From the outdoors Bash at the Beach and Nitro's with pools, to the In Your House set and stage, to the Attitude era RAW, the oval Smackdown vs fist Smackdown, all the way up to the current HD sets, etc. Over the years we've had lots of different stages, sets, venues and venue/ring setups.
I always loved the Attitude era RAW for the simplicity and feel to the stage/set. To me it always had that legit and feeling of realism that made RAW.
Another of my favorites looking back was the 2000 Royal Rumble set. It was a cool set for the Rumble at MSG and the storylines/etc going into it.
I also always loved the WCW beach and outdoor sets with pools, etc. They always had a different feel to them that looking back was pretty creative and smart.
What are some of your guys favorite sets, stages, etc? Feel free to discuss and post pics, etc.

Really can't answer this, as most sets we only see once and then it's never seen again. The last few Wrestlemania's have had fucking epic sets though.
Towards the end, Nitro had the most god awful, horrendously ugly set I've ever seen. I'm not talking about the RAW rip-off they had at the VERY end, but the one with the gigantic WCW letters that slid open. Fucking horrible.
One of my favorites is the original Smackdown set with the giant fist. I still don't get the relevance of the fist, but it's still awesome.

WCW Saturday night with the rotating ring. That was pretty neato daddy-o
Smackdown Ovaltron was badass.
Don't recall the original Smackdown set having a giant fist?

Smackdown Giant Fist and Cyber Sunday with the giant keyboard for the stage immediately come to mind.....

Always liked the idea of road wild, was cool with the bikes revving, being outside, was it at sturges? Seemed so redneck, but pro wrestling is, so it was so suitable.

Any PPV the WWE has in the MSG is awesome, especially, of course, WrestleMania...
...the New York-MSG crowd just gives the show a whole different feel, as if something big is about to happen.
Survivor Series is gonna be awesome, since The Rock is gonna be there.

Always loved the Smackdown ovaltron. Never did like the SD fist set.
It always seemed so random and like it was designed by an amateur. Like something a kid would've come up with.

Nitros at Club La Vila in Florida were pretty sweet. The ring was sitting above the pool with the one lane ramp, and someone always ended up in the drink. And Sting dropping in from the helicopter was one for the books.

Can't find a decent picture of it. I actually quite liked that set.

that Citrus Bowl stage like most WM ones was pretty long, they gotta bring back those little tiny old school rings to bring people like cali to the stage so they aren't out of breath by the time they are there. Was that mainly for Andre or somethhing?
Anybody Thrilla
09-04-2011, 12:52 PM
Yeah, the rumor I heard was that Andre couldn't really walk that far, so they had the mini-rings.

I was there! And yes, the set was amazing.

I never tire of seeing slow-motion Bischoff in this
As a big film geek, I also loved the WrestleMania 21 "marquee" stage with the match coming up on the marquee like it's a movie. Can't find a great picture, but this gives you the idea:

I personally loved the WMXX set, with the 'floor tron', and the Invasion set with separate entrances.

I really liked the outdoor WrestleMania 9 set.
I like the Invasion PPV set up where the wrestling come out from different tunnels and it makes a V shape towards the ring.
Hammerstein Ballroom of course.
