has the wrestling industry lied to the fans, in any way/shape/form?
I remembered the buzz about, if I remember correctly i think it was, this years wrestlemania having had the biggest crowd in the venues history, yet they later clarified that the number spanned over 2 or more days, or something like that. (please correct me on this if I'm wrong)
That got me thinking: if the E lied about that number, if only by omission, how many other times have they, along with other companies, done it?
My question mainly focuses on wrestling companies, both current and defunct, that have / had tv shows, (ie smw, wcw, ecw, tna, and so on), that openly lied on TV (IE WCW's and to an extent the E's tendency to lie about having sellout or capacity crowds when, in some cases, the camera angles during matches or interviews clearly showed empty sections of the building), but is open to other companies as well, (IE new japan, NWE, etc...)
I'm NOT counting the lying via story lines, OR the cards changing via the "card subject to change" disclaimer during wrestling ads.... if I did I'd guess there'd be several dozens of pages worth of posts about them, but feel free to post those anyway ;).
I realize that this question may not be practical, but I'm still curious.
