Guerrero, not because I hate Hulk Hogan but because I always enjoyed watching Eddie wrestle and talk than Hogan.

Hogan did more for wrestling than anybody else. Should be in the hall of fame, even if he wasn't the most technically gifted.

If Eddie wins this, y'all are nuts! It's bad enough he beat Andre but if he beats the Babe Ruth of rasslin, that's just wrong. Remember rasslin is super serious business and it's still real to me dammit!

his matches in AWA and Japan are pretty good

I think Eddie also gets votes because he is dead. Being dead means more popularity unless you discipline your family and leave the dogs by the pool. Same thing with Owen Hart, he was a good rassler but when he died he became a great rassler.

Hogan is nothing more than an invention of the wrestling industry had it not been him someone else could and would have easily filled his boots. We like to say that Cena is this but honestly he has proven himself while Hulk is almost completly a case of right place right time. 90% of Hogan's carrier has been nothing but midiocre at best if you take away the glits and the glam. Not to mention he's a total tool. Am I being bias? Probably, but Eddie gets my vote here.

Eddie was graceful enough to do what was right for the company by jobbing to Death. Hogan would never be generous enough to put Death over.

This is Hulk Hogan by some distance. I love Eddie Guerrero but outside of "bell-to-bell", Hogan is so far ahead it's ridiculous. Only on the internet could you have a pro wrestling "Hall of Fame" that doesn't include Hulk Hogan.

Emperor Smeat

Hogan.

Eddie might be better in terms of wrestling skills but Hogan could sell a match or ppv just from his promos.

Hogan basically became the definition of wrestling in the late 1980s to early 1990s and even managed to have a crowd almost riot the day he joined the nWo. He did however hog the spotlight way too long and was one of the factors in WCW's demise but he also might be the only wrestler to still have massive mainstream support that people who don't watch wrestling know who he is.

verb

1. To engage in wrestling.

So a WRESTLER is someone who engages in wrestling. And clearly Eddie Guerrero is the better of the two.

I suppose in fairness I wasn't alive/old enough to appreciate the best parts of Hulk Hogan's career.

I guess I was old enough to know Hulk Hogan in WCW. I remember be devistated as a boy when he was attacked by the "masked man" in 1994, I HATED him as Hollywood Hogan and loved him again when he went back to the yellow and red in the late 90s. Hulk Hogan could make or break a wrestling company just by his actions, Eddie could never do that even if he had a longer career.

08-26-2011, 12:59 PM
Not to be mean or inconsiderate, but the "being dead factor" is in full effect here. Hogan has had a FAR BIGGER effect on Pro Wrestling than Eddie ever did.

Even though Hogan is kind of a mess right now, and his name isn't as mythological as it once was, he's STILL the first name people think about when they here the phrase "pro wrestling".

Lock Jaw

Doesn't necessarily mean he is the most entertaining.

Define "pro wrestling".

Doesn't necessarily mean he is the most entertaining.

Define "pro wrestling".

How entertaining is Eddie right now?

It's not about 2011, is about a whole career. Hogan was never my favorite wrestler, dude can't wrestle if his life depended on it, but when you look at it objectively, it's like some people told me on the last poll...it's not about "who's the best technician", or "scientific wrestler"...it's about mic work, putting asses on the seats, selling out shows, etc.

Lock Jaw
08-26-2011, 01:45 PM
To me, it is about who provided ME with more entertainment over their careers. Screw being "objective". This is MY opinion.

Didn't really see much of Flair/Hogan.

HBK/Hogan was all HBK.

NWO Hollywood Hogan is the only thing that made me pause and consider voting for Hogan.

But overall, Eddie never stopped entertaining me. Never once did I find him dull, or want him off of my TV.

Like I said before. "Best Wrestler =

1. Wrestling Ability
2. Mic Skills
3. Drawing Power
4. Accomplishments.

Hogan destroys Eddie 3 out of the 4. This isn't a fucking workrate competition.

Eddie, hands down. He was an all-round wrestler, adapting his wrestling style against various opponents, and always had a great match.

Geez, I thought we actually had a choice as to who we could vote for. The whole 'internet' things works both way fucktards. Just because you are getting your panties all in a knot over people voting against Hogan, doesn't mean people who didn't/don't like him have to vote for him.

Move along now.

Yeah, screw all this 'Hogan did more' blah blah blah, this is about who we like more as individuals.

Did Eddie have as big an impact on pro wrestling as Hulk Hogan? Absolutely no fucking chance! But when asked in a poll titled 'better wrestler' who I like more, my answer is Eddie Guerrero.

If these polls were based purely on accomplishments, careers and contributions to pro wrestling, then how the fuck did Taz, Chris Benoit and Jake Roberts get in the BW Hall of Fame?

These polls have no criteria for voting, we choose our own.

For me in these polls, It has always been who entertained me more. Eddie was one of my favorite people to watch week in and week out. Always made me laugh and he was a likable heel which is not very common. Who comes to mind when you think of likable heels? Andre, Austin, Triple H at times.

Hogan I wanted off my screen, I grew up slightly past his prime and perhaps because of that is why I voted against him but I know when he was in the WWE, I was pretty uninterested in what he was doing.

Save WM18 and tagging with Edge.

Good fucking god. It's a discussion forum fucktard, in order to create anything approaching an interesting discussion, people tend to have to disagree about things and discuss said points. Can you imagine how much fun posting here would be if every thread consisted of an opening post and 30 "I agree" replies? How the fuck are you a moderator again?

Taz was voted in over Triple H. That kind of sums up everything when it comes to certain "arguments". And Jake and Benoit are worthy of any wrestling hall of fame.

Meh. All I'm saying is that people saying 'Hogan because he did more for the business' etc are implying that the criteria for voting should be who we think was 'greater', and not 'better'.

This is the most depressing thing ever. Hogan is pro rasslin. Without the Hulkster there woulda been none of this. Eddie Guerrero wouldn't have been a star and this message board wouldn't exist. We are all indebted to Hogan as he is not a mere mortal like Eddie. So the fact that hogan doesn't have 100% of the votes is a disgrace. Remember that rasslin is serious business and we should all get worked up about everything! Wooooo rasslin! Bushwhacker Butch was better than bofum tho

Ill state again for the record, Hogan did more for the business then most anyone. Eddie entertained me more.

However, In that sense using what they did for the business overall as voting criteria, would mean you would have to vote Vinny Mac in over The Rock if that matchup came up to keep your argument valid.

I gotta go with truthiness here and Rock over McMahon bc he has the Millions and Millions just like Hogan had the hulkamaniacs. Austin vs Hogan would be the ultimate battle not hogan vs two bit chumps like Eddie.
