This needs it's own thread. Why? Fuck you, that's why.

From the makers of Super Meat Boy but turning their hand to Zelda instead now, with multiple endings and every level randomly generated giving masses of replayability.

It's kind of that mature Zelda that guy wanted, but instead of over-compensatory manly Link and swear jokes, this is mature in the sense that the character is fucked up and multi-faceted. It leans into art game territory a few times, but the gamplay itself holds up so I can let off the occasional veers into the world of pretension.
This is what Ars said about it:
While the graphics may look cute and whimsical, the dark tone of the game is disturbing. Isaac is fighting for his life after escaping his mother's attempt at religious sacrifice, and according to the game she's acting on the orders of God himself. Isaac has been systematically abused and terrorized by her in the the past. He's fighting these horrific monsters with his own tears. This isn't the proud hero of the Legend of Zelda series, this is a small child who is the victim of real horrors.http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/09/the-binding-of-isaac-takes-on-religion-in-a-randomly-generated-zelda-styled-roguelike.ars
I can not recommend this game enough, it's even priced right as it's currently £3.59/$4.50, so just get it.
