Great match with a crazy clusterfuck of an ending setup. Interesting to see that now Miz and Truth are officially part of the feud now with how the ref "conspired" against them earlier tonight.

PPV was pretty good and even the normal Divas piss-break match was good.

Triple H might not like Nash anymore but at least he's still friends with sledgy.

I only caught the last match of the whole PPV, so my views aren't reflective of the whole night, but if you honestly think two ref run ins, Miz and Truth interference, Nash involvement and 'Mr Future Endeavors' getting his hands dirty wasn't messy and overbooking, then you're a fucking moron.

The only thing I didn't like about it was Truth breaking up Punks pin after he had tried to give him the win a few minutes earlier. Suppose it could be "explained" by him being dumped out the ring by Punk though and being angry about it. Dunno.

Lara Emily
09-18-2011, 11:01 PM
Ummm how about Truth pointlessly stopping Punk from winning, not 5 minutes after he had just put Punk on top of HHH to help him win. How about Punk being an after thought pretty much in his own big match, why did Miz and Truth attack Punk, yeah I get that Punk is a face and they are heels but their purpose was clearly to get rid of HHH, why did Punk stop Nash from jackknifing HHH when clearly Nash was also there to help him win.

Blakeamus
09-18-2011, 11:01 PM

It was WWE's way of saying, "We got you hooked and now you will tune in to RAW on Monday to see what happens next." I don't think it was messy. It ALL served a purpose. Miz/Truth conspiracy, Johnny Ace/Triple H Power struggle, Nash, and CM Punk...it had a great response from the crowd.

Where does Punk go from here? He has beef with Nash who won't wrestle, he lost to the guy who does and Laurentis wanted him to win. This match set up HHH vs Miz/Truth more then it did to further any storyline involving Punk. This isn't about Punk anymore, you could have replaced Punk with just about anyone and the the whole thing would have "worked" just as "well"

One thing I love about PPV threads is that the majority of the time, all the way through the thread, from the beginning of the PPV to the end, everyone posts and are all best friends with each other.

But as soon as the PPV ends, a select few become dicks and some have arguments with each other over how the PPV went. :D

The happy structure just collapses.

Why does Punk matter now? The entire clusterfuck was centered around Truth and Miz's disdain for Hunter and Nash's alliance with Laurinitis. Where does Punk fit into this, other than having lost to Hunter? Punk loses nothing and gains nothing from the match. What's the point?

All I see is Hunter and Punk teaming. Which is ridiculous.

they had a pinfall finish also. Is that like watching TNA? Because WWE rarely end PPV's with clusterfucks so pinfalls are a lot more relevant in that comparison. I could understand the moaning about it if it actually was TNA and it was the 3rd clusterfuck on the show and the 11th in the month but it's not and it "made sense", wrestling is allowed to be overbooked at times, the crowd were into it and so on. Just sounds like bitching for the sake of bitching.

That comparison is ridiculous. Del Rio and Cena have nothing to do with Punk and HHH, which definitely is NOT the case with Miz and Truth.

Miz and Truth have been taking shots at Punk and HHH for weeks, that along with the fact that it was a No DQ match makes me wonder what exactly you were expecting. Not to mention Nash and Johnny Ace, who you knew were gonna interfere regardless.

I didn't see the pay per view so I cannot comment on the quality of matches. However, I really am getting tired of seeing the WWE further destroy the credibility of the WWE belt.

So let me get this straight.

Raw:

Since April: Miz loses belt to Cena. Cena loses belt to Punk. *Punk leaves* Rey Mysterio wins Championship. Cena beats Mysterio. Cena loses to Punk. Punk loses to Del Rio. Del Rio loses to Cena. A title change every month?!

Smackdown:

I'm not as clear on this show as I don't watch it as much but near as I can tell...

Edge retires. Christian wins Championship...Loses to Orton one week later. Regains title one month later. Loses title back to Orton one month later. Orton loses to Henry one month later.

What credibility do these belts have when they're changing belts every 3-4 weeks? There's no need to put the belt on Cena right now. It's pathetic that at this rate, he'll have more championship "reigns" than Ric Flair within a year.

is it bollocks. It's pro wrestling, doing something a bit different or ignoring/changing something because it fits the story they're trying to put across has always been the way. If you don't like that and want to hold everything to the same standards as an HBO show, then you're never going to be happy with wrestling. Which now I think of it, makes a lot of sense/explains Lara Emily.

Smackdown:

I'm not as clear on this show as I don't watch it as much but near as I can tell...

Edge retires. Christian wins Championship...Loses to Orton one week later. Regains title one month later. Loses title back to Orton one month later. Orton loses to Henry one month later.

When Christian lost the belt to Randy Orton, Orton defended the title for two PPV's before getting disqualified. Then won it back and lost it to Mark Henry. So you have 3 title changes since April.

the WWE Title has had 5 title changes in the past 3 months...

I think they are doing a lot better with the WHC in this case.

Mr. Pierre
09-19-2011, 01:13 AM
Tag Titles: Ideal opener. Fast paced, cool spots, and the ending told a good story that progressed into the main event.

IC Title: Solid match, but I really don't care about Ted Dibiase. So bland. I can't deny though that they put on a good match, but Ted's lack of character helped a lot of people (including myself) not care.

US Title: Ok multi-man match that kept the Swagger/Ziggler storyline going. Nothing too special though.

WHC: I really enjoyed this one. Great match by Orton/Henry, and I'm really looking forward to the title reign. Not to discredit Henry, because I thought he was great, but Orton is really becoming WWE's workhorse that can adapt to anyone's style in the ring. I couldn't say that last year.

Divas: Better than their Summerslam match, and it helped that the crowd was really into it. I wasn't a fan of yet another 'roll up' finish though. Regardless, they are in the midst of putting together a really good series of Divas' matches.

WWE Title: Pre-match was pretty lame, but to be expected. Match was great, but not a fan of Cena winning. Ah well. If WWE's plans for HIAC and Vengeance consist of 2 more Cena/Del Rio matches, then I think they should have waited for Cena to regain, but if not, then I get it.

No DQ: Awesome brawl and a fun cluster. It felt very "Attitude Era" to me and I had fun watching it. Who gives a shit about 'overbooking' if it's done with wrestlers that are all in the same storyline? It was obviously done to plant seeds that HHH/Punk are going to have to join together to take out a bigger group. Punk kicking out of the Pedigree was awesome btw.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. Not MITB status, or even Summerslam status, but definitely a solid show :y:

Another solid PPV from WWE. Enjoyed the tag title match, and the ending sold the whole conspiracy thing well. IC title match was really good, and the US title match was fun, hopefully both title scenes' respective storylines will continue. Don't usually care for Divas matches, but the crowd being heavily behind Phoenix got me into this one. WWE title match was good, with the usual spots etc, ending was kinda disapointing though. And the World title match was actually very good. I'll give Henry his props, and I was (and still am) on of the doubters. Orton going down defiantly was great too, and certainly put Henry over huge.

I agree with Mr. Pierre about Orton, last year I kinda thought he was a bland 'different match, same routine' kinda guy, but he has really excelled this year. His feud with Christian bought a lot out of him and the guy has really stepped up in the ring. Really digging Orton right now.

The No DQ match was great. Kinda gutted the one-on-one stuff didn't last longer, and those two were really going at it. But the clusterfuck ending had me glued to my screen. The ref hitting Miz was unexpectly awesome, and overall the ending was completely unpredictable.

Overall a great show. Once again WWE has stepped up for a PPV. This is a very nice change from what we've been getting the last few years. Every PPV this year has been freaking amazing with the exception of Wrestlemania (sadly). Solid in-ring action and solid booking. :y:

Right after Nash was hit with the hammer, I was watching Cole & Lawler with my binoculars and I saw Cole write something down on a notepad and showed it to Lawler. Lawler showed to one of the ring techs who ran towards the back. After the match, Nash remained on the floor. Someone from the back came out with the ring tech and then someone did the X sign with their hands. About 4 others came out to assist Nash who was still laying down. Even Lawler came over. Nash finally sat up and was holding his head. He was wobbly when he stood up and needed assistance to get to the back.
