There's still all the options available of starting up a corporation style stable, although I don't think that's what will happen. Nash could come in and just say he wanted to help Hunter make sure he does a good job with it and that Punk as champ isn't going to benefit the company, Hunter responds saying he doesn't need help etc etc.

Cena/Punk already feels old, but I can see both being added to a multi-talent WWE Title match at NOC, just to put the feud to bed.

Glad they did what they did. Punk vs. Cena needs to be done for now. I don't think they can replicate MITB so early. They also need to book Cena a bit better otherwise they're going to kill off their own babyface, since they're so adamant about keeping him as one. Kevin Nash was a random surprise.

ADR winning the title didn't feel like anything. MITB is neat and all, but damn. It's pretty cheap. Starting to get old.

Solid PPV.

I think SummerSlam was a good PPV.

The Six-Man Tag Match was a good match the open the show.

I haven't really seen SmackDown in about two months, so I haven't really seen much of Sheamus and Mark Henry, but from what I saw last night, I think it's going to be a good feud. I'm not going to lie, I like Mark Henry and I really like what they've got going for him at the moment with him being this unstoppable force who just goes around and fucks shit up.

The ending of the match was great. I didn't expect both guys to demolish the barricade and having the match end on a count out leaves the fued wide open for more. Though was it just me or did anyone else think the guys around the barricade were "plants"?

They just seemed far far too enthusiastic to me to be normal people. Especially the guy to the right of Sheamus in the grey shirt.

But anyway, moving on to Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix, I actually liked that match and I love the team of Beth and Natalya, not too keen on the apparent name though. "Divas of Doom"? Sounds a bit corny to me, but we'll all accept it sometime down the line. It always happens. Personally, I would have named them "Divas of Destruction" if they wanted to go down the "Divas of *Word that begins with "D"* route, but I guess that's too close to Undertaker & Kane.

It was a good match but at the time, I didn't get why Kelly won. It didn't really make much sense, Beth becomes this major threat to Kelly and basically all the "bimbo Divas" and has Natalya on her side and was pretty much in control for the majority of the match last night and then she loses to Kelly Kelly via roll-up. :-\

But it does leave it open for more which is a good thing. I want to see more of Beth & Natalya and Kelly isn't THAT bad, and Eve is alright. Though Kelly needs to stop screaming. The WWE got rid of one screaming bitch, we really don't need another one.

Barrett/Bryan is hard for me to talk about because I never really got to see it as my stream kept freezing and jumping forward every five seconds so I never really got to enjoy it. But from what I saw, it was great match and Barrett winning will most likely mean more of Barrett/Bryan and maybe a match at Night of Champions.

The Christian/Orton match is another one that's hard for me to talk about due to my stream. I searched other streams but they all did the same, so I just had to sit through the freezing and the jumping, but seeing Edge was great. He's looking well and his promo was great. The match itself though was great too, the weapons were used well and the ending was pretty amazing.

Now, the Main Event, was great. It was actually 50/50 between Punk and Cena and like some people have said, it was great but not quite there with their match at Money in the Bank, but a great match nonetheless. Triple H was actually fair, though it seemed like everyone apart from me and about three others thought he was going to take a side during the match and the ending was a bit sudden, but good. I also liked the Macho Man taunt and elbow drop and the "Randy Savage" chants that followed.

I thought that maybe it was going to be restarted but it didn't. The words exchanged between Cena and Triple H leaves me thinking that if Triple H is having a retirement match or whatever, then it's looking like it'll be against Cena. As Punk was celebrating, I did see some big guy walking towards the barricade and on first look, before the camera angle suddenly changed to Punk, I thought it was Jackson Andrews. :|

My stream was so bad that I couldn't recognise Kevin Nash. But when the camera cut to Nash, I immediately thought "Holy shit! Nash!". It was a great powerbomb by Nash and Del Rio cashing in surprised me, especially when he won.

It got me thinking though. Crazy theories coming up by the way.

The storyline will probably be something like Triple H was planning to be fair all along during the match and not seeing Cena's foot on the rope was a legitimate mistake. Cena's pissed and starts something with Triple H. Sometime down the line, maybe even tonight, it all comes to light that Triple H had Nash as a backup of sorts, to attack Punk, just incase Punk won as Triple H doesn't think Punk should be champion anyway as he walked out on the company and he just generally hasn't gotten along with Punk at all.

But Triple H informed Del Rio of this plan so Del Rio could be ready for when Nash hits the ring. So Punk wins, Nash hits the rings, powerbombs the hell out of Punk, Del Rio cashes in, becomes the new WWE Champion and Triple H is happy as Punk is no longer champion and MAYBE this is the start of possibly Triple H getting some boos when it all comes to light and slowly becoming like Vince. It's hard to describe what I'm talking about but what I'm talking about is the whole "Being this person will fuck you up" thing you see in the movies.

I'll attempt to describe it. Vince started off as this happy and fair man in charge, then slowly he became a dick who only did what was good for business and didn't really care what the fans thought. Triple H becomes in charge, says that won't happen to him, and he's this happy and fair man in charge but slowly he becomes a dick who only does what's good for business and doesn’t really care what the fans think.

Anyway, crazy theories over, I think SummerSlam was great and I look forward to Raw tonight. I'm also looking forward to see what matches we'll see at Night of Champions.

I have no problems at all with how things went down tbh. I really liked the surprise of Nash returning. You have Cena and Punk with legitimate gripes about how the match ended. This could set up an awesome triple threat or fatal 4 way at Night of Champions. Either Cena vs Punk vs Del Rio or a fatal 4 way with Mysterio in the mix would be awesome.

I just think it's way too early for people to be shitting all over this and I can't wait for Raw tonight.

From a storyline perspective, this is great.

It's probably Stephanie like someone else said. Triple H wanting to do things legit, and her bringing out Kevin Nash. Like she'll try to get her way with him by trying to reunite him with "The Kliq"

I only skimmed through the last few pages, but I didn't see this mentioned: about a week or two ago, around the time Punk started getting hot, Nash posted on his Twitter account that he would love to return to be Punk's personal bodyguard, and then Punk responded that he appreciates it, but he'd rather go it alone.

Maybe this is Nash's way of not appreciating Punk's response.

I hope there is even more shit at work here.

I was trying to think of a way that Vince could be pullign strings with Nash to get himself back in power, but not sure I want that.

I would much prefer Nash working with HHH than Steph, I want to see a Heel Hunter and Nash against a Face Punk and even Cena.

The title Schmozzle is out of control. Its like Game of Thrones, everyone has a claim to the title.

Raw Promos were showing Rey Rey as being the number 1 contender as he never got his rematch so he was facing Punk/Cena tonight. So Rey vs Alberto tonight?

I will be watching for sure.

God, this is ridiculous. I get that they can't please everyone, but seriously the entire product has been very very good lately.

Exactly. Summerslam was very good as far as furthering/ending the biggest stories of the summer. My only complaints are that the six-man tag didn't really serve a purpose and I think Miz's story would have been better served without a match. Kelly winning bothered me too, but not as muh as I'd have thought a couple weeks ago.

But Barrett winning sets him up as a clear #1 contender for the World Title. Bryan looked good in defeat.

Mark Henry still looks like a dominant monster, but Sheamus looks like he won't give up, no matter how badly he's beat up. Classic babyface build there.

Orton/Xian put on a very entertaining "garbage" match that gets the belt back on Orton and starts a new redemption story for Christian.

And, God, there are like 15 different ways the WWE Title situation could play out, and almost all of them are fantastic.

This is the first time I've made sure not to miss a show in years, not to mention the first time in a decade I've ordered back-to-back PPVs. WWE is doing a lot of things very well right now.

This is true. And honestly, if they'd used Ziggler instead of Miz, I could have seen it as just that. It just seemed counter-productive for Miz to talk about not being booked, attack someone to get noticed, and then - without even a segment explaining that the match is happening - there he is. That story would have been better served by him not being booked OR having a segment where H begrudgingly makes the match in light of his recent actions.

But I definitely see where you're coming from.

This show was AWESOME. Very enjoyable and had a great time watching it.

6-man tag was an ideal opener. Consisted of 6 guys that all have history and they got this crowd going.

Sheamus/Henry was a really good big man match. They had to be careful how they booked this one, and it was perfect. The crowd loves Sheamus, and I think they would have went insane if he made it back in the ring and hit the Brogue Kick. Great way to put Henry over without making Sheamus look bad.

Kelly/Beth had a really solid divas' match. Best one in a looooong time. I'm sure Kelly has definitely improved, but Beth is just great. It's obvious that a NOC rematch is in the works, and that's good news.

Bryan/Barrett was great, and I was glad they gave it time. I previously stated that I didn't wanna see Bryan/Barrett on the card, but I'll eat those words now. Great job by both guys. This was the first time in a long time that Bryan was able to open up the moveset, especially against a bigger opponent. I loved the Wasteland/Guillotine/LeBelle Lock exchange towards the end. The flipping lariat was sick too. :y:

Orton/Christian. Wow. Fucking great match here. They built up to the big spots in this match perfectly. Each weapon usage made sense and just kept getting more vicious as the match was going on. Orton/Christian have wrestled one-on-one at 4 straight PPVs, and they managed to keep each one of their matches fresh, exciting, and create a new story each month.

I loved how the story telling came full circle from their first Smackdown match in May when both were babyfaces. Orton hit Christian with the RKO as he was countering Christian's sunset flip attempt in a standard one on one match. Now 4 months later, after Christian has turned into a total asshole and pushed Orton, their feud ends with the same exact counter but on steel steps to put an exclamation point on it. Really awesome :y:

Cena/Punk was another homerun. A perfect "part 2" to their MITB match. This is what a main event should be. Insane crowds, great build up. It was just perfect. This match reminded me of the big main event feel that Undertaker/Austin had 13 years ago in MSG.

The "foot on the rope" thing seems very tired to me, and I did feel that this match should have been given a proper finish, but it wasn't given a proper finish for a reason. They are setting up for more, and I'm all for it. I think it'll be revealed that Triple H saw the foot on the rope and just ignored it anyway because he wanted Nash to be the one to screw Punk out of the Championship because of what he's said/done over the past month.

Lots of questions to be answered after some awesome wrestling. :y: One of the best Summerslams ever IMO

I wanted to do a long review to but this sums it up pretty well. :y:

It looks like Nash is trying to do that stupid "horsemanning" thing..you cant see his head. If only Punks head were in a different position...

I think he was just trying his damndest not to tear his quad again.

The match of the night for me was Cena and Punk. The atmosphere was ridiculous and I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire match. There wasn't one person who wasn't invested in it.

Yeah I'm wondering how it was "one of the worst of all time," a big name returned, there's actual plot going on?

I didn't jump out of my chair like some people might have but this really was a very good show. I think their moves make sense, I don't think Cena and Punk can keep having matches either without having some of the meaning taken out of things. This is big for both guys. Although I really think Cena is drowning as far as the crowd goes.

Dah, I dunno. Last night just seemed to have such finality to it, but I would not be opposed to seeing more awesome matches. Perhaps a Fatal Four Way at NOC, and then their last encounter in HIAC? Hmm..

Christian obviously gets a rematch but I really doubt they could go another PPV match after this. Maybe have him get his rematch on SD! with the stip that if he loses, he can't get another shot as long as Orton is champ. He loses straight up or via some Mark Henry interference. Maybe Sheamus runs in too leading to a fatal fourway.

If they go one on one on PPV again, I feel like something like HIAC wouldn't make too much sense. Christian can't beat Orton. They're really stressing that. And in a brawl setting like last night, Orton was somewhat dominant. If they wanna make it seem like Christian has a chance, it would need to be a TLC match. Roll with the "it's my specialty" thing. Even then, I think they should put it on SD though.

Gold on the mic, makes people hate him, great in-ring work.. What's not to like

Not a fan of his in-ring work. It's decent, certainly nothing exceptional. And how do you get "Gold on the mic" from him? He's about as entertaining as a paper bag.
