View Full Version : Why should I give a fuck about Crimson in TNA?

Why should anybody? Why the fuck is he getting pushed as such?

SOMEBODY EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!!!!!!!

I don't even know who that is.

Captain of Lucky. He's been undefeated for 8 months or so. I'm currently watching the most recent Impact, so maybe it ends here, but there's nothing to cheer for here at all.

Nope, still undefeated. Gross.

I stopped watching when Immortal formed. Made no sense to me. A lot of what TNA does, makes no sense to me.

People flipping back between face and heel every month with no explanation. People allying with one another for no apparent reason.

Instead of Impact Wrestling, they should change their name to Attention Deficit Disorder Wrestling.

Doesn't really roll off the tongue though, I guess.

Yeah, I don't get this either. Eric Young has more charisma and is more deserving of some kind of push. Yeah, he's their 'Global Champion'...But, what the fuck is that? Look at Jarrett, right? He's the Champion of Mexico, or some shit.

Fuckin pisses me off.

Eric Young has been pretty awesome, even though he hasn't even been in the arena in months. Crimson SORTA has the look, I guess, but I'm hoping they don't think they've got another Goldberg on their hands. I could see him winning the BFG series and winning the title, but that would really suck.

Speaking of the BFG series, why is Devon doing so well?

Innovator

Because the nwo reunion failed, so it's time for a Goldberg streak.

what the fuck is a BFG Series. If it is anything like the AWA Team Series, I am IN!

The Bound For Glory Series is a point-based competition between 12 or so TNA wrestlers in which the winner will receive a shot at the World title at the Bound For Glory pay per view. A pinfall victory is worth 7 points and a submission victory is worth 10 points. 10 points are deducted for a loss via disqualification. In tag matches, the person who gets the decision gets the points, but not his partner(s).

It's not really a terrible idea, but it leads to a bunch of matches that don't really have anything behind them besides the series.

Both him and Gunner have grown on me and I don't think their horrible (but nowhere near amazing) There both big, young guys, I dont think either is ready for main event status, but it would be refreshing to have a world champ who isn't pushing 50

Ah so it's like the G-1 Climax in New Japan. It's a pretty huge event over there, but New Japan is booked more like an actual sport, so it works out pretty well. I always wondered how it would fair in a sports entertainment climate. Apparently not very well according to thrilla.

Anybody Thrilla
08-17-2011, 03:40 PM
No, the series in and of itself is a fine idea. The people that they have leading it is what's confusing to me. Crimson is in first place, followed by like Robert Roode and Devon. None of those guys seem like they should be top tier champions.

Samoa Joe has negative ten points, but I think he's going to make a big run sooner or later.

Riker
08-17-2011, 03:50 PM
Welcome to TNA, where the Points are made up and dont matter anyway,

Seems like there should be 2 top guys battling back and forth, and maybe like you said Joe should be pushing at the end.

Why does Devon even have a job? Same with BULLY RAY?

And thrilla, I disagree on Jake Crimson. I think Crimson kind of sucks, but I hate Jakes , Jacks, Johnnys, Jimmys, Joeys and whatever with a fake last name.

Johnny Nitro

Jack Swagger

Why not a Frank? Or Vincent? Or Gus?

Anybody Thrilla

Jake Crimson actually sounds like a vampire gimmick.

But yeah, he can be Waldo Crimson for all I care. As long as it's more than just Crimson. Gunner could use a name, too. They sound like henchmen at best, not people who should be winning the BFG series.

Riker
08-17-2011, 03:58 PM
At least Gunnar is a real name. So its like he is Christian, just using a single name. I am not sure what he could add and have sound right.

Crimson is just shit. Wasnt he originally paired with Red?

Anybody Thrilla
08-17-2011, 04:02 PM
I always thought Christian was a silly name too, but I'm used to it by now. Christian Cage sounds way better.

Not sure about this Red character. I've only gotten back into TNA over the last two months or so after a two year hiatus or so.

Emperor Smeat
08-17-2011, 04:06 PM
Was he the guy TNA hyped up coming from the military or was that another guy unrelated to Crimson?

I'd assume TNA is grooming him to be their next "AJ Styles" in a sense of having a young guy in the main event instead of just "WWE rejects" or older wrestlers all the time. Probably would end up doing the same as they did to AJ Styles at first and forget about him after the initial push.

Wishbone
08-17-2011, 04:58 PM
The guy from the military was Jesse Neal who is currently no where to be found (mabe injured I don't know). As for Crimson I honestly don't have a problem with them pushing a new young talent and the guy's not completely horrible. I do think they're over doing his push a bit though.

They paired him with Amazing Red initially. Claimed they were brothers I think.

Are you guys being serious?

Like he's really the Champion of Mexico? Seriously?

He really did win the AAA title down in Mexico.

Theres a plate over the belt for some reason and they blurred the AAA belt out when they showed footage of him winning it, so I really dont get it.

But tune in this thursday when:

Jarrett takes control of the Tag Team Mexican America after they beat Beer Money for the Tag Titles

As for Crimson, I do not like him and the push he's being given seems to be to early. I am willing to bet that he wins the BFGS matches next month though and Angle will probably be the one to give him the first loss in the Title Match he gets at BFG.

Judging from the spoilers, his big run might be towards going out the door and leaving for WWE.

Theres still about 4 weeks left in the BFGS..I really think that they originally intended for it to come down to Matt Morgan, Crimson, Gunner and Bully Ray but Morgan got hurt and is out so that shook things up a bit. Right now the top four is Crimson, Bully Ray and Beer Money..

Anybody Thrilla
08-17-2011, 08:10 PM
Droford's scenario is a very believable one, but what a waste of time it would be if the winner of that long, drawn out series doesn't even win the belt.

Droford
08-17-2011, 08:16 PM
Its TNA..its amazing that they follow through with the stipulation. Hell, they already changed it from being a 4 Way at No Surrender to 2 matches (Im assuming 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, but who knows) and the person with the most points at the end of the night wins. If #1 wins their match then 2 vs 3 is pretty much irrelevant. I guess they do 2 vs 3 first to "put pressure on" #1 to win making #4 a spoiler of sorts..

Anybody Thrilla

While we're here, I'm also going to need someone to explain to me the decision to put Mr. Anderson in Immortal for like three weeks before kicking him out.

Droford
08-17-2011, 08:48 PM
Well, Hogan told him he could either join immortal and have them help him keep his title vs Sting or else he'd be left to his own, but Sting still won the belt..thus taking away his only incentive to want to be in Immortal..

of course this is TNA..who knows really..

Anybody Thrilla
08-17-2011, 08:52 PM
It seems as if he would have stayed if Bully Ray wasn't such a...*cough* Bully towards him.

Emperor Smeat
08-17-2011, 08:57 PM
Mr. Anderson in Immortal made as much sense as having the TNA champion twice in a row be defeated on their first title defense.

I believe originally Mr Anderson was being built up as someone who didn't like Sting but he also didn't like Immortal being involved which could have cost him the chance at the title.

Bully Ray hating him from the start made no sense considering he helped to get Mr Anderson in the group.

Well usually these series are used in part to get an up and comer over, by doing well and getting big wins over vets, but having all those guys you named in the lead is ridiculous. The top should be mostly main eventers and one or two upper midcarders. Midcarders and lower card guys shouldn't even be close to the top.

Also, are they TRYING to get Joe to sign with WWE? Because -10 sounds awful.

kareru
08-18-2011, 03:34 PM
he's not a bad worker
he's got 'the look'

but i fear they may be trying to 'goldberg' him, and i don't think that's a good idea

or maybe they are trying to set up a big push for joe by losing lots of matches then going to his 'nation of violence' place then storming through the roster and beating the undefeated crimson

Crimson is just shit. Wasnt he originally paired with Red?

When Crimson was brought in, he was originally billed as Amazing Red's younger brother. This is why he has the red fauxhawk, the name, and even the stupid looking ring attire that has patterns similar to Red's. You may have missed it, because it was during one of those "THEY" sprees TNA did for awhile- you know, "they" are coming, you'll know "them" when "they" get here- they had like 4 consecutive "they" angles, and all of the payoffs sucked. Then, Red mysteriously dropped off of television for months, and released and they started this undefeated push for Crimson. The gimmick is kind of stupid, because not only is the comparison (Red) gone, but they completely swept that "brother" thing under the rug a couple of weeks after his debut.

They push Crimson because he's got the look but he's green.

:y: Bingo! Not nearly as over, but hey; it's TNA. Since when do they actually give a shit who is over with the crowd?
