Yeah, RAW was pretty bad. The opening promo started out meh, went to shit, went to cool because of Punk and Sheamus vs Cena, then it was all down hill. None of the matches really mattered. Don't have to go into how they legit buried the 90% of the roster in the opening segment.

I guess the best thing on the show was the six man. Even that I didn't really give a shit about.

Am looking forward to Randy vs. Cody.

Pretty "meh" RAW. The opening segment would have been cool if they had allowed the actual match part of it to go on any longer. As it is, it could have been cut down a lot to just get to the point and get RAW going.

Also, I can't believe they have seemingly given up on the Zack Ryder push/Ziggler feud already, and replaced him with Mason Ryan. Dude was put over by Hugh Jackman, and is already massively over with the crowd. Could have had Mason feud with Swagger/help Ryder against the both. Continued the Ryder/Ziggler thing, and Ryder can help Mason get over by making him a broski.

BUT WORST OF ALL ON THIS RAW.

What exactly does Jenifer Hudson do for WWE that everyone thinks he'll get fired if they break up?

Otunga is similar to the Miz, except without the wrestling ability, mic skills, or natural charisma. So in essence he's a former reality star.

His only REAL claim to fame at this point is the fact that he's engaged to Hudson. And in Vince-World, being linked to someone famous makes him famous by default. He breaks up with her, he's got nothing.

Supreme Olajuwon
10-11-2011, 12:34 AM
pretty sure Otunga got signed because he was a wrestler, not because his girlfriend is famous

Supreme Olajuwon

We all know Vince has infinite patience for big musclebound guys with no ring skills. At least Otunga also has a personality to work with.

In the time I spent in Ohio doting on my mother, I seem to have missed a lot of awesome. I'm not looking for a full-on, thread long recap of everything that went on in that time, I just need a couple of questions answered, all of them questions raised by the "walk out" ending:

- When Super Dave is welcoming the wrestlers into the building, looks like the first one in was Shelton Benjamin. Was I just seeing things, or is he back in the 'E?

- Two Sin Caras walked in. Did they officially pull the trigger on that angle, then?

- When did they go back to the white IC strap? I must say, that is... dashing.

Nah... let the "interim GM" stuff play out. Have John Leonidas become an undisputedly weasly fuck, and just when he can't generate any more heat in this power play and think he has the job completely sewn up, out comes Foley as the permanant GM. I could prob'ly find more, but you get the point. Vast has it right- looks like it's just JR. And it is pretty much EVERYTIME he's on RAW in OKC. Not even [insert random jobber] loses every time he's at home, and he's put in less time with the company than JR.

For each of those examples there's probably 2 more that show the opposite (i.e. getting "burried"/losing in their home town).

Just recently...

Beth Phoenix failed to win the Divas Championship in her home town with the crowd solidly behind her. That was a "moment" waiting to happen and WWE didn't pull the trigger, instead waiting just 2 weeks to switch the title. Granted, WWE probably did this so that the "heel" didn't cheered for taking the title off the babyface.

Whilst in Long Island, the hometown boy and incredibly over Zack Ryder was allegedly told that he would not only get promo time and a match but he would also win! The guy didn't even appear. Perhaps the first instance of being "buried" by not being there?

Another one...

MVP in his hometown, wanna say at Survivor Series. Huge pop, really over, first man eliminated.

On the subject of "burials"...

The stuff from CSL here was funny, but looking at it from a critical viewpoint, HHH has virtually "buried" the entire roster.

Not just for the "broomstick" comment but moreso in the positioning of his character. HHH as COO was a face. He did things for the fans, he basically said that everybody walking out - including the faces - were bitches for doing so.

This whole thing has become about HHH. Forget about "pipebomb" Punk and his shoots against authority - including HHH himself - Punk will now stand beside the man he intended to dipose from his position of power. Forget about the conspiracy against Miz/Truth, they're now part of a conspiracy against HHH.

The very end of Raw was telling - HHH, front and centre, standing tall.

Of course, that's the critical view. For the most part I enjoyed the show (even if I think they ended the walkout before it even got started).

You're just being a negative nelly. He didn't bury the roster. Triple H is all that matters.

I'm not being negative. I'm saying I could be, if I wanted to. :shifty:

I think I've just settled into a "heh. That's the way it goes" mentality.

So, whilst I can see that they've burned through/pissed away a half dozen great opportunities/angles that could have grown into something great instead of being rushed and just good, I don't let it get to me in the long run.
