View Full Version : Who was the best Women's Champion of all-time?

Since we're here, what do you think was the best rivalry in the Women's Division?

For me, the Austin vs. Rock of the Women's Division was always Lita vs. Trish Stratus

I wish they would call it the Women's Title again. The Diva's Title (the name) instantly lacks credibility. I wish they would treat it with more respect.

When do you think was THE HEYDAY of the Women's Division?

Too bad Kong got pregnant, I would've loved to see this division revitalized again

I know this division will never be taken seriously and will be the PISS BREAK CHAMPIONSHIP for eons to come, but WWE shouldn't shit on it either.

Instead of say letting Chyna or Kong just abandon the Women's division and trying to compete in the Men's Divisions, they should've just let (ie. Chyna) be the dominant champ and keep her in her own domain

Post ideas on how to keep interest in the "Women's Division"

I would love to see how Paul Heyman would handle being the head booker of the Women's Division :shifty:

Alundra Blayze was the last REAL women's champion WWE had.

While my personal favorite of all time is Lita, I feel the best Women's Champions were:

1. Beth Phoenix- Both five month long reigns and she helped to bring some interest to the women's division

2. Mickie James- Without a doubt, she is one of the greatest champions due to how she could connect with the crowd and not to mention was highly skilled in the ring and is still doing an incredible job in TNA. I always was into her reigns and felt she personified what a women's champion should be.

3. Molly Holly-her second reign was awesome displaying great technical skills and an awesome Molly Go Round finisher and gave some stability to the belt in the summer of 2003-the beginning of 2004. It was also nice that we got a breather from Trish title reigns at that time. I like Trish, but she was never a huge favorite of mine.

Trish Stratus.

I'd say the heyday was around 2003/2004. You had Trish, Lita, Molly Holly, Victoria, Gail kim, Jazz, and a couple of years later Mickie James too.

Mind you, A) I don't know shit about womens wrestling during Moolah's time etc, and B) I don't really give a shit about womens wrestling anyway. But Trish and co. made it tolerable back in the day.

Of all times? The Fabulous Moolah. "All times" is a broad statement.

In more recent history, Trish Stratus by miles. If Trish were around as long as Moolah, I'd have to give it to Trish, I think she's better. Just having trouble with the "all times" part.

The Fabulous Moolah without a doubt. Next I would say Lita, if you go by stats of course it's Trish, but I always thought Lita put on better matches than Trish.

They all kind of sucked.

I've never seen a Women's or Diva's champion who really entertained me. That's not to say many of them weren't awesome in the ring, but I'm talking about a real gimmick. There is no "Stone Cold" or "Hulk Hogan" of women's wrestling. The best gimmick I ever saw for a woman wrestler was probably Chyna, and after she won the Women's Title she turned into a pretty-lady with her fancy hair and make up and Playboy bullshit. When she was a killer she was far more interesting, but they took that away from her immediately.

All the other Women's champs have been the same to me. If she's a face, it's "I'm a beautiful strong woman, watch me roar, etc." If she's a heel, "I'm a completely arrogant, beautiful, strong woman, watch me keep my title by cheating." Totally uninteresting.

We need a "Stone Cold" of the women's division - someone who can talk and has charisma. Probably won't ever happen.

Mickie James could have been that person, but when she turned face they made her into a generic diva. She lost everything that made her popular in the first place. They seem to do that with every woman in the WWE though. Dunno why it's so hard for them to turn a chick face without losing her personality.

James vs Stratus was definitely the pinnacle of the women's division thus far, imo.

Thinking about this more, a woman with good comedic timing/acting ability would be amazing for the women's division in the WWE. Like someone with the sensibilities of Kristen Wiig (who I find fucking hilarious and also sexy), and can also wrestle. The problem is that the women Vince hires are either extremely beautiful or extremely good in the ring (or both in some cases), but are about as charismatic as a block of cheese.

To be fair a hot talented charismatic woman can have pretty much any job she wants and let's face it, she's probably not picking wrestling.

Maryse is the best women's wrestler of all time, let alone champion. And by best, I mean "one I'd like to have the sexual relations with the most".

Why did my brain immediately think of porn stars? And why do I now want to see Eva Angelina in the WWE?

Because she's hot, has big fake tatars, can't act very well and gives mean head. She's perfect for wrestling.

does anyone remember the jumping bomb angels? i only saw one match of theirs in a survivor series and they were impressive to me. other than that a women's match has never drawn me in at all, and like most of you say right now its just overly bad

I pretty much agree with everything in this post. I can't say there was one Diva feud that really got my interest. Trish/Mickie was interesting but that feud wouldn't entice me to spend $50 on a ppv to see it. I honestly don't think the divas matches in WWE will ever go beyond piss break/smoke break status (or a Whackfest during some of my teenage years)

What I think #1 is trying to say is, although technically true, it's not really accurate. There was a long while where there wasn't even a recognized women's champion.

It would be like saying Rhino is currently the longest reigning ECW Champion because he still has the belt and never lost.
