Best: chest protector D-Lo. He's one of the guys who "owned" that belt as opposed to it just being some random hardware.
Worst: Saturn. I seriously didn't recall Saturn ever winning this.

Dunno. Was he recognised as a Euro Champ as his win meant that the title was scrapped?

Dunno. Was he recognised as a Euro Champ as his win meant that the title was scrapped?
Well he's credited as being the last European Champion in the WWE Encyclopedia when he unified it with the Intercontinental Championship and he was credited in his profile as being the last European Champion, when it was up on WWE.com.
He did the same when he unified the Hardcore and Intercontinental Championships and he's credited as being the last Hardcore Champion because of it.
So I don't see why the European Championship would be any different. :-\

Worst - Shane McMahon

08-19-2011, 10:26 AM
Best - Eddie Guerrero
Winning the European title was the start of Latino Heat and the program he had running with Chyna which was great. Plus Eddie had some great matches along the way
Worst - Spike Dudley
I have no recollection of him ever being a champion, I assume he must have beaten DDP? Had it not been for Bradshaw becoming JBL then I would have picked him instead because his reign was pointless and lost it in his first title defence.

You can't judge his reign if the title was scrapped at the exact moment he won it.
It was wise to leave him out, for the purposes of this game.

Spike actually defeated William Regal for the belt, I beleive Spike only won it in 1-2-3 Fashion against Regal, only to be fully destroyed in a return bout.

Spike won the European Championship from Regal on an episode of Raw.
I remember it, before the match, Spike stole Regal's brass knucks that Regal hid in one of the turnbuckle pads when the referee wasn't looking, and just before the bell rang, he hit Regal with the knucks and pinned him for a 3-count.
The match was only about 3 or 4 seconds long.
You might be thinking of Crash Holly though, who won the European Championship from Regal at Rebellion in 2000.

(To me)
The IC Champ is the North American, South American and European titles all merged together...The United states title was merged into it but a new
one was created for smackdown.
Best:bulldog Davey-Boy Smith (Owen never did get it did he? it went to shawn michales to trips threw a finger poke of doom...the title seemed like it was going to have some credibility up till that point)
Worst: Denis Knight
They should have an IC Champion win the All Japan or New Japan title and claim to be the real world champ as the intercontinal championship has surpassed the world(or wwe) title.

Owen did win the title in January 1998 and held it for two months.

D'Lo has to be the best just because of the whole gimmick around him.
I think the best feud over the title goes to Shane vs X-pac. 2nd best feud and match at Mania 15

Picking the best was hard. Going with D'Lo, although on a different day I could easily think Shane or X-Pac. Those three are the ones that immediately spring to mind for me when I think of the Euro title, and really seemed to make it a legit division.
Worst was Mideon. Because... c'mon. Mideon.

Thats right he fueded with triple H over it correct?I love Owen but goes to show how memorable his run was to me
was this post hart foundation?
Edit: X-pac and D'Lo get a mention for having such a great feud over it, it was defended so often it was like the TV Title, I think that feud led to the Shane/Pac Feud.
yah, like immediately after. Bret leaving/The Hart Foundation disappearing led to Owen's short program with Shawn/DX which led to his feud with Hunter.

Yeah, he only got the title because he was British. Won it on a house show, lost it on a house show and I can honestly remember nothing of his first reign or even him beating D'Lo for his 2nd.
Sad, but I can remember something about all the other champions apart from him.

Best - D'Lo Brown because he was one of the few guys that was actually elevated when winning the European title. Winning the European title didn't help too many guys get over or move up the card in its history.
Worst - Mideon because his title reign basically established the title as a lower card title (a few upper card guys won it later like Jericho, Guerrero, Angle, etc.). Mideon was way too low on the card to win this. Before his reign, the Euro title was almost on the level of the IC title.

was he only main eventing PPV's the year before and feuding with Shawn Michaels over the belt because he was British? And he won it on RAW and lost it on a UK PPV that aired in Canada and was recapped on RAW for the Americans. The tournament final alone against Owen is better than some guys reigns.

Davey Boy Smith had at least 2 great European title matches. When he won the title against Owen Hart and when he lost the title in the UK PPV main event with HBK (incredible heat). He held for about 7 months but I don't remember him defending it much in between. The only other defense I can remember is against Ken Shamrock at Summerslam 1997. But this is still enough for him to be far away from the worst European champion of all-time.
