The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE is looking at hiring a screenwriter to put together "The Marine 3." The original featured John Cena in the lead role, while "The Marine 2" starred Ted DiBiase Jr., which was released in 2009 as a direct-to-DVD and Blu-ray film.

So, who should be the next Marine?

Depends

If you are using current top stars
CM Punk < would make a better villian I think, but he's a face now.
Booker T
Sheamus
Randy Orton
The Rock
Edge
Jericho
Santino Marella

If you are putting over new stars
Kofi Kingston
John Morrison
The Miz - Turn him face before
Mason Ryan
Daniel Byran
Internet Sensation Guy (forgot his name)
Natalya - Turn her face before
Beth PHENOIX - Turn her face again

I think it'd be a great message and boost for WWE Divas to put a female in the role, but we know that won't happen.

Why NOT have Marine 3 be a ripoff of GI Jane? The real question would be who would lose the "Buzzcut Match" to play the role?

I thought they are getting away making movies with WWE superstars taking the lead role?

If not, I see Randy Orton taking the role.

Sheamus as an ex-IRA.

Randy Orton has got the look and is a big enough name to do it. Part of me is marking out for the idea of Daniel Bryan in The Marine, though. If it shows he can do more than just wrestle (even if the movie is going to be shitty), then why not?

The idea of Santino Marella doing it is also pretty interesting.

The Miz and R-Truth as marines who have been turned out by a conspiracy between their platoon sergeant (played by Triple H) and Taliban leaders (played by Jinder Mahal and Santino) who are mutually profiting from some kind of drug trade in the middle east.

Truth will obviously have to die at the end of the second act.

That would make it easy to use Daniel Bryan.

BOOM.
