My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic

I am sure if you spend any time on the internet, you've seen pictures of the ponies from this cartoon everywhere, and just shrugged it off as some stupid internet thing for idiots, as I did.

We all say our generation (for the folks from the 80s-early 90s) had the best cartoons, so we should be able to appreciate something as good as what we had.

If you're bored, and looking for something fun/happy to pass time with, this cartoon is actually pretty watchable. The ratings show that it is mostly watched by males in their 20s, even though it was intended for female children.

If you get through the first 2 episodes without thinking it's decent, or at least watchable when you're bored, I will be surprised:

I've only watched the first 4 myself, and thought they were pretty decent, if you can get past the blatantly obvious kiddy stuff.

I am unashamed to say I enjoyed the Powerpuff Girls, and apparently this is made by the same folks, so I will give it a try.

...I honestly don't get the appeal and seriously believe this to be a fad.

It has nothing to do with it being a kids show or for girls. I just don't see the positive appeal. Though I guess not everything is for everyone.

Though the MLP spam on the internet can go die in a fire.

It is about on the same level as all the old CN toons like dexter's lab, and johnny bravo.

Fun and entertaining, but nothing amazing.

I guess one thing I really like about it, is their attention to detail. The facial expressions, art, and animation are VERY well done (for a cartoon), and it sounds like the voice actors are really trying hard to make their characters come to life.

I really don't "get" how My Little Pony is all "the rage" these days, mostly on the internet.

Weird thing is, it's mostly guys that I've came across, saying I should watch it and telling me how great it is and basically just jizzing over it. :-\

I just found a VHS that belonged to my sister and on the back it had a picture of this guy I remember thinking was badass. Used to think he was the best villain ever when I was a kid.

Yea I was confused too about why an 80s cartoon was popular again before i looked into it. My sisters were huge fans of the old MLP in the 80s and we still have some of the toys somewhere in the house.

I'll be honest. I'm not saying I didn't laugh once. There were a couple of amusing points there. Nor is it the worst thing I've ever seen. I just can't see myself watching it, even out of boredom. There's too much other stuff I could be watching that's legitimately entertaining most of the time.

I liked the repeated gag of the cowgirl horse "reining in" the other ones.

This show is awesome, but then again I'm an adult who still loves to watch silly children's cartoons, so I find a lot of cartoons fun to watch, as long as they are animated and not the 3d CGI nonsense.
