A part of this entrance comes from the music. It had such impact and worked so well for Punk. Now 'Cult of Personality', while it's a better song, it just doesn't have that same energy.

Any other examples of when people have changed their music for the worse or vice versa.

The only other time I can think of is when Sandman wasn't allowed to use 'Enter Sandman' in the WWE and it pretty much took away his biggest positive (which kinda says a lot about Sandman as a performer)

Im gonna have to disagree on that one. And technically he's coming out to his old music now.ROH homie. The WWE song is newer. Living colour is betta.

An example of making it worse is Daniel Bryan. The music he used when he came back at SS against Nexus on team cena was awesome, but then he got freakin flight of the bumblebee, and this new garbage. Also they tried new Booker T music in WCW and everyone hated it. Even the guy who wrote it. lol. A positive one is Motor city machine guns. They're old music was the worst music I may have ever heard in wrestling......ever.

I would rather Cult of Personality than any Killswitch Engage. When CM Punk came out to Killswitch Engage, it would make you want to skin a cat.

I kind of agree. When that opening riff started at Money in the Bank it gave me chills.

I liked Randy Ortons last theme better then his current one.

I dig his current theme.

When he made his triumphant "return" as WWE Champion "A", those first few chords just pulled everyone in. And when it lit up with his logo across the screen the fans erupted

Both songs work.

The old theme captured the emotion and energy surrounding Punk "leaving" and overcoming the odds.

I feel this new song fits his current persona perfectly though.
"I exploit you... still you love me..."

I think at this point he coulda came out to any song out there and it woulda worked. But they chose this one and it fit him just right.

Orton's new theme fits his character much better than his old music did.

Kane's music is...not that good. His original theme was best. Wasn't really happy with the Finger Eleven theme either.

I fucking hate the song Cult of Personality but it works so much better as Punk's music than his old one.

Cult of Personality fits Punk great, but I don't feel it's a good wrestling theme. I do feel that This Fire Burns is the better wrestling theme overall. But Cult of Personality works well enough, and it's the superior song.

Cult of Personality fits him perfectly though, so even though it doesn't have as much energy, it's the better choice in my opinion.

Also, wtf happened to daniel bryan's new theme? First time he used it, it was the song "freefall" by Two Steps From Hell. Which is a badass song. But now it's a really REALLY shitty ripoff.

So you mean Cult of Personality since that is his original theme.

Felt like "This Fire Burns" was pretty much immortalized at that PPV and then they immediately got rid of it. Feel like the Killswitch theme is much more intense and a better wrestling theme overall than "Cult of Personality".

Cult of Personality is okay but I preferred This Fire Burns when Orton used it if anything he should be using this one like I've said time and time again with a shortened intro WWE edit style.

So Punk used Cult before he got to the WWE? Like most fans, when the music first changed I thought it was an audio mistake

I think a lot of the time, the changing of entrance music helps to signify a new direction for a character. Randy Orton today just wouldn't work with his theme song from 2004.

I think it also just helps the wrestlers and the fans accept new directions mentally. Like... CM Punk changing his music kinda signified that CM Punk is now 'stepping up'. Killswitch Engage's song was perfect for him, but so is Living Colour's, and this change helps us and them see the 'new CM Punk'.

I hadn't seen any wrestling in almost a year when I watched this Ep of Raw.

I marked so hard. That said I was gagging for Cena to FU Rey and spit on him in a monster heel turn.

OT but there it is...

I prefer the Killswitch song, Cult of Personality does fit his character better, but I think the Killswitch theme had better energy as a wrestling theme.

Kane's current theme is total garbage, it sounds like a generic haunted house theme you would hear on Scooby Doo. He should've never changed from his first theme.

While we're on the subject I preferred Christian's old theme to his new one.

This Fire Burns fit him perfectly as the "up and comer with something to prove".

Cult fits him right now to a tee, marks the change of his character and that he made it.

I loved "This Fire Burns", but I think I love "Cult of Personality" more. I disagree that it doesn't have enough energy - both songs are equally energetic, but it's just a different kind of energy. Like Inno said, the Killswitch Engage song had more of a young, up and comer with fire in his eyes feeling to it, while "Cult of Personality" has more of a here I am, I'm the best in the world, and I've made it feeling.

I also love the static hits right before the music plays. It's one of those things like Austin's glass breaking or Rock's "If ya smell..." or even the first few seconds of Cena's music that immediately lets the fans know who's coming in a very direct way.

"This Fire Burns" works better as an entrance theme. It's fast, heavy, and well, has the "I can do anything now" effect since its really just a pump-me-up song. "Cult Of Personality" on the other hand, maybe a better song, but it's slow, and takes time to relate to (you have to listen to the lyrics to get why it fits Punk). The riff maybe easily identifiable (and one of the toughest i've ever tried to play on the guitar) and hooky, but it lacks the 'oomph - Aaaw, here comes Punk' effect that "This Fire Burns" had.

Cult of Personality is better, for all the reasons that have been said. It's slower, it's catchy.
