Flacco is only the 5th qb since 1970 to have 300 yards and 0 ints in a win @ Pittsburgh (list also includes Tom Brady in 2010, Gradkowski in 2009, Bulger in 2003 and Mark Rypien in 1991)
funny that other than Brady all the teams started with R (ravens, raiders, rams, redskins)

How many QBs haven't needed 300+ yards and 0 INTs to win in Pittsburgh?

Flacco led a 4th quarter drive to win the game in Pittsburgh last year:
4 plays, 40 yards in 23 seconds, Touchdown to Housh starting at :55 to go in the game.

Denver already lost to San Diego once and split with Oakland. Haven't played KC yet. Cant see them winning the division if they dont beat SD and split and at least split with KC.
That whole division could be a mess with tiebreakers if things keep on like they are.

See this is why there's an east coast bias
Droford
11-07-2011, 12:59 AM
theres an east coast bias in the NFL cause the two west divisions in the nfl blow
the 49ers for all intents and purposes have clinched a playoff spot already at 7-1. Seattle/Arizona are 2nd at 2-6.
Then you've got an AFC West with 4 teams that are all nothing more than average and the best QB in the division is having the worst year of his career. It'll be a miracle if one of them finishes better than 9-7.
Speaking of the 49ers, that 49ers/Ravens game..calling that now the NFL Game of the Year..and few will see it since its on NFL Network on Thanksgiving..pft

Looking at the remaining schedule for the AFCW, Raiders probably have the easiest left and the Chiefs the hardest. This next week will go a decent way towards seeing where the division is going with Oakland @ San Diego on Thursday and Denver @ KC on Sunday
Props to Flacco. Great game. He needs to do it more often. Obviously he has it in him,.
I wish the Colts had playmakers like Patrick Peterson. I really think Jerraud Powers is underrated and his pick six yesterday for the Colts wasn't dumb luck. He read the play beautifully. If you told me the Colts could add the Honeybadger, Burfict and maybe Reid from LSU, for Luck, id atleast think about it. Im desperate for a play making defense.
Miami is just dumb. They will regret winning. Bill Simmons has been dead on since the beginning of the season. The Colts are smart enough to tank for Luck. Im suprised no one has talked about the Colts holding a healthy, active, Addai out the last two games.
The Indystar is starting to CRUSH the Colts front office in the papers. Bob Kravitz wrote a scathing article about Chris Polian and his toxicity .
Someone is losing there job. The Colts could have gotten Daulton in the draft. They still would have been bad this year and could have picked up a great defensive play maker in this draft. Instead, they need to get Luck. I love Peyton, but 3 neck surgeries and he might not be ok? Even if he was, you can't not draft Luck. It would be like the Cavs not drafting Lebron.
It's time for a regime change and a philosophy change. You can't draft small fast players and expect to play with a lead. It's just a dumb philosophy.
Evil Vito
11-07-2011, 07:49 AM
Nothing that can really be done about it, but if Peyton actually DOES come back healthy next year - you know the NFL front office is going to be pissed off that a potential star like Luck might be riding the pine for 3 years. Unlike Rodgers who wasn't viewed as an immediate franchise changer when he got picked.

These two upcoming games against Jacksonville are really going to test the Colts' dedication to tanking the season. They're gonna get legit wrecked in every other game they have left whether they try or not, but Jacksonville could ruin it all for them.

In a way I'm surprised a team like Jacksonville or the Titans doesn't just lay down for a game or two to ensure the Colts don't get a player who could wreck their world for another decade.

We just might do that next week. Lord knows we NEED a playmaker at WR, so if the Colts beat us, we'll be one step closer.
I imagine the Jags/Colts game will be like that episode of South Park where they both want to lose, just to get out of the playoffs. Granted neither team is making the playoffs anyways.

Niners are favored by 3.5 (I think that's what Bill Simmons said) on the spreads and I'm feeling alright about it. I do feel like we'll probably be in trouble if the Giants do a pretty good job of shutting the run down. If it comes down to Eli vs Smith, I'm taking Eli every time. However; I don't see the Giants D being able to completely stop the run.
Either way, gonna be a brawl.

Patriots released Albert Hanesworth with the big problems being fatigue issues during games and disappointing stats.
Belichick is relying heavily on a rotation system to keep the defense fresh and it ended up making a lot more players compete for the spot Hanesworth was taking up during games. He ended up favoring Kyle Love over Hanesworth in terms of importance during games.

No way Ravens snag #1 seed. Especially because they've proven this season that they have Saints-like meltdowns every once in while like when playing the Jags... You can't have such a hot and cold offense if you're planning on toppling the Patriots.

I was about to say...
If a team brings their 'A' game against the Pats they are beatable. In my mind, they've lost that fear factor. The Pats have gotten by with marginal talent in the past but I think they're just not strong enough in certain areas to still be what they've been in the past.

It had the Packers going 16-0 too..that would be crazy to go 15-1 and not get a #1 seed.
I think the Ravens can get to 13 wins which is 7-1 down the stretch. 4 of those games are vs the Browns, Seahawks and Colts. The other 4 are Cincy, SF and SD, and as of now SD might not be that bad of a game even though its in SD. The SF game is probably the toughest game they have left and its in Baltimore where the Ravens play much better and SF has the short week and travel. It'll probably come down to how well Cincy plays vs the Ravens and Steelers.
and you're talking about toppling the Patriots..um..lets remember the playoffs 2 years ago..the offense was worse than it is now and the defense is better..so..and who's to say the Patriots *gasp* even make the playoffs?

I could see if Denver was worried about over-working Tebow as a QB because Carolina now has an issue of Cam showing signs of arm fatigue and sorness from throwing too much but the big difference was Cam tosses 30+ passes per game and Tebow is lucky to get half of those throws per game.

The Falcons should never have been in that fourth down situation. I don't see how the refs could have possibly figured out Cox's possession was "just shy" of the 1st down marker on that replay before he fumbled. Oh well, the Falcons played a good game, and now pretty much have to beat the Saints at the end of the season.
Going for it on 4th didn't bother me much either, it's just the play call that I didn't like.

Kickoff returning Reed gave them the ball twice at the 20 yd line. Two different returns, two turnovers. The only one he didn't turn over, he cost the Ravens 10 yds by unsportsmanlike conduct. He planted the ball on the tackler.
So he's cost them 10 yards, and 6 points simply by returning kickoffs three times.
I would be really surprised if he weren't fired or benched for the rest of the season.

Spent the whole day up in Delaware and got to watch all of the games today at once, was interesting. Didn't win on my football bet (Had the Cardinals +14.5, Texans,Cowboys and 49ers..but I also had the Bengals +3.5..ugh) I was not impressed with the Bengals play vs the Steelers, and thus even after the bad game the Ravens had vs the Seahawks I don't have much concern for the Bengals next week in Baltimore, just like they got fired up after the bad losses vs the Titans and Jaguars, I figure they will do the same next week.
I do however have less hope for the 49ers game, but I still cling to the fact that its a short week and its in Baltimore.

Terrible night but every season under Rex we get smashed by the Pats and end up further than them so we'll see. Would just love a division title, can't see the Jets reaching a Super Bowl until they do. 3 road play off games is just too tough for this team.

So far only a tabloid paper has reported Belichick told the Jets to suck his wang while neither Belichick, anyone on the Jets, nor any other place has confirmed what was said.
As the Patriots coach walked off the MetLife Stadium field, he threw his arm around his son, Stephen, and added an exclamation mark to the Patriots’ 37-16 victory over the Jets.
“Thirty-seven points on the best defense in the league, s--- my d---,” the Patriots coach said in celebration.
